(She isn't looking her best. A few dragon hatchlings wander around her feet, but she can only give them a weak smile.)

My brother...isn't here any longer. (Some of his armor is beside her, cracked from the blow that had taken his life. She runs her fingers over the breaks, closing her eyes.) My classes will be postponed until next week.

You wouldn't be satisfied with that arrangement. If your Shogun is misguided, you are the sort of man that would tell him. (Or at least suggest it. Daenerys doesn't like it when her councilors disagree with her in public, but behind closed doors, she wants to hear their opinions.

She lifts the mug without any sign that the heat bothers her and she will sip the brew - once it is done steeping - far sooner than him.)

They say it runs in our family. Our father was known as the Mad King, but I personally think Viserys was hurt too many times and his mind collapsed under the strain.

I'm only a Captain, but Kondo-sensei is the Commander and Ito-sensei is Councilor so they are the ones who can convince Lord Katamori-sama to talk to the Shogun. And Hijikata-san being the Vice-Commander will decide what is best for the Shinsengumi.

[ Watching her sip the hot tea without cooling it first makes him stare in worry, his mug still untouched. Then he frowns. ]

Is there a particular reason why?

Don't think of it that way. A Captain can change everything if he has enough reason to do so.

(She arches a brow at his expression, lowering her mug with a small sigh.)

(He also had overgrown nails that he refused to trim and he was constantly cutting himself on the Iron Throne. He wa an adorable man, obviously. ~~Oh and he brutalized and raped Daenerys's mother whenever he felt like it. In fact, Dany is definitely a product of one of those rapes.~~)

[ He looks at Dany with wonder. Her words remind him of how his sensei wanted to become bushi despite being from a farmer's family; now he has become a Commander of a great group along his best friend of the same roots. Closing his eyes briefly, deep inside, he missed them so much. ]

[ What she tells about her father though brings him back to reality, and not in a good way. His expression shows utter concern. ]

Why!? Why would he do something like that? Is he the reason why your brother became mad too? Daenerys-san is nothing like them!

[ What a charming father-in-law ^^;;... Wait? What? (0_0) ~~Poor Dany! She needs love and trust more than ever ;;~~ ]

I'd rather someone like you rule. Kings, Queens, Lords and Ladies can lose sight of what is most important. Power consumes them and they think themselves...above...common people when they should be guiding them and protecting them.

(She grows pale and grim.)

I don't know. (Shaking her head slowly.) I had two brothers - Rhaegar and Viserys. Only one of them was mad, so perhaps it was circumstances, not blood.

(The scariest father-in-law.)

[ There's a laughter at what she says, not by making fun of her but the thought of him ruling would be bad, he believes. ] Oh no! I don't think I would fit as a ruler. I'm not a learned person nor I have a talent for politics. It takes a lot for me to think.

[ His face turns serious at the sight of her own dread. ]

Was Rhaegar different from them?

You don't have to be talented in politics or history. If you surround yourself with a knowledgeable council, you will be able to rule as your heart sees fit.

(Faltering, she looks away to pieces of broken armor she has kept.)

He liked to sing and play the high harp. He loved little children and he was a fierce, fierce knight. Only one man matched him in pure strength.

A council? [ And who would he choose for a council if so? ]

[ He follows her sight to the armor from afar. ] I wish I could have met him before.

A group of people who you can trust to tell you the truth. (That comes with time.)

If he returns... (She doesn't have much hope.) He would like you.

The truth about how to rule? [ Well, at least he won't feel alone in taking hard decisions. ]

[ Turning back to her as he beams. ] You think so?

The truth about everything and everyone. (Sometimes he might oppose them and they have to meet in the middle. Or, rather, the councilors should bow to his decision.)

He is very kind under all of his armor.

Makoto... [ He mutters. In the end is all about finding the truth for every world, even Dany's. ]

So the truthful, real Rhaegar-san is a kind person who would despise unnecessary killing and fighting.

Is that someone you trust? (She begins to smile, but the expression falls.)

He is. He would have been an amazing King. The reason he fought was because he was in love. He was protecting his marriage to Lady Lyanna Stark.

It is what the 'truth' kanji means in japanese. Our flag. [ He lifts the mug up to his lips and takes a sip as he frowns. ] He died for love, then? [ Just like Dany's, 'Lyanna' is a pretty name too. ]

Then keep it in mind always and you will discover those worthy to be on your council.

(She drums her fingers against her mug.)

Yes; he died for what he believed in most.

[ A gentle and thankful smile. ] Alright! I'll keep that in mind!

[ And then that smile is gone, pressing his lips together in discontent and holding the mug with both hands. ] I'm so sorry, Dany.

(She thinks about what she lost when Rhaegar died frequently. It's hard not to, really.)

They say there is a reason - a purpose - for everything.

[ He tilts his head to look into her eyes, the mug already on the counter. ] What do you think would have been your purpose if your family lived?

I would have been wed to Rhaegar and been his Queen. My duty would have been to support him and give our line Princes. (She wouldn't have been a conqueror.)

And would you have accepted it like that? [ He believes she wouldn't be that kind of woman, to accept things as they are. ]

I was...different. (She remembers that girl; Souji wouldn't recognize how she had been.) I barely spoke and I was frightened of...nearly everything.

[ And Dany wouldn't recognize him when he was nine: being such a weak, spoiled crybaby. ] Then as you said... everything happens for a reason. The reason was for you to grow up as a woman with purpose.

(Being a child is one thing, but she had been in her late teens then.)

I am a conqueror. They called me Aegon the Conqueror with - (...teats.) Aegon is the one who originally united the Seven Kingdoms under his reign. He had three great Dragons: Balerion, Vhagar and Meraxes.

With breasts? [ See? That is one of the reasons why everybody with a temper smack him for his lack of tact at times. ] [ What she is telling leaves him in awe. Those dragon names sound pretty cool. ] You mean... Is he your ancestor and you come from a line of rulers?

(She grins, nearly surprised into a laugh.)

Teats, actually. (But they amount to the same body part, though breasts is the kinder word.) For three hundred years, the Targaryens sat on the Iron Throne.
