[A caped man appears on the video. His outfit is bold and bright, all gold and red and lit up from within. He speaks with a sense of urgency as if of an imminent danger.]

I want you all to listen to me. I am Mysterio, one of The Avengers.

There appears to have been a rip in time and space and I have found myself unexpectedly dropped into your world.

But I cannot stay here. I need to go back and save the Earth. This is imperative. Anyone, if you can hear me, show me the way or portal to leave this world. The sooner I can leave, the more lives can be saved.

Numbering system helps with parallel dimensions. I should consider that. But there's never much time in the thick of it.

[he leans back on his spinny chair and throws a few kernels of popcorn in his mouth]

The funny thing about this place is, it's both easy and difficult to leave. People seem to disappear at will --either theirs or whatever force bought us here. Others long to leave but are stuck.

[It was a bit of information to process but he put aside more questions in favour of answering the latter.]

No, it was a moniker given by the people of Earth-616. They thought me a man of mystery when I appeared in their world to fight the Elementals and so the name stuck: Mysterio.

My name is no secret. I am Quentin Beck. Pleased to meet you as well.

What are you a Professor of?

Beck. [he salutes him with popcorn before throwing it in his mouth] I'll probably forget it at some point, but I might not. You never know.

What exactly are the Elementals?

As for what I'm the Professor of... [he grins] What've you got?

That's rather vague.

[He remarks about possible professors. But then he has his own vagueness and secrets.]

Our scientists had a technical term for them but basically they are destructive creatures made up of the four elements: fire, air, earth and water. It was fire that destroyed my Earth. They grow until they become unstoppable.

No darkness?

[He looks grim.]

Maybe you can say darkness was the last of them once all life was extinguished from the world and the planet left in ashes.

[Grumble.] More'n just death and you know it...

[But to Mysterio:] Sorry, Really I am. I've seen a lot of... Earths go the hard way. Never easy, yeah?

It's why I need to get back to Earth-616 as soon as I can.

Soon is meaningless here. Time is paused, orrrrr rather, we're in a dimension outside of the corollary time to all dimensions, yeah??

That, as a concept, will take some getting used to.

It gets easier. It took me nearly a year to just get used to... [Purses her lips together...] Things sticking... believe it or not.

Before here, just like... barely before here with only a teeeeeeensy weensy sliver in between, where I was, it always seemed like I could just...

[Crosses her eyes, thinking of how to convey it and sighs.] Alternate universes, yeah? And timelines. People could barely see me, hear me, recognize me, and I could barely touch reality there. It was like I was a ghost, and trying to stop a timeline from succumbing to the Darkness was... like drowning in quicksand. And even if people recognized me, if I messed up too much... I'd just jump again. Forward, backward, sideways, do my best to set things better, yeah?

Can't do that here. It's good... not being all... out of sync with everyone else. Really good. I don't think I hated anything quite like that, yeah? But it's also... tender. I was very angry with my best friend and couldn't handle him the way I really wanted to. We'd hurt each other too much and I couldn't get him to back off, and it just made me angrier...

[Waves a hand and snorts.] Just, take my word for it, yeah? It gets a lot easier than you'd think. Took me a year but -- [Weak grin!] Ask anyone. I'm as stubborn as they come. It's probably even easier for someone who doesn't feel the need to fight everything at every turn, yeah?

[She was certainly full of information freely given and while a lot of it didn't seem to make sense to him, he listened politely, nodding at intervals to show that he was indeed taking it all in.]

So this place fixes some problems, in a way.

Are you telling me, though, that you've been here for a year?

[bigbadrose]

[Yes, no, maybe.]

[Eh.......]

Two, actually. Goin' on my third end o' this month. I'm not in a big rush to leave. I have my parents and a clone of my sort of now-ex boyfriend to get back to, but that's just... a great big mess. So I'm fine with just enjoying whatever time I've got here, yeah?

Besides... they could all hypothetically come here. But it's way less likely, because even though they have traveled multiverse, and this place does seem to latch more onto people like us, but then they probably would have sooner??? I think. Yeah. Because now if they come, it's ... it'd be a mess either way, but more of one now.

I was one of the last soldiers left to fight, then the Elementals moved on to Earth-616. I vowed ro not let what happen to my world happen to them too.

That is actually a good point. Maybe there is a reason that I am here.

In my experience, there usually is. Instead of asking how can I get out, instead focus on, why am I here? What can I do? How can I learn? If nothing else you might help the other captives figure out a few things about their own situation.

They say you either die a hero or live long enough to really regret -- things. [he was going to say 'you hadn't', but he knows better than that with Rose lurking around]

OH GOD! Don't do that!!!! I'll NEVAR remember if we start with numbers!!! I barely passed maths with Mickey's help as it is, and do you know how hard it was to deal with binary?! Binary, Doctor. BINARY! Even morse code is less of a headache, and that's bloody saying something.

Can't we just stick to my music system? If this band exists in this time and is still called the same thing and has the same songs, then they're collectively in a sort of--
