[His arrival a few days ago had been less than unsightly considering one minute he was holding a bloody and injured Kaito and the next he was transported to a place like this. He'd searched for hours for his injured teammate and it wasn't until dawn had arrived that he slowly came to terms with his new circumstances. He sensed them - Purebloods. It wasn't until he got a better grasp of this place that Zero decided to use the small communication device.

The recording turned on showing a stiff looking hunter whose lips thinned into a grim line.]

The rules of the Association still apply.

[And with that simple sentence, the Hunter cemented his stance.]

[With those she knew coming more often, Kimiko missed Moriko, but she was okay. She had her Mama and Daddy. And then Uncle Takuma came. As much as she was worried for her sister, she had other people around that she cared for.

Seeing Zero's face pop up on the communicator, her stopped her drawing. Face lighting up, she couldn't help but feel happy. Her Mama was here and she got to meet her Daddy finally, but her Papa was here now too.]

[It was Papa! He seemed younger like Mama was, but it was still him. She flipped on her own communicator, framing part of her face before fixing the angle.]

Papa! I'll come and get you, Papa!

[Although she'll probably get lost... woops.]

[Yuuki had been in the middle of checking in and out books, so had spent most of her time sitting at the desk stamping books going out and making sure the computer knows that there are some coming back and making notes of which haven't come back just yet.

While in between her work she had been paying attention to the device but the thing she had never expected was to see Zero of all people here as well, which had started to make her wonder if he was alright. Last she could recall she had made a choice and was suppose to talk to 'her' about it, but never got there. She had been worried since that he might not have been okay, but here he is....looking about as much of himself as usual.]

Ze-Zero. It's good to see you're alright. [She inwardly was sighing with relief.]

[Have a young albino girl with big red eyes and long white hair staring at you through the screen.]

Is that a game? Shiro wants to play too!

...But Shiro doesn't know the rules.

[He looked at the feed with lifeless eyes. He had known Zero had arrived for a long while now, and he was sure that Zero could sense the lone bat which was following his actions from afar.

He had the same sentiments of course, for the safety of his beloved.]

You have no association here to support you. I would advice caution.

[He expected a range of different responses from that short message but what he didn't expect was a little girl calling him---]

....

[He raised a brow as he stared down at the screen taking in the small features. It was surprising to say the least, and instantly figured she had confused him with someone else. Considering her age, Zero's usual blunt words were tempered just a bit.]

Hey. Little girl. You have the wrong person.

[He'd known of her presence in this strange place but for some reason he could not sense her. Still, Zero had made no move to seek her or her fiancee out while his circumstances remained a mystery to him.

He stared at the Pureblood Princess with even eyes.]

I haven't forgotten my duty towards your family.

[Like the Association rules, Zero would keep to his last assignment to the Kuran family. Until Kaname replaced the Ancestor's heart in their furnace, Zero would protect his and his own. It was his duty, and even here Zero had nothing but duty left to him.]

[An even stare. He didn't know the girl, nor could he tell if she was vampire or not from this distance.]

It isn't a game.

[A blunt statement and one made harsher with the even tone that held no hint of warmth in its depths.]

[Even if he was assigned to protect him, Zero had little tolerance with being followed. He didn't like it when Kaito did it, he certainly didn't find it any less annoying when it was a Pureblood.

He shot that bat.]

Your concern is unnecessary.

[Shiro looks thoughtful, and slightly disappointed.]

What's the Association, then? Should Shiro still know the rules?

[It was still part of their rules to keep the existence of vampires from the human population, so Zero wasn't so apt to talk - not that he ever was - when he didn't know her association.]

That depends on what you are.

Shiro is... Shiro.

[But wait... she's more than just that, now. Shiro strikes a proud pose, setting her hands on her hips and grins.]

Shiro is a Deadman.

[No, that's not the same thing as a vampire, Zero. That's not necessarily less dangerous, though.]

[A look.]

....... I see.

[Vampires weren't dead in their world. They were simply another species, so the declaration had the Hunter thinking there was something wrong with her considering she looked pretty alive to him.]

[Well that would be because Deadmen aren't actually dead... But he's right about thinking there's something wrong with her.]

Oh! Mister Purple Eyes knows what a Deadman is. That's super cool, right?

So... can Shiro be in the Association too?

[That at least answered another question she had in mind, something she had guessed would have been a high possibility all things considering. She was getting use to it by now.]

I guess you must remember me as a Kuran, right?

[That's what it sounded like to her, so she was just checking while at the same time moving a book from her left, opening it and scanning in before pushing it towards the right.]

[Painful, but barely enough for it to register for Kaname. It was just a familiar. The real Kaname appeared before Zero.]

Temper, temper. Still, nothing has changed with you.

Kuran Yuuki.

[He affirmed, though he caught the subtle wording.]

Do you go by something else?

[He frowned at that description. He wasn't a Mister!]

It's Zero.

[He stared at her with a disapproving look. She was way too cheerful for his liking.]

No.

I can say the same of you.

[He told him evenly.]

Not entirely true.

[He spoke as he was taking measured steps towards the hunter.] You'll feel the presence of another pureblood aside from myself. That's my daughter.

[He raised a brow. Of course, he'd felt the other Pureblood and even guessed they were rather weak but he'd assumed it was his fiancee. It had felt like her only different but considering all the strange things about this place he hadn't put much thought to it.]

...... I see

[He had seen his fiancee hours before he was transported here and the thought that that little girl had one of her own.... It wasn't any of his business.]

Congratulations.

[Kaname nodded elegantly. For a moment, he just gazed silently at Zero. He was musing about Kimiko's situation and Yuuki's lack of memories. He simply had to ask the next question.]

What was the last thing you remember?

[A look.]

Why do you care?

[By now, he was used to Purebloods and their play with words. He had little tolerance for it.]

[Sometimes, he wished for nothing else but to strangle the hunter, but he had to remind himself that Zero had his uses.]

This place has its way of bringing people here from varying periods of time. In fact, I won't be surprised if you showed up here with a body and memory of yourself as a five year old kid.

Essentially, I'll need the information to brief you.

[He'd heard of this occurrence from the other residents and struggled to believe such a thing could happen. Even here, in this strange place, how could they... it was like playing with time and memories. How disgusting.]

We were assigned to protect the Kuran Mansion. It was attacked by Purebloods - Kaito got hurt.

[Protecting him. The idiot.]
