Wow~! Did anyone else get one of these "Pokemon?" They're positively adorable, aren't they?

[Silicon herself is accompanied by a Snivy, who is clinging to her shoulder. He peers into the camera curiously, then chirps in her ear.]

I make a lot of potions and stuff at AlcheMagia, my alchemy shop. I was thinking that these Pokemon might great assistants for gathering materials... Snivy even seems to know a lot about plants. I hope that he'll stay for a while. Maybe if I pay him a wage...

What do you all think would be a fair wage for a Pokemon? Do you think they care to spend red bills? Or is there something Pokemon prefer to trade with? I'm so curious! In Sevia, "monsters" were usually quite mean and it was difficult to bargain with them.

Is it normal for monsters to be this peaceful in other worlds, or is it only Genessia?

July 1st - Lab Time

[Silicon arrived at the lab with her usual level of curiosity: Overwhelming. Through snippets here and there, she had learned that these Pokemon were some sort of monster... So, in typical Silly fashion, she had over-prepared for meeting them. She has a tote bag filled with fruit, shiny trinkets, red bills, fancy fabrics... Anything she could think of for bargaining with a monster.

Spotting someone nearby, the silly girl taps their shoulder and whispers.]

How does this work? I've only heard of forming monster contracts in books. Do you think they'll like any of this stuff?

[On the first day, Silicon hung out with Snivy in her alchemy shop. Even if the Pokedex had her super curious, she needed to work! But today, on the 2nd, Silicon has a few hours for exploring. Armed with a list of ingredients, the red head marches to Fayren's mountains. She's partway up the mountain when she encounters her first wild Pokemon:


... A Shellos.

Colour is of little importance to Silicon. Without thinking, she takes off. Fleeing further into the mountainside, and stopping only when she bumps into a young woman.]

BUGAH-- S-Sorryyyy!

[Snivy, who is clinging to her shoulder, chirps at the stranger.]

Th-There was... a monsterrr! A monster, like a slug, I-I... need to breath.

[invigorates]

Oh! ( A loud squeak of surprise, the elven woman reflexively extends a hand to grasp onto whomever ran into her - both to steady herself and them, if necessary. At her heels her Pokemon stare up, or at least the one with visible eyes does. Ralts just kinda tilts his head. )

A monster? ( Or... a pokemon? Is there a difference. HUH. She doesn't know. ) You are not hurt are you?

Y, yeeahh! [Silicon looks up at the woman, and admittedly... She is initially surprised to see such a vibrant colour. But Silly is quick to push that thought aside, since it isn't uncommon for Silicon to be surprised by new things.

The thought of 'new things' causes her to clarify:]

I mean, I'm okay. It was a Pokemoooon. [Snivy nods from her shoulder and chatters something, which Silicon instinctively translates:] Snivy thought it was too strong for us.

You classify yourself as a monster? That's so cool! I'm glad to hear monsters are normally peaceful, though... Kinda makes me jealous. I wish monsters were this nice back home, too.

[Silly taps her cheek thoughtfully,] But we have hospitals in Fayren? Maybe I should get ready to make medicines for Pokemon, if we do.

[It's Chikorita. He's talking about the starter through these muddled pokemetaphors. She'll understand once she has a whiff of her friendly aromas herself.]

YUP! THOUGH I THINK THEY'RE USUALLY ATTACHED TO MONASTERIES AND STUFF.

[Probably won't find a working transfusion machine. Just magical priests or something.]

[It was another day and another search! Silicon had prepared herself differently that day, eager to spend more time with Snivy. Instead of an empty basket to store ingredients in, Silicon had a picnic basket full of treats. And instead of traveling alone, she was traveling with a coworker.]

Thank you for taking the time to help us out, Mr Gale. [Silly clapped her hands together, with the basket handle dangling from her elbow. Snivy was inside the basket, tastetesting some treats.]

Maybe today I won't spend the whole day running away!

[Gale himself had done some hunting of his own in Genessia City in the morning, so his team was pretty tuckered out and having some well deserved rests. He wanted to get to know more about the other species than the ones he'd encountered, so what better way to do that than with someone? He nodded to her.]

Of course. Don't feel bad about fleeing. I hadn't such great luck my first day either. Knowing when to run and when to fight is important too.

That's pretty smart advice.

[She can't help but giggle. Comyn and Acair would probably say something similar, but only one half of those brothers would take such advice. Since getting her Pokemon and adventuring more, Silicon can't get her old travel buddies out of her head.]

Well... Today, let's set some goals that we can accomplish! Then even if we run, we'll feel good about ourselves. Right, Mint? [Her Snivy mumbles an agreement, his mouth full of treats. He's already accomplished his goal: Eat sweets.]

T'is advice that I live by. I like to think it's gotten me pretty far.

[He's not dead yet, so that's a pretty good track record for him. He could also spout some bullshit that the experience is likely the best to strive for, but that sounds so dumb and generic that he'll refrain. And if someone told him that, he would probably want to deck them for being so generally useless.]

Mint appears content where he is, it seems. [He chuckles.] What say you then? Discovery of new species could be a good start, albeit a minor one admittedly, but one that could prove helpful to others.

[Silly is glad that Mint seems so content. She doesn't know much about Pokemon, or living animals in general, so was overwhelmed when she initially accepted the Pokedex.

She listens intently to his suggestion, then nods.]

I like that goal. After all, we did offer to help with the dex thing... How about a new Pokemon, and maybe... Taking home an ingredient for the workshop?

[It's not every day that you wake up and suddenly you have the task of recording all the new roaming creatures throughout five different cities. It had made him briefly wonder why he never made a bestiary of his own, but then he remembered how many damnable monsters were in Eorzea. Yeah, not worth it.]

That sounds ideal. Before departing, I checked on some of the reagent stores in the shop and took note of what I believed may be running low. Would you care to search for some of those, or would you rather we seek a new ingredient all together? I would be happy to search for the former later, if you would rather.
