[ It's probably not unusual for newbies to pop up on the network to introduce themselves, so the young woman in the video, clutching her box of supplies, probably doesn't look too out of place. Newbie is definitely apt -- if you squint behind her while she's talking, it doesn't look like she's wandered too far away from the Bay yet. When she realizes that she is indeed broadcasting, she sort of fumbles for a moment, looking a bit... harrassed? But then finally, she just sighs and gives a slightly stilted smile. ]
Hello...? You'll have to excuse me, I'm not exactly sure how to start this off. I'm a new arrival and I've just heard what Schnee-san's hologram had to say, so I thought it might not be a bad idea to introduce myself.
My name is Yuuri Wakasa. Mostly, I'm hoping to find anyone else who knows me who might have arrived first. [ She pauses for a moment like she's trying to decide exactly who she should be asking for before deciding on: ] Yuki Takeya, Kurumi Ebisuzawa, Miki Naoki or Kei Shidou – if there's anyone here by any of those names, please let me know. Oh – I'd... hope it's not very likely, but if there's a young girl here going by Haruna Wakasa then please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
[ She's doing a pretty good job at pretending she's calm, given that she feels like she's halfway to a panic attack, but the way she's fidgeting with the pendant at her neck might give her away a bit. But that's perfectly normal for a newbie, right? Why wouldn't she be nervous? ]
I also know we're supposed to get ourselves work as soon as we can, so I thought I'd ask – what sort of work is available right now? It looks like I'll be living in Fayren for the time being so that's where I'll be looking first. I'm very good at gardening and cooking, but I'm happy to try anything that needs doing.

[ Despite her words, though, she's clearly relieved and there's none of the usual lightness to her tone. ]
Well, that and... I thought it might raise a few less questions than the alternative. Just in case.

Not hurt, are we? It would be a shame if I had to throw hands or swords immediately upon arrival.

[ for obvious reasons. ]
What about you?

... I haven't heard from anyone else yet. Have you?

GOOD CHOICE! FAYREN IS THE CITY CONTAINING THE ONE AND ONLY GREAT GUARDIAN PAPYRUS!! WHO HAS LOTS OF WORK AVAILABLE!!!
I KNOW WHERE YOU'RE COMING FROM. I'M A GREAT GARDENER AND CHEF TOO!!
[It's not a lie if he doesn't know he's wrong!]
IN THAT CASE, YOU SHOULD CONSIDER WORKING FOR ME!!! I'M STILL IN NEED FOR A FEW DEPUTIES, IF YOU'RE GOOD AT FIGHTING AND JUSTICE!! OR A SECRETARY, IF YOU'RE GOOD AT PAPERWORK AND PR!!!
BUT IF YOU REALLY, REALLY LIKE GARDENING, I HAVE A RANCH WITH LOTS OF SPACE FOR THAT!! IT'S IN WINDGATE CREEK, NOT FAYREN, SADLY, BUT I CAN TAKE YOU THERE VERY FAST!!
video
Ah, I'm not really much of a fighter but I'm very good at paperwork. And I'm sure I could learn about PR, if you're really in need of someone.
What exactly are you growing at this ranch, though? If you need someone to manage that, then I'd be more than happy to do it.
Re: video
OH, YOU'RE SURE? MAYBE YOU'RE JUST OUT OF PRACTICE!! WE COULD FIGHT IF YOU NEED TO GET SOME CONFIDENCE!! EVEN IF I WIN, WHICH IS VERY LIKELY, YOU'D STILL BE IN SECOND PLACE TO ME!! A DISTINGUISHED HONOR IN ITS OWN RIGHT!!!
YEAH, PR WOULD BE EZ-PZ!! YOU JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE LIKE US AND EVERYTHING WE DO. SO YOU'D HARDLY HAVE TO DO ANYTHING AT ALL!
[Don't bet on it.]
OH, THAT'S SIMPLE: VEGETABLES!! BLOOD-RED TOMATOES! PEARLESCENT ONIONS!! VERIDIAN HERBS!!
[And others that, incredibly, may not pair well with spaghetti.]
AND YOU WON'T BE ALONE!! THE GREAT RANCHER ROMANI IS WORKING THE FIELDS AS WE SPEAK!! AND I'VE PRACTICALLY GOT A ZOO OF HELPERS READY TO PLOW IT UP, WITH MORE ON THE WAY!!
[He's harnessed the power of child labor and dangerous animals beaten into servitude. As all great ranch-owners do.]
no subject
Vegetables are what I'm most experienced with growing – well, aside from flowers. So if you're happy to give me a trial run then I'm sure I'll be able to help.
What sort of work do you need doing there most? It sounds like you have a lot of the physical labor covered, so are you looking for someone more on the organizational side of things?
no subject
THAT'S GREAT TO HEAR!!! YOU'RE CORRECT, ONCE I'VE GOT ENOUGH POKES, THE FARMING WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF!! IT'S THE LOGISTICS THEY CAN'T DO THOUGH. SELLING, FINDING OUT WHAT VEGETABLES ARE THE MOST POPULAR, TAKING THE V'GIES TO AND FRO...THAT'S THE PART THAT NEEDS A HUMAN, ANGEL, MONSTER, OR DEMON TOUCH!!!
[That covers all the sentient races right?]
BUT IF YOU GO THERE, JUST DON'T GO INTO THE FOREST, OKAY? IT GIVES ME A BAD FEELING...

[hey girl]

Sometimes being practical is all that gets you through. I take it you've just arrived as well?
no subject
[yeah weird that]
You're alright, then?
no subject
[ She doesn't even need to finish that thought for it to be clear as day what she means. Just because it doesn't seem like anything's different really doesn't mean that's necessarily the case. ]
How about you?
no subject
[Yeah, he's right there with her. He isn't ready to just trust this outright. It seems safe enough. Who knows if that's true or not.]
I'm just fine. Other than the sudden change in location, I haven't noticed anything off. So that's... good. I suppose.

Video
[Satou spies the Bay in the background and begins walking that way. She already patrols Genessia on a regular basis for precisely this reason, after all.]
I know it’s overwhelming at first... Oh, and my name is Satou Kuroneko. I’m the Guardian of Genessia City. Basically means that I’m here to help you feel safe!
video
Easier said than done, Yuuri thinks but doesn't say. It'd be cruel, when this girl sounds so sincere about wanting to help and it's not her fault that Yuuri is, to put it kindly, a bit of a mess. So instead she smiles and dips her head in a nod. ]
Then, it's nice to meet you too, Kuroneko-san. I take it you've been here for a while, if you've ended up with such an important position.
no subject
[She admits with a guilty tone. When Satou heard people say they'd been in Genessia for years, she had been disheartened... Honestly, it stings to hear it come from her mouth now.]
We're all in the same situation, so we've gotta help each other out! Don't be afraid to ask for anything, 'kay?

I'll make sure to let you know if I'm having any problems. I think for the most part though, I'm going to focus on settling in and then see what I can learn about this place – I mean, if I'm here, it's best to learn as much as I can.
Whereabouts would be the best place for that?
video;
Though if you had panicked or anything, that would have been considered normal.
video
[ Which sounds like a good attitude to have but in reality is probably the cause of around 99.9% of her problems. ]
video
[Never arrive in October. This is something he has learned when he first arrived. Was nota fun time.]
Means thigs are more calming and much easier to adapt.
video
[ The change in her demeanor is like a switch flipped – she goes from at least passing as relatively calm to looking edgy and anxious in about half a second. ]
What... sort of bad do you mean, exactly?
video
[he paused for a moment.]
Though it didn't last long, just was the least fun thing to come into for someone who cannot defend themselves.
