[The video kicks on to an open field. Probably a ranch. Who knows and who cares? Certainly not this Pokemon Professor.]
Alola, everybody! Professor Kukui here with a fantastic idea, yeah!
With the appearance of Pokemon, and with everyone learning why they are our best buds, I would like to issue a challenge.
Come see me at anytime you would like, and I will put your moves to the test! That's right, I want to see how you work together with your Pokemon in a friendly battle!
I'm open now for any questions, comments or concerns. Later!
[With a outward wave of his hands with traditional Alolan fashion, he ends the video to get busy.]

[Just then, his Greninja suddenly pops in front of the screen as he glares at Kukui and cries towards him and his Pokemon.]

[He chuckles and moves on to the Professor.]
That's what I'm hoping for, Cousin. I want to get them to experience and test their bonds in ways that only a battle could accomplish.
How about you? Do you want battle them as well?
Re: [Video]
I can accept your challenge. My Venusaur and Geninja are actually missed about Pokemon battles lately and I think it should be a good time for them to do so with Garchomp.

We can have our Pokemon battle other people's and not just more Pokemon in the wild? [Intrigue and skepticism are dueling here.] Sounds interesting, but what's the point in bonding with them if Genessia's just going to take them away in a few days anyway?
To my understanding, there are several people here who still have Pokemon from previous times they appeared. Even if time together is limited, this world's shenanigans or no, it's still important to build memories we can all cherish together.

[Darc glances back to his Pokemon. When they realize they're being looked at, they look back to him with a curious, "Char?" and "Psy?"]
[Something in Darc's expression softens. He returns his attention to the camera.]
I don't agree with you entirely. [Because he's spent so much of his life losing people - not that he wants to mention that.] But...having some sort of companions while we're stuck here might not be so bad. So how do these battles work?
It's quite simple.
[With a dramatic thrust of his arm, he holds up three fingers.]
Three Pokemon! Using official League rules as an example, trainers pick three of their Pokemon and test their moves out on each other. Put your faith in your Pokemon and use your best moves to knock out your opponent. It's about trust and strategy as you aim to be the best!
[Essentially, a straight up fight. Not unlike Pro Wrestling. At rest, he strokes his chin.]
Some view Pokemon battles as violent, but it has been found that battling creates a deep understanding of not just your Pokemon, but in yourself and your opponent.

[Charmander and Psyduck sit up, exclaiming with enthusiasm.]
Three Pokemon, though? I just have these two. We keep encountering wild Pokemon that they can't beat yet. [Charmander and Psyduck look a little sheepish at that.] Maybe I should spar with them to toughen them up.
