[Hawks appears on the screen with a winning smile, and a relaxed stance. He's been hiding out for a while, laying low and observing the cities, trying to find his way here before making a move of any kind. And now that he's got a little more confidence behind him, it's finally time to make his big debut.]

Hey. It's your resident flying hero Hawks checking in, making sure that everyone knows I'm here and available. Very available. It's a hero's job to keep an eye out for both the big issues, and the mundane daily stuff. Both are important, so I'll be making my rounds regardless of how relaxed it is here. And boy, is it relaxed! This is practically a vacation.

[A startled cry can be heard offscreen, and Hawks tilts the phone so his actions can be seen. While he doesn't actually move from the spot, a large feather pulls from his wing and shoots towards a child who's falling out of a tree. Is it a potentially fatal fall? No. Something that could have left life altering injuries? Not likely. Is it something that could have hurt? Yes. So he uses the feather to stop the fall, supporting the kid until she reaches the ground safely.

She seems a little star struck. Hawks waves at the child, and then puts the focus right back on himself.] See, I'm not too bad to have around. Hit me up if you're in need of a little in the way of heroics. Or you just want to grab something to eat. I'm starving.

It's nice to see a hero.

[Belle couldn't help but smile really.]

I assume it's something you wee back home?

From what I hear you get to see a lot of them here.

[Hawks leans in, expression warm.] Yeah, that's the role I played. Someone's got to keep people safe.

Someone has to be the hero. One just has to be brave and smart about it.

[She had her moments where she wanted to be the hero. Like those in the books she reads.]

Or just lucky and fast enough to get out of the rougher patches.

[Hawks doesn't find much joy in those stories. The world is too rough for fantasies.]

Or maybe a combo of all of it. But there is always one thing a hero has in common. They want to do what is right.

Isn't that right?

That works too. [Hawks nods, the bright smile doesn't falter but goodness it keeps hitting him right where it hurts. Can you really be a hero still, if you sully yourself in the name of protecting many? If he does horrible things, to help take down evil, can he still look at himself in the mirror and call himself a hero?

He doesn't know. But he does want to do what's right. No matter what the cost.] Yeah, that's right. It's what we all live by.

[She nodded slightly. Belle herself always wanted to do what was right, but she was also one who did so in a certain way. At least she tries to not hurt if it's possible.]

It's a good thing to live by. Does it mean you'll do some of the bounties that appear in newspapers?

Yeah, I figure I can help out that way. It's not the same as pro-hero work, but it's still contributing to a safer society.

[He's going to go insane from boredom fast. This place is just too slow for him overall.]

It seems to be the second best next to being a Guardian. Though I think I'll probably stick to the bounty hunting work.

You're a hunter? I'm impressed. Guess you've got it easy here though. It's a slow grind from what I've seen so far.

I only really. Did bounties here. It was never really anything I did back home. Overall, bounty hunting is also good practice.

It's better than nothing. But how can you verify if your targets are actually the bad guys? The problem with bounty work is that it kind of leaves some room for corruption.

If I remember correctly, in the newspapers it's usually explained what a person is doing for them to get a bounty in the first place. Some have been cases of murdering people who have done nothing wrong.

But I like to think there might be cases where there is a bigger picture to it than what is shown.

I'm going to have to do a heck of a lot of research while I'm here.
