1st Experiment [Video: Near the Bay]
I wish I could say this isn't the strangest place I've woken up in, but, that would be a lie.
[Don't ask. Washu's been through some interesting things lately and this was hardly the worst of them. She might even consider this a little vacation.]
Now, will someone be a dear and help a cute little girl like me try to figure out what's going on?

[Takeru himself didn't find this place all that strange either.]

Re: video;
I've dealt with all sorts in the last couple of years.

Re: video
And nothing immediately dangerous, no. A few people who might be dangerous if you get on their bad side though, so if you see anybody particularly scary looking, might want to try not to offend them. And depending on your feelings regarding the undead and various other creepy things, you might want to steer clear of Everglade; vampires, ghosts, and other beings like that tend to hang out there.
Re: video
I'm not sure how I feel about those creepy things. We don't have things like that on my world.
[...They have other problems.]

Re: video
Though you may wanna check out the Commonspace and pick up a few basic necessities before you go doing any exploring. The ones running his place have a really rude habit of snatching people up without giving them time to pack so much as a toothbrush or a change of clothes.
Re: video
Re: video
I can direct you to a few places where I picked up stuff when I first got here though. Plus a place that has really good ice cream bars, because it's definitely warm enough out that you might want some.

[Someone's got his sense of humor back, at least.]
The average 'cute little girl' that ends up here tends to be able to benchpress tanks, so please don't take this the wrong way: ...Can you benchpress a tank? Or perform comparable feats of destruction?
no subject
[At least Washu has a sense of humor to shoot right back with? However she huffs softly at his questions and pouts.]
I wouldn't say I can benchpress a tank, but, maybe there are some feats I can do that are comparable. But, for the interest of settling into a place for the time being, I'm not the destructive type.
no subject
That puts you solidly in the average bracket here, I think. There've been a few self-declared worldbreakers that have skewed the pool on the high side. Long as you don't declare your intent to rule this place, I look forward to getting along with you.
Name's Soma, by the way. Soma Cruz.
no subject
[It sounds like a joke at least? ]
It's a pleasure to meet you Soma, I'm Little Washu. And don't worry. Ruling the world, universe or even the multiverse are hardly on my to do list. I'm more interested in what passes for science around this place.

[...He could probably count himself among them, with a little study and practice. And a little more disregard for his fellow living beings' lives.]
For science, you're going to want to hit up Nova City, unless someone invites you to their subarchway. If you want to mix that with magic... Fayren's probably your best bet for a secondary, though Everglade is in the running too. Attleton is boring unless you want to deal with serial murderers and the like. Mostly mundane. And Genessia itself is a melting pot. I've heard there are some relatively new locations available too, but... haven't personally visited them.
no subject
[She's definitely a curious one...]
Out of all of those, Nova City and Fayren sound promising. So does Genessia but...I have no interest in Attleton if what you're saying is true. I don't need to be dealing with murders on top of resuming my studies.
However, the subarchways you've mentioned. How many are there and how does someone access them?
no subject
As for the subarches, I don't have an exact count to be honest. Probably around twenty? As for accessing them, unless they're locked you pretty much just have to find them, I think. You can make your own, too - but it comes at a cost. I don't know exactly what - I've never made one - but it can't be cheap, all things considered. It's a way to get a slice of home for yourself, and if there's a functional limit, I haven't seen it met. Someone I know brought his whole damned - and I mean literally damned - castle in.
no subject
I may need to look into that price, it might be worth it in the wrong run if I can get a little piece of home here. But, if there is a castle in one of them, what about the others? And can I see this 'damned' castle? I want to take a peek.

[Somehow she gets the impression it's 'bad luck', but, luck was luck.]
Then if you're willing, I'd like that tour. I wouldn't worry about demons attempting to hurt me though. They'll be the ones in trouble if they try.

[True to her word, Little Washu would be waiting at the indicated archway. Though.. was that a floating holo-computer at her fingertips? Just what was the petite girl doing?]
no subject
He arrives on a motorcycle, a sleek racing job that looks like it probably runs on pure alcohol - or maybe jet fuel. The whine of a turbine betrays the fact that it's not exactly a stock bike. He handles it pretty well, coming to a stop nearby and dismounting fluidly enough that it's apparent he's done it a few times.]
'Little' Washu, I presume? I'd use the Japanese honorifics, but they're not exactly a common thing here.
no subject
With a soft tap from her fingertips, the computer disappears as she turns to face him with a smile.]
That's me! Aren't I just the cutest?
[She's joking. Mostly.]
I wouldn't worry too much about honorifics I told you what to use so that should be enough for most people if they decide to get uptight about it for no apparent reason.
Now, I very curious about this castle and the archways so shall we?
no subject
You are indeed cute. Cutest, I think, might be up for some debate - and my girlfriend would probably defenestrate me if I said otherwise. [Slight hesitation on saying that, there - but only slight. Probably still a little embarrassed with the whole affair.]
Let's. ...Oh. Uh. I hope you know how to ride a motorcycle? Otherwise we're walking, as I keep forgetting there are people out there who don't trust a bike...
no subject
[On that she's sure. As for riding a motorcycle, Washu just grins.]
I think I can manage riding a motorcycle.
no subject
It's a bit of a ride, but I'm pretty sure I can make it quick and relatively painless.
[Once she's taken the helmet - or refused it - he'll mount and nod back at the pillion seat behind him. It's configured for sidesaddle, but she could probably manage a standard mount if she wants. How he got a pillion pad on a racing bike is a question perhaps best left unasked.]
no subject
But, who was she to judge? Washu settles herself on the seat neatly and grins.]
Ready whenever you are.
no subject
Everglade isn't known for its traffic, so the ride to the archway is pretty much unimpeded. Surprisingly smooth, too, in spite of roads whose condition could charitably be described as 'rough'. There's clearly something going on with the bike's suspension. When they pass out of town into the wooded areas, it gets even rougher, but they never feel a bump - and if Washu's paying attention, she'll probably notice the tires aren't actually touching the ground. The faint whine of a repulsor unit is almost inaudible under the turbine's much higher scream, and the decorative strakes alongside the front wheel apparently serve double duty as steering vanes.
Finally, they come to a stone archway that's just the slightest bit out of place, out here. A swirling mist hangs inside it, and were it not for the midday sun having burnt off the fog, it might have been passable for a normal phenomenon. Not so much without camouflage.]
We have to leave the bike here. What's on the other side of that gate doesn't agree too well with this kind of technology. I trust the ride was smooth enough for your liking?
