Log 01 | [Video]
[It's been a few hours, which was ample time to give a new arrival to get a grasp on the situation. Or at least, for ones that don't scream and panic, or ignore that convenient apparition's explanation of the whole ordeal. He'd made a point to go straight to the Schnee Company building... and now he's pretty sick and tired of reading, but at least he had information. Now he's at a café with a cup of tea while he tinkers with this tomestone-esque device he found in that box. ... there was also a rather pudgy little friend under his chair. He knows he's turned on the audio, but he doesn't realize he's turned on the video, the device showing his uniformed visage to everyone.]
I would have been content to simply accept this "kidnapping" ordeal on its own and take things as they come, I can't say I appreciate being separated from my chocobo.
... but I suppose that's a complaint that'll fall on deaf ears. Not that I'm surprised.
[He's pretty annoyed by the whole thing. Although given his current situation at home, he isn't sure if he'd prefer this whole thing, or the one of having to aid his despised homeland. Tough choice, but then again, almost anywhere is better than Ishgard.]
Now, is it normal to find your name in records of a realm you're quite certain you've never been to? With my ordeal at home, being whisked away to a new realm and seeing your name thrown around like you were a local at some point doesn't inspire me with very much confidence.
[He pauses briefly.]
.... and what is the exchange rate between gil and red bills?

[Yet he's willing to accept being whisked away like this.]
no subject
Perhaps...
[She tilts her head in curiosity.]
You say you seen your name in these archives? What is your name?
no subject
[He's a little more accepting of saying his name the third time around. He's feeling more at ease now that he's ditched the idea of this being a weird imperial plot.]
no subject
[Upon hearing his name, she lets out a soft, audible gasp. She definitely recognizes the name.]
I see... There was a Gale Reinhardt, who left this world only recently. He was...one of the few friends I've made in this world. In fact, you even look like him, somewhat.
no subject
Allow me to offer my sympathies for his departure. Losing a valued friend is always difficult.
[He's certainly felt that pain recently. His remaining companions remain optimistic about their lost comrades, but he secretly has his doubts.]
So we do share similar features? [His brow furrows in confusion.] This is... perplexing, to be sure. Is it true that he was one of the Guardians for a time?
[He has a hard time believing any "version" of himself would go out and take such a position, but he's not sure what to believe. Right now, he almost feels like he was suddenly dropped here from Eorzea as a "replacement."]
no subject
Yes...you do have some similar features, at least in appearance. I don't know how similar your personality is.
[She nods.]
Yes, he was the Guardian of Nova City for a time. After he left, General Grievous took over.
no subject
[He just can't wrap his head around this ordeal. Willingly taking the role of guardian is a bit different than having a squadron to command dropped on his shoulders. As much as he wants to ask more about it, he holds himself back.]
Forgive me, I doubt speaking of a lost friend is easy, let alone speaking of them to a man who may effectively be a doppelganger. It's rude of me to ask that of you.
And without even asking your name first. I think I left my manners at the Bay by mistake.
no subject
Well, I...don't often think about how easy or hard something is. I just do it. I'll speak my mind to anyone, regardless of who they are.
[She gives him a smile. She doesn't seem offended by his lack of manners.]
It's all right. My name is Karla.
no subject
[He's certainly glad he isn't quite coming off as a huge jerk. He doesn't have a great track record with manners. And definitely lacking manners with people of higher social standing.]
It's a pleasure, ill circumstance aside.
[He hesitates, almost uncertain about how to approach conversation with her. If she was a friend of this other Gale, surely speaking to him would be awkward, if not painful?]
What is it you do here? Your eyes give the impression you're no a typical maiden. A warrior, perhaps?
no subject
Is that how you often approach things?
[She certainly doesn't mind a conversation, even if she's equally awkward at it. With two of her friends gone, she'll have to work on making more.]
A warrior...I suppose you can call me that. I do have my skill with a sword. I was, until about six months ago, a Deputy Guardian in Genessia City. Now I work for security in the Schnee Company.
What about you? What do you do in your world?
no subject
[He knows people have died for less, meanwhile here he is doing ridiculous shit that by all rights should have killed him numerous times over. He regrets nothing. ... or at least very little.]
Ah, that is a loaded question, but I'm an adventurer first and foremost. I just happen to do some... ah, shall we say "god slaying" on the side.
[Monster slaying in general certainly, but ya know, there were definitely gods in there. Just a few.]
But I dabble in many crafts of the hand, in addition to that of the sword and magick. I would spare you the minor details, of course. T'would surely make me a bore if I did.
no subject
An adventurer? That's interesting. You must have seen some interesting things in your adventures, yes?
[She tilts her head at the mention of crafting.]
You can craft blades as well?
