Log 01 | [Video]
[It's been a few hours, which was ample time to give a new arrival to get a grasp on the situation. Or at least, for ones that don't scream and panic, or ignore that convenient apparition's explanation of the whole ordeal. He'd made a point to go straight to the Schnee Company building... and now he's pretty sick and tired of reading, but at least he had information. Now he's at a café with a cup of tea while he tinkers with this tomestone-esque device he found in that box. ... there was also a rather pudgy little friend under his chair. He knows he's turned on the audio, but he doesn't realize he's turned on the video, the device showing his uniformed visage to everyone.]
I would have been content to simply accept this "kidnapping" ordeal on its own and take things as they come, I can't say I appreciate being separated from my chocobo.
... but I suppose that's a complaint that'll fall on deaf ears. Not that I'm surprised.
[He's pretty annoyed by the whole thing. Although given his current situation at home, he isn't sure if he'd prefer this whole thing, or the one of having to aid his despised homeland. Tough choice, but then again, almost anywhere is better than Ishgard.]
Now, is it normal to find your name in records of a realm you're quite certain you've never been to? With my ordeal at home, being whisked away to a new realm and seeing your name thrown around like you were a local at some point doesn't inspire me with very much confidence.
[He pauses briefly.]
.... and what is the exchange rate between gil and red bills?

Yeah the elections are a thing. And, uh, word of warning, if you see the skeleton, turn down your volume. Trust me on this.
no subject
[Surely there are bad eggs in there too, but it's not like the non-beast tribes are any better with their careless expansion.]
I... shall keep that in mind, thank you. I certainly wouldn't have expected such a warning regarding a skeleton, of all creatures.
[And he sounds pretty confused by that too. Most skeletons he encountered only just kind of rattle and cackle evilly.]
no subject
But yeah, you're staying at Everglade? What drew you to that place? Not that its any of my business.
[She just lives there and wants to know why somebody who isn't dead or a spookable would want to go anywhere near the place.]
no subject
Per my own curiosity more than not. Fayren sounds the closest to home, but I find myself more drawn to the likes of Everglade to learn more of what life there entails. I'm unsure if I'll make it my residence here, but it and Nova City are quite unlike what I've seen.
[Nova is a bit overwhelming for one day comparatively, but he figures he'll have plenty of time to explore it later.]

Though it sounds like you made up your mind on the matter, so do whatever you want.
[She's... seen more than enough guys like him to make an educated guess of what he's all about. At least when it comes to people telling him NOT to do stuff.]

In my line of work, I keep a weapon on my person at all times. If luck is on my side, I won't have to raise it. You have my thanks for the warnings. I shan't overstay my welcome if the citizenry believes me unwanted.
[But he's got a solid record with beast tribes, so he hopes the denizens of Everglade aren't that different. Although, if what he read about the barrier is true, his presence in a place he's unwanted could aid in the powering the barrier in some ass-backwards way. But he's probably overthinking that part.]
no subject
[But that's not really any of her business.]
It sounds like you've got the next spot for your adventure figured out then. You be careful. Don't want to add another soul to the folks that disappeared all of a sudden.
no subject
I shall. My instincts haven't failed me yet.
[He hesitates again.]
Are the disappearances here that frequent?
no subject
No. Usually it's just one or two every now and then. This... this has been the biggest disappearance I have seen since I got here a few months ago.
People seem upset, but not too surprised.
no subject
Ah... It would seem I arrived in a somber time.
[Not like that's anything new. He always seems to get himself caught up in things when times are dark. This whole "Warrior of Light" thing really seems to dictate his life.]
My apologies. Perhaps it is best for me to set aside my inquiries for the time being. T'would be the more decent thing to do.
[But he always has this
annoyinghabit of wanting to help people. Seven hells, what did he get pulled into this time?]no subject
Fuck, there's no need to get all delicate on my account. I've lived through worse than answering some genuinely good questions. I don't really give a fuck, its all the same to me and, hell, it might spare somebody else's feelings later down the line.
[Its true. While she does feel strongly for the people that are gone, its more what they represent that has Vaggie bothered. Did they go home or did they disappear? She had heard of them coming back, but this had the weight of a funeral to her, and she had forgotten what genuine mourning felt like.]
Unless you're done or whatever. No skin off my back.
