Hello again.

I have had some time to to explore and familiarize myself with this world and I'm impressed with the technology here - at least in Nova City. It's far beyond what I've seen before yet it's also lacking. That's why I am going to work for and with Aster Technologies and we can combine our knowledge to do great things.

Now, I know, I introduced myself as Mysterio when I first arrived and that is indeed a name I am known by but let's have a proper introduction now, shall we?

That you continue to fight is admirable as well. Humankind's ability to press on, regardless of despair, defeat, and doubt, is one of its greatest strengths.

It does seem that way. However, we would be wise to remain vigilant all the same. I have been told that the supposed spirits that manage this place brought us here to observe life, but some suspect ulterior motives.

Oh, I'm human, although perhaps with more special talents than most.

What can you tell me about these spirits?

I'm afraid I already have. This was mentioned to me when I first arrived in Genessia, and I have not seen anymore of it yet, myself.

I heard that there are unthinkable creatures beyond the barriers. Do you know anything about them?

You are referring to the beings called void spirits, correct? Again, I know only what is available to other denizens. When encountered, the void spirits begin to absorb the very essence of the victim - their memories, emotions, even their sense of morality.

Sounds dangerous. Targeting the individual instead of their surroundings...

Indeed, they seek more than rampant destruction. They have not infiltrated the city in my time here, and I should hope that does not change. Though, as deputy to the Guardian, I stand ready in case it does. As you likely will as well, as a warrior yourself.

Is it common in your universe for warriors to choose monikers, such as "Mysterio"?

Well, for one thing, I didn't choose the name. When I arrived to fight the Elementals the people called me a man of mystery. Hence: Mysterio.

I adopted the name from there.

But yes, many heroes have alternate names, such as Thor, known as the God of Thunder. Literally. Or others such as Captain America or Iron Man.

Others don't even want the world to know their real name.

Why do they hide their identities?

I really couldn't say. I suppose they have their reasons to conceal their identities.

As you can see, I have not.

Yes. There is a noble honesty to that. My universe also has heroes - humans who, as you say, "have more special talents than most." Though known by most as the Nephalem, they retain their own names. Perhaps you are not so different from them. What is the nature of your abilities?

I suppose you could call them mystical... with tech integration.

An integration of mystic and machine...fascinating. Though magic is prevalent in the human realm, there are no such machines as the ones found in Nova City. Or even the communication devices we are using now. It is a marvel to have achieved so much without even a spark of magic. Is it your intention to further this integration with your work?

Yes, I plan to focus on my tech. Further it.

I can't get into details here as I have to first find out exactly what Aster as company has to offer for me.

[There's a nod of understanding] You humans are adaptable. It is another of your strengths. Whatever your opportunities are, Quentin Beck, may they prove fruitful. I hope, perhaps, to see some of your machinery - your..."tech" one day.

I wonder, if "tech" and magic can be integrated, if they are not so dissimilar from each other...

Yes. I will keep you no longer. Though curiosity is not common among angels, I think that is what I'm feeling regarding your work.

I am sure we will speak again, once I have my work more established here.
