[Luke is a rather calculating young man, all things considered. As such, he's already been awake from his odd slumber in the bay for quite some time before he decides it's time to test the video feed out. He's sitting on a bench outside of the library--libraries are always a good place to figure things out--when he turns the feed on. For a thirteen-year-old suddenly stranded in a new city, he seems rather calm.

Hello!

[He waves at the video feed and straightens his hat.]

My name is Luke. I just woke up here, and I'm a little bit confused as to...well, as to everything, honestly. It's always best to start an investigation by asking people around town, and this little phone makes that a lot easier!

[Luke glances behind him and then points.] I'm outside the library. I didn't go around the whole city yet, since it's so huge. But if anybody has anything important that I should know, I'd really appreciate it!

[Luke fidgets just slightly in his seat. He's very set on seeming calm but the facade is wearing thin.]

And I suppose I have to find the Professor. And place to live...and somewhere to work...

So, if anyone can help at all...

[Luke leans in slightly, peering at the small screen.]

Hello Mr...

[He pauses. Mr. Dark Adonis? Mr. Vyers? Mr. Dark Adonis Vyers?]

Mr. Vyers...

[Off the screen, it's clear that Luke is scribbling notes on what Vyers is telling him. He does so without question, until the comment regarding Lucifer. His voice is nervous when he speaks again.]

L...Lucifer? As in the name for the devil that they use sometimes, Lucifer?

[A+ Vyers Luke is inordinately terrified of the supernatural! Even when he pretends he's not!]

Mr. Vyers will be fine.

[Noticing Luke was scribbling down his comments, Midboss slowed his voice to give him time to write it all down.

It was a bit of a relief to see him wary at the sound of the name, though. That would mean he was more likely to avoid him, he hoped.

How Luke would respond to the idea that he was talking to a demon now on the other hand, was anyone's guess.]

...Yes, the same one. He is in this world, as well.

[Taking note--literally, as he scribbled into the small notebook of screen--Luke nods, though his expression remains wary and uncertain. Vyers' information is only helping increase his nerves. For the first time since making his broadcast note, he is starting to appear visibly scared.]

W...what should I do...if I run into him? Or anyone else?

[The notebook is currently discarded on the bench and Luke fiddles with a stray strand of hair, looking off screen.]

This would be much better if the Professor was here...I'm not sure what to do alone.

[Is that a little bitty tear? Of course it isn't.]

[Seeing the fear in Luke's face gave Midboss a pang of guilt. He had not intended to scare him to that.]

Please, settle down...He has been lying low for some time now, but if you see him, the best approach is to just leave the area. He is not the sort to pursue those who do not confront him.

He appears as a tall man in black clothes, with black hair and an obnoxious attitude.

[Midboss sighed softly.]

Is there anyone from your world here?

[Don't worry, Vyers. Luke is actually afraid of lots of things, he just wants to pretend he isn't.]

If...you're sure he won't chase after me.

[Luke is definitely not convinced, but he's happy to move on in the conversation.]

Nobody from home is here, I don't think. Unless I just haven't seen them yet. I'm sure Professor Layton would've phoned already if he was here.

[Overprotective Midboss still worries, all the same.]

He does not make a habit of it, speaking from experience.

[Moving on seemed like a wise plan.]

I'm afraid I have not heard trace of anyone my that name, but I will let you know if I hear of him. In which case, your best option is to find somewhere to stay, first of all.

[Luke could always use a little bit of overprotectiveness.]

If you say so, Mr. Vyers.

...I think I would like it if the Professor were here. He always knows what to do.

[He shrugs.]

So...where is best to live? And...someone will let me stay somewhere even if...well. Mostly places won't rent flats to someone like me.

[See because he's 13.]

...I must admit, there are a few allies from home I would like to see here.

Most cities have fairly decent accommodation for reasonable prices. They seem willing to rent to anyone, regardless of age or race.

[He would offer to let Luke stay with him, but he doubted Laharl would be a good influence on the poor kid.]

[Truthfully, housing was at the top of his list of concerns--but it wasn't his biggest. It was, in fact, a cover for how overwhelmed he was. Luke sniffles slightly, inordinately preoccupied with something off the screen. Just acknowledging he was scared without the Professor made him feel silly...though it certainly didn't change that he was scared.]

Then it's good, somewhere will let me rent a flat. Right?

[After a moment, he glances back at the camera and smiles weakly.] I'll have to work hard.

I do still wish my friend Lamington were here sometimes. He has the uncanny ability to remain calm, no matter what. Oh, and he always cooks the best sweets.

[Perhaps hearing about Midboss' own thoughts would help - after all, Luke wasn't alone in wanting some familiar company.]

Indeed, they will... did you do any work at home? I am sure you can find something here that would suit you.

[Come to think of it...]

[Luke nods halfheartedly.]

I'm sorry he isn't here. Sweets are always very nice when things are scary.

[After a pause, he shakes his head.]

I'm in school at home.

They do improve an unpleasant situation, certainly.

[Hm. He imagined Luke's definition of 'school' was rather different to what they were accustomed to in the Netherworld.]

Focus on finding a place to stay first. I might have a couple of ideas for you if you have not found a job in a few weeks.

[Luke's schooling was one hundred percent average: books, teachers, desks. Those sorts of things.]
