[Mikasa has been has already been here for a few hours at least, but she decided not to bother using this device she was given just yet. The necklace lied hidden underneath her red scarf since apparently it was important. After looking into matters, she finally decided to flip it on.]

Walls. These are just... more walls to hide in. Nothing is different here. Nothing.

[and with that very vague feed, she cuts it off without so much of an introduction or any questions. There might not be real walls surrounding them, but they were trapped here against their own wills. That seemed like a prison to her. That was all she needed to know. Now she just had to see if anybody she knew was here.]

[Now that he was starting to settle down a little he was realizing he'd been grilling Mikasa for information rather aggressively and he couldn't help but feel a bit guilty about that.]

Well who ever brought us here at least let you keep your gear. So there's that. I'm ready to head out and explore if you are.

[Considering what they were doing before they were brought here...? Yeah... It was pretty important to have it.]

Where is your gear?

[She hadn't even thought to look for that yet.]

[Yeaaah that was going to give them both more headaches to say the least once they got around to piecing together the truth pertaining to that detail.]

I took it off when I went to bed last night. The operation was in the morning so I wasn't going to sleep with it on. Though that doesn't explain how come you have yours. You didn't have it on at dinner.

[Most likely.]

Oh. [That would explain why but.. And then it dawns on her.] Dinner? I... What?

Eren... The last thing I remember was confronting Annie about being that one titan... We were about to go underground and I must have blacked out and ended up here.

[And there's the shoe dropping. His brows furrow and he looks at Mikasa.]

Confronting Annie? But that was what feels like ages ago.

[Hang on if that was the last thing she remembered and he remembered that being in the past...no way. That couldn't be possible.]

You...you're somehow from the past? Or did they mess with your mind?

[Wait.... This... Confronting Annie was from the past to Eren but... how did that make sense? Eren was right with her when she was there. Would have been good if someone had informed her about the time differences here. That's one thing she hadn't thought of.]

How is that possible? Eren you... you were right by me... It just happened a few hours ago.

[It didn't. At least not for two people coming from a less developed world than the one they currently found themselves in.]

For me that was weeks ago. A lot's happened since Annie. Like Ymir and those two bastards who tried to take me to their village after the battle at the castle.

[This made no sense but Mikasa wasn't showing signs of being any different from her usual self. ]

[Mikasa was about to question how that was even possible when she knew exactly what had happened a few hours ago until she heard about people trying to take Eren. It had been clear what part caught her interest by that look she was giving to nobody in particular.]

Come again. You were almost kidnapped?

[There was no way she would forget that.]

[Eren had no idea how but it definitely happened. Either that or somehow they had erased her memories. But no he knew all too well what it was like to have gaps in ones memory and Mikasa wasn't showing any of those.]

Almost. Commander Erwin and everyone used a crazy plan that involved bringing wild Titans towards Reiner and Bert to hold them down. It was crazy...and a lot of people died...

[Oh god she had no idea what happened to Hannes then. He suddenly regretted opening his mouth.]

[A lot of people died... That was an understatement where they came from...]

He does come up with crazy plans.... [Like the forest thing....] I suppose that comes with a price though...

[This time it had been a massacre and the losses had lost them even more favor with the king. Let alone the power Eren had demonstrated at the time when all seemed lost.]

Yeah. But after that we've been on the run from the military police and anyone serving under the king.

[Yes he was going to skip out on Hannes' fate or try his damn best to do so.]

.... On the run...

[Mikasa would do anything for Eren, that was for sure, but if they had to run from military police and anybody serving the king, than clearly it must have been something big. Not that they hadn't had their close calls plenty of other times.]

....Why?

[He looks at his open hand before closing it into a fist. Should he really be telling her all these things? No that's a pointless worry while they are both here.]

We've touched on secrets the higher ups don't want to know. Like Historia I mean Christa being related to the royal family.

[He pauses for a moment.]

Or this power that dad probably gave me.

[He wasn't talking about his Titan form though he was likely too vague to get that across properly.]

[It was clear she missed a lot or she just didn't remember, but Mikasa didn't really think of herself as having bad memory. Christa being related to the royal family was news, but something that didn't particularly interest Mikasa too much without actually knowing the rest of the story. She should inquire about it from Eren, but she partially just wanted to call it good for the time being unless there had been an actual reason to know.]

The power.... Did you discover what that key was for?

{He shook his head at her question. Hah the key. God that really got laid on the wayside what with the conspiracy they got caught up in within the walls.]

No. We still haven't made it beyond the forest of giants since that mess with Annie. It's funny really. You'd think we'd be safe inside the walls but now we're hunted there too.

[He chuckles a little but it's clear that he's not amused at all.]

It was something else. Something that woke inside me when we finally found the titan that ate mom...

[The titan that ate mom... They found it? She hadn't been Mikasa's real mother by any means, but she had taken her in as if she were her daughter. Being forced to leave by Hannes was tough when she had been eaten, but Mikasa understood. But they had found the titan again...]

What happened?

[Vengeance landed in his lap without any real effort on his part. Fate was a fickle mistress to say the least. Though the fact that the grinning bastard had claimed Hannes as well before he finally dealt the retribution that monster rightfully deserved still soured that after the fact.]

I still can't remember everything. But you had gotten hurt. You even said some stupid things that sounded a lot like last words.

[That was likely the trigger point. Like hell he was going to allow himself or Mikasa to die then.]

So I got up and when the Titan threw a punch my way...I punched back. I know it's stupid. But next thing I know a bunch of the surrounding Titans were tackling that guy and eating him alive. Like attack dogs who'd been given the command to kill. I....I gave that command. I don't know how but I did.

[There were obviously many troubling thing about what he just said to her. The fact they'd found the titan.... And while she didn't know about Hannes, she had gotten hurt. Had she really done something so reckless to cause a near death? Well, if it was for Eren, it wasn't as surprising.

But she'd almost died nonetheless. Or maybe she did end up dying. Who's to say when she didn't know any of this? And then at the mention of him giving the command somehow, she stopped walking. He... he could command them to do that...? It sounded like it came in handy in the end, but Mikasa was more concerned about how he'd been able to do it somehow.

If he could do that without knowing how to in the first place, it just meant that he was slowly starting to become more like Annie. The thought that he might someday lose control of himself completely as a titan scared her.]

Eren.... Has it happened after that...? What happened to us after it?

[Annie never lost control. Her and the other Titan Shifters knew exactly what they were doing. They moved with a purpose. And that purpose had been him all along thanks to whatever his father had done to him.]

Commander Erwin made use of the confusion and made us all retreat. Reiner and Bert tried to follow us but when I yelled at them to not come any closer they just stopped in their tracks and then the other titans swarmed over them like rabid hungry dogs. We haven't seen them or Ymir since.

[Hopefully that would put her worries to rest. She had survived and so had he.]

[No, but she was far more skilled at it than Eren was. She had more control and yet there had been many instances that showed that Eren sometimes didn't have total control. The scar on her cheek was proof as if she needed any. What was to say that it only got worse here on out? Unless he gained more control during the time gap?

So there were more. That didn't seem unlikely because there were the other 2 titans that nobody knew about yet at her time point. And to think they were posing as allies the entire time. It made her blood boil.

It had put a little bit of her worries to rest, but not much. She was still worried. She was still hurt at the fact that people she'd called a comrade could really have been enemies. It just went to show how messed up their world was. Or how they were never likely to be truly happy. She didn't say anything, but it was clear it was bothering her.]

[Seeing how his words sent her so deep into thought he had to question once again if he had made the right choice to tell her about these things.

Mikasa was strong. Stronger than him when it came to fighting titans. However if anyone knew how fragile she could be it was definitely Eren. Even he had refused to believe that Annie Bertholdt and Reiner had been those three titans that had caused them so much grief. But when they just flat out revealed themselves the way they did, it was past the point were denial was viable.]

Mikasa?

[He asked trying to bring her back to reality instead of letting her spiral into the mire of dark emotions she was likely feeling right now.]

[Part of her would have liked to go along with "ignorance is bliss" and act like she'd never heard this, but she knew that would do no good. In the world they lived in, ignorance was more likely to get you killed than anything else.

She'd gone through enough trauma throughout her life that she'd defaulted on just going numb. If she could just stop feeling... she wouldn't succumb to the darkness that she knew was always around. If she mourned every death that happened, no matter how close the person may have been to her, it would do her no good. That's not to say she didn't mourn those who were killed. But she knew if she allowed herself to feel that sadness every time it happened, nothing would get done and things would just get harder every day.]

I'm okay. I'm sorry to worry you.

[Worry him. Well that was one way to look at it though he didn't like seeing her like this. In fact it made him angry in a way. So he decided to try and drop that topic altogether.]

So where were you anyway when you first heard me on this thing?

[He pointed to his own device.]

[It's probably for the best that it was dropped for now and Mikasa was okay with that.]

I'm... not sure, but we're going to have to think about a place to stay and what we'll do here on out.

[Showing the pamphlet to him.]

[He took the pamphlet and proceeded to read through it briefly only to pause when she mentioned living arrangements. That's right. That would be something to take care of now that they were in the corps.]

Hmmm you're right. I guess we should check with one of the Inn's there has to be one around these parts.
