After her recent network post, Satou began work on a candle display. She has set up glass shelves outside of the Genessia Guardian office, each divided into elegant cubicles with glass doors. A nearby sign indicates that these shelves of cubicles (of which, there are hundreds,) are intended for putting candles and flowers inside. "Dedicate the spaces to your missing friends, family, and found-family," the sign suggests, "The Guardianship and kind volunteers will ensure that the candles remain burning for the rest of the the Guardian term."
Though, anyone who knows Satou probably knows that she intends to work with the next Guardian in order to keep the displays up for as long as possible. Additionally, there are a few flyers with directions to the Sheelal Trauma Centre in Nova: In case anyone should need professional counsel.
The event is an open mingle. Characters are welcome to make top-levels for themselves as they mourn their missing loved ones. The hope is to connect with CR of their missing friends, and maybe form more relationships. Feel free to also assume your character is volunteering, and maybe use the prompts before for inspiration~!
There will also be a top-level where you can leave the names of dropped characters, then reply with IC remembrance notes. Nothing says "we miss you" like trash talking people, right?? Here is an example. No need to add the "Name" and "Message" to your comments: Those are just there for clarity.
✣ Prompt A. Setting Up )) The displays are made primarily with Satou's magic, but she can't do everything along! The glass may need to be cleaned, baskets of candles need to be put out, and decorations set in place. The Guardian Office will also be opened, so any help to make it look inviting is greatly appreciated.
✣ Prompt B. Decorating Cubicles )) Characters are encouraged to take their time really personalizing the cubicles. Maybe you'll want to team up with someone who shares your CR, and discuss together how to make it reflect them... Or, maybe you'll need help decorating through your tears. Volunteers will be given access to a supply of candles, fabric, paper, flowers, etc. so that they can assist.
✣ Prompt C. Low-key Potluck )) On both nights, there is a quiet potluck in the Guardian's Office. Sometimes it's hard to worry about food or selfcase when you're sad, and it is the Guardian's job to look after the health of the citizens. Mingle with others, talk out your feelings, and give yourself a break!
✣ Prompt D. Daytime Candle Viewing )) If your character can't make it at night, maybe come by during the day. Volunteers to keep candles from going out and wipe down the glass will also be greatly appreciated!

Comments are visible to other characters, and assumed to be written on note cards left in their candle cubicle.

[This makes perfect sense if you know her relationship with the man.]
I will always be with you
Makes no difference where your road takes you to
Even if we're apart
Now we're joined at the heart
Though our moments may be gone
You and I will still live on
I will always be with you
I'll be by your side whatever you do
All the memories may fade
But the ones that we made
Are eternal as a star
Now I'm part of who you are
And I'll be there with you in the sound of your laughter
I'll be in the tears you cry
'Cause the way you and I have touched one and other
Doesn't end with goodbye
I will always be with you
Like a guardian-angel constant and true
When you're lost in the night (Lost in the night)
And you can't see the light
My love will see you through
I will always be there
You'll have me there
I will always be with you
I will always be with you
I will always be with you
Like a guardian-angel constant and true
When you're lost in the night (Lost in the night)
And you can't see the light (Can't see the light)
My love will see you through
I will always be there
You'll have me there
I will always be with you

A. Setting Up
And as usual, he'd misread the situation, his smile and chipper mood clashing mightily with the solemnity.
Oh well, if there's work to do, he'll be the busiest bee and show off just how industrious he really is.]
ROGER THAT, GUARDIAN SATOU!! I'LL GET STARTED WITH THE LOGISTICS RIGHT AWAY!!
[First things first: moving boxes. At first he simply carries the wares with his bony arms like a normal person would. Then he decides to get fancy, and instead moves them to and fro along a parade of bones like a rocker in a moshpit.]
NYEH HEH HEH, TAKE THAT, BOXES!! MY MAGIC IS TOO GREAT FOR YOUR WEIGHT!

Decorating
She had Sylveon with her, the normally active Pokemon was somber as well. When Satou came offering water, Anastasia gave a weak smile.]
Hey, Satou. I'm well, all things considered. [She accepts a water bottle before continuing.] It's strange. You spend years with a broken heart, then when you find happiness, you think it's whole again. Then, you realize that may not be the case.
Do you know what I mean?

[Vaggie never liked public gatherings. Under normal circiumstances, she would avoid them at all possible. She could bend the rules on a commemoration, if only in her own different way.]
[As people are gathering to the candles, a solitary figure may be seen. She's on the outermost edge of the ceremony, where the dim candlelight fades into shadow. She sets up a blanket to sit upon, canopied by a lacy dull lavender umbrella that all but served no purpose. She looked on, eye attentive to the comings and goings of those interested in attending the shrine. How strange. Was she remembered like that? Did anybody notice when she was gone? Funny how being dead never really answered any of those things.]
[On the moments where things are slow she retrieved a weathered journal and jot down a few thoughts. Or, occasionally, drew out a book of depressing poetry.]
That Which Comes
[The next morning one may find a drooped dull lavender umbrella covering a person resting atop a checkered blanket. Apparently she was so caught up into the moment she had forgot to go home.]

[Shirou quickly nabs a cubicle and is currently looking at the supplies. He's not sure what to take. Minimalist decoration would seem suitable for what he suspects Archer would appreciate, but he might be biased. Hopefully Rin will be of some help.]
[C]
[If there's cooking to be had, you can expect Shirou to be there with a dish of his own. For this, Shirou looked up some popular comfort foods, and came with a pan full of homemade macaroni and cheese. He even splurged on quality ingredients, using excellent cheese and cream as part of the dish. He even went so far as to add bacon bits. It's a simple dish, but it's also very delicious.
As for himself, Shirou is trying a little bit of everything. He wants to see the variety of cooking the place has among its non-native population. He includes a scoop of his own mac and cheese, as well, and finishes it off with a glass of juice before taking a seat.]
A.
But Shirou has caught her curiosity. He has a cubicle to use, and yet... It looks so plain, while many others are decorated.]
... Is that all you are doing with it?

sadmad that he's gone, how dare that smug idiot leave everything here behind?! This is supposed to be a place where they can still see each other with no worries about what happens back home, how dare he --?! Also what is grief? These things happen all the time, it's no big deal. Yes, she's going to keep on telling herself that. She stares at the cubicle for a moment before she lets out a frustrated sigh right next to Shirou.]
He'll be lucky if we don't just decorate this whole thing with ...something like... maid outfits.
[... That's not helpful but that's the firs thing Rin says anyway, thanks to all the stuff that Archer did around her mansion.]

[Gale had offered Satou his help, and he was going to give just that. He seemed to try to stay pretty low key, having a feeling weighing on his mind about the confusion his presence may cause for people, but working it off seemed to best way to handle it right now.
He would quietly cross off completed tasks from the to-do list in the office. He didn't know anyone here, let alone the people who were recently lost, but he still did his best to help out with whatever needed done. If anyone would approach him, he'd look up from whatever he was doing.]
Hey. Did you need help with something?
[C.]
[When he'd learned that there was a potluck, Gale decided to put his culinarian skills to good use. He never informed anyone that he was doing anything, so he simply showed up with a few trays piled on top of each other. He'd spent a good portion of the money he was given on arrival on the shopping for all of the cooking. His food was described as "heavenly" by a sultana, so perhaps his food could help bring some smiles. It was the least he could do.]
[D.]
[He would make an effort to help clean the glass and tend to candles. As he carefully closed one of the doors, he stared at his reflection in the glass, illuminated by the flicking light of the candle. He narrowed his eyes, speaking to himself, thinking he was alone.]
So is this what you would have done, if you were here instead of me? [He scoffed.] It better be. I wouldn't want to have to disown myself.
[D]
[The young woman who stands behind Gale is holding a wooden box, which she has filled with colourful bottles. Each one is presently topped off with a cork. Otherwise, perfumed scents would be sneaking out. She wants to set them up by some of her old friends' cubicles, but first...]
Are you okay?
(no subject)
C
...Gale? Fancy seeing you here...
[It sure was odd meeting another person with the same name, but Karla had the feeling that she'd like this guy as much as she liked the other Gale.]

[Tomoe rarely spoke on the network, but that didn't mean that she didn't check it. She had seen the Genessia Guardian's mention of a remembrance display and decided to participate... She had been battling with her grief silently behind closed doors for months, maybe there would be something cathartic about it.]
[Her display looks very much like a standard Japanese home shrine for the dead, though only one name is actually deceased among those listed. This was meant for those who had been and gone in Genessia... but things weren't the same for her as they were for others. There was no going home for her. There was no seeing her family again. For her, it was as if they were the ones who had died, not her... and so in addition to Ayame and Kenshin there are three other names at her display despite the fact that she was confident they had never stepped foot in Genessia.]
Enishi Yukishiro, Hideki Yukishiro and Akira Kiyosatto.]
[She finishes her messages, tucking the slips of paper close to the candles and takes a step back, pressing her palms together and lowering her eyes to pray for them.]
Potluck
[Tomoe has brought a tray of onigiri with various fillings for the pot luck and left it with the rest. What has caught her attention are the fliers for Sheelal Trauma Centre. She lifts one to read over it. She remembers months ago when she anonymously addressed the network about Kenshin and her deceased state that someone had suggested seeking help. At the time it had seemed ridiculous, but there had been no precedence for such a thing in her time... and yet here was information on exactly what that person had been speaking of.]
[Would such a thing really make any difference...?]
