Fireworks Party (Mingle)
Who: Anyone, basically! (I can't guarantee what will happen if a character has a warrant out for their arrest or the like.)
What: A summer beach party with fireworks
When: July 5, afternoon-evening
Where: Nova City beach
Pavilions with various contents have been set up all over Nova City Beach. While the actual stars and stripes are nowhere to be seen, there's a lot of red, white, and blue about thanks to Roland's influence. There are water buckets every few dozen feet, and fire extinguishers can be seen tucked away here and there, but because this party was planned out before the Pokemon showed up, their safety precautions have been more rushed. Wherever fireworks are being kept, hastily printed and laminated "no fire" signs have been pinned up, in addition to the usual safety warnings.
Even considering the handful of employees handing out sparklers and poppers, though, there's more to this party than fireworks. One of the pavilions (on the opposite end of the party as the little shop the sponsor set up, of course) has set up a grill station, pumping out burgers and dogs of several varieties, with condiments, sides, and ice-cold non-alcoholic drinks free to pick up, buffet-style.
Some natives from across Nova City even took the opportunity to set up a few carnival-style games across the pavilions, and there's a stage set up for live performances throughout the day. Finally, there's one last pavilion closer to the water than the rest, stocked only with simple laundry baskets of various colors and someone to watch over them, as well as a small screened-off changing area. Guests can deposit their regular clothes and other belongings here if they want to go swimming, and won't have to worry about them blowing away or getting stolen.
As the day wears on, the sun sets, and the sky grows dark, the lights across the area are put out, and the sky lights up with dazzling fireworks. Again, thanks to Roland's influence, there's a lot of red, white, and blue as well as five-pointed stars, though a variety of colors, shapes, and special affects are represented in the display. After the big finale, brilliantly lighting up the beach like lightning, everything wraps up; the guests are encouraged to go home, while those working the party clean up and pack up the equipment and pavilions.

Myrrh (OTA)
Of all the things she could be doing, she absolutely refuses to go near the water. Because her wings are always present, she runs the risk of waves and currents catching her. Instead, she will be found anywhere else, especially the food during the early hours, the carnival games, and some other shows here and there about midway through and the fireworks later in the evening.]
Let's say this is after they eat, but still relatively early in the day?
"Have you ever used one of these before, Myrrh?"
This works. \0/
Taking the one offered to her, she looks it over and notes an odd smell it has and the cartoonish illustrations on the casing.
"I haven't... What are these? Some kind of torch?"

Roland Crane, Open
As he glances down at his legs, he gives a small frown; were his legs really that skinny when he was younger? (No, no they are not, Roland is just being his own worst critic.) Still, he can't stay self-conscious for long, so goes to explore and enjoy the party.
Toward the beginning of the party, Roland can be found enjoying a late lunch, packing away several burgers. (Hey, he's young again and getting plenty of exercise, his metabolism can take it!) Afterward he just walks around the party, enjoying himself and helping others. He tries his hand at most of the games that have been set up; in true carnival game fashion, most of them are basically scams with little chance of winning anything (and he's aware of that), but he has fun with them anyway.
During the warmest part of the day, he tosses his shirt in one of the baskets to paddle around in the ocean, though not very deep, and he comes back to dry land with enough time to be dry by sunset. As the sky grows darker, he lays out a blanket to lie back on and enjoy the fireworks, and gets up to help pack up the party once they're done.

The only place you won't find him is in the water.]

Hey, take a picture of us both doing this in front of the sign.
[A bad influence, he is.]

[Mera Mera bro powers, activate! Ace stands with Sabo, burning finger gun time, thankfully without shooting off any little fireballs near the fireworks. It takes a couple of tries to get a decent selfie that gets both of them and the sign in the picture but it is worth it.
Yeah, they're badasses. Look at the two of them, sticking it to the authorities.]

When the picture is taken, he calls back his flame and laughs.]
I hope nobody else saw this. Might get in some trouble if they had!
