[ Hey look, it's another teenager! A totally and completely normal teenager that has managed to scrounge up some clothes that aren't just whatever the hell he was wearing under his suit. Looks like a hoodie and some kind of shirt that looks like it might be nerdy? He tried for a nerdy aesthetic, anyway, which is hard when he doesn't even know what nerd culture looks like here. He's seated outside in Nova City somewhere, trying to figure out what to do next.
Anyway. He. Waves awkwardly? ]
Hey, um. I'd ask if people really just introduce themselves online like this without making it like "Welcome to My Star Wars Vlog And/Or Podcast" but I went back and looked at a bunch of posts and I guess that's exactly what it is? Which is cool. But weird? I'm weirded out.
[ Focus, Peter. Maybe breathe a little. He looks incredibly awkward, which is still only 50% of the Awkward Peter Parker Experience. ]
Anyway, I'm Peter Parker! I just got here like. A couple hours ago? And I have one really super important question.
[ Pause. Try not to look too excited. Look incredibly excited. ]
Did I see something about Pokémon? Like, actual physical Pokémon? Is that real or is this some super convincing AR thing? Because I'm down with both but if it's the first kind I am literally going to explode.

[ But yeah, okay, enough teasing. He wants to see. ]
You got it. One, two ...

[ And with that, Gwen releases her Pokemon. It's a Fennekin, one that looks around at the situation and then heads over to Gwen, headbutting her on the leg affectionately and looking up at her before turning to look at Peter, tilting his head slightly. ]
Isn't he awesome?!
no subject
Oh my god. He's amazing. All of this is amazing.
no subject
[ Gwen crouches down to look at her Fennekin, gracefully and expertly balanced on her toes. She doesn’t even wobble when her Pokémon comes over and leans against her leg. It’s the sudden jump into her lap that knocks her down, but maybe she did that on purpose? Her arms go around the furry boy and she hugs him gently. ]
Hi, buddy. I’m gonna give you an awesome name, and I’m gonna take a page from Ash Ketchum’s book and you’re never going on your pokeball again unless it’s really necessary.
no subject
Yeah. Yeah, it's - crazy. Amazing. In a good way.
[ He bends down too, still petting his Rowlet. Not nearly as graceful as she is; he has to kind of flop down onto his butt. ]
What are you gonna name him?
no subject
[ Please get the reference. ] Because he’s a fire type? And he’s so calm.
[ A look of concern appears on her face and she looks down at Iroh. ]. You’re not being calm because you’re afraid, are you?
[ Nope. His tail is wagging and he’s purring and making chirping sounds. He’s good. ]
What about you?
no subject
Perfect. Maybe he likes tea too.
[ Is tea poisonous to Pokémon? He sure hopes not. Anyway, he looks at his Rowlet again, just beaming over at him. ]
I dunno. He's so fancy, don't you think? Like a tiny feathered butler.
no subject
[ And in a few weeks time when they discover he’s an impish jerk, it’s Alfred Prankworth. ]
no subject
Owlfred. Owlfred Pennyworth.
no subject
It’s perfect.
no subject
Good, 'cause that's what I'm calling him.
[ Owlfred certainly seems pleased. He leans over, butting up against Peter's chin. ]
no subject
[ Gwen asks as she stands, holding Iroh close and tucking the ball into her backpack. ]
I can hear most of the other PEter Parkers I know doing the same thing. I can guarantee that if they got their hands on a Spinarak, they'd name it Shelob or Aragog.
[ Good to hear some things never change. ]
Let's find our residences. And food. I'm kinda starving.
no subject
[ But in the meantime, he's not putting Owlfred back in his pokeball either. Hopefully the little guy stays put while they're moving here. ]
Ditto. Your place first? Since I think we're closer.
no subject
[ And Gwen is off, finding the nearest person that isn't wearing one of the necklaces and asking them where to find wherever it is she's staying. And Gwen is quick to memorize the directions, heading off soon enough in the route provided and ending up...
Pretty impressed with the building just from the outside. ]
So...I don't know of any villain lairs that are this flashy unless you're like...Lex Luthor.
[ Her nose wrinkles and Iroh notices, sniffing Gwen's neck and making the girl cringe away with a faint huff of laughter. ]
I really hope my landlord isn't him. I'd be pretty angry.
[ But inside she goes, right to her apartment where she stands outside the door and just listens. ]
This place is kinda empty. I don't hear anyone else. Do you?
no subject
I don't either. Maybe it really is yours.
[ He's impressed. ]
no subject
[ She's not sure she's trusting it entirely just yet. So she drops her backpack onto the ground outside her door, reaches in and starts fumbling with the arms of her suit, glancing around as she does so and occasionally having to move Iroh out of her bag.
He's kinda nosey. She can appreciate that. But not right now.
Eventually, she has one of her webshooters attached to her wrist and she's standing again, turning the lock in the door and pushing it open with the toe of her boot, waiting a second before peeking in carefully. ]
What the what?
[ Her family may be fans of The Amazing World of Gumball. Stepping in and abandoning all caution, she vaguely motions for Peter to follow, setting Iroh down again who immediately gets a mad case of the zoomies. Gwen doesn't notice. This place has her kinda stunned.]
Holy hell.
no subject
But fortunately neither of them need their shooters. He follows Gwen in, turning slowly. Owlfred is content to flutter to a perch somewhere in the room where he can watch Iroh zoom to his heart's content. ]
Dude. Dude. This is the fanciest place I've ever seen. And Tony Stark gave me a tour of Avengers headquarters in upstate New York.
no subject
[ She's going to give herself a tour of the place as she talks, Iroh zooming in and out of any door she opens. Two bedrooms. A good sized bathroom. And a spare room that she can already picture a drum kit in. And room to dance. ]
Your Tony Stark is associated with the avengers? The one in my world owns Stark Industries, a coffee chain called Starkbucks and a private military.
[ Mutliverse, can you chill for thirty seconds please. ]
no subject
Starkbucks? Seriously? Are you kidding me right now?
no subject
Nope.
[ And now she's swinging out of the bedroom door, using the door frame to swing and attaching herself to the wall across the hall for a moment before stepping down. ]
I worked in one for a couple months, and then got fired for leaving in the middle of a shift. In my defense...
[ Back into the bathroom to check it out, still talking. ]
There was a bank robbery and a car chase.
[ And now she's back, Iroh running up to her and settling at her feet. ]
Duty called. I prioritized the safety of New York over Susan the Soccer Mom's triple venti soy no sugar mocha latte with extra whipped cream.
no subject
[ He leans against one of the walls, watching her and Iroh run around. ]
I mostly did small stuff before Thanos happened. Like, giving directions and stopping bike thieves. The first bank robbery I stopped went wrong, like, instantly.
Feel free to do the next time skip.
[ They’re actually a bit stressful, but okay maybe they’re a little fun. ]
I’m really liking this apartment.
[ Iroh rounds a corner, skidding to a stop next to Gwen and looking up at her. He may be sitting still, but Gwen can tell just by looking that he might zoom off again. ]
The
Let’s go find your place.
you got it
[ So gather up that Pokémon, they've got a bit of a hike ahead of them. Back to Genessia city, up to where this Matisse place is.
It's honestly still better than anywhere Peter has ever lived in his life. He and his aunt got better accommodations after the Stark internship happened, but New York is expensive even if you do have Tony Stark backing you up. And like hell he was ever going to ask Stark for even a single cent more than what was being offered to him.
But ... it is not nearly as cool as Gwen's place. As soon as Peter opens the door it's obvious that this is a normal (if nice) place, with one. Uh. Interesting variation? Namely that half wall for the "bedroom" area. ]
I think this is a studio or something?
no subject
Honestly, this felt like asking for a puppy for your birthday and getting a dollar store plushie instead. It was almost insulting. Almost. ]
So uh...I have an idea. You can feel free to say no, but just. Hear me out. Okay?
[ Seriously this place wouldn’t work for her after being teased with Eden. ]
My place has security. Like. Some really cool security. This place does not. And I know; we are both capable of handling our own. But with your creeper friend in town, the place with security would probably be worlds better. Not to mention I have a spare bedroom. And there’s room for Alfred and Iroh to run around in.
no subject
But she has a really good point about security, especially since Mysterio is here and already poking into where Peter is living and working and. Ugh, he really could use some level of help here. ]
Are you sure? Isn't it gonna be weird sharing an apartment with an AU of your friend?
