Good evening. This unit's identifier is "Gynoid Support Unit 24", alias "Essei".

This unit, as is apparently rather normal, did not expect to be brought to this place. It has also observed that there are beings from multiple worlds and timelines among here, based on descriptions.

Based on this, this unit must ask if any viewers of this message recognize the name "Uloa"; if so, please provide proper context to determine if you have connections to this unit's past.

This unit must additionally pursue a worthy master to serve; excessive independent operation poses a risk of undesirable complications. By which this unit means a murderous psychopathic remnant of an enemy of the Empire may attempt to take control, and usually lash out by attempting to kill things. This is an unpleasant experience this unit would care to avoid.

Separate from both of these concerns, general assistance adapting to this environment would be handy. This unit has observed the hologram, but, well, that only helps so much.

This unit isn't aware of any environmental problems that are out of its range to mitigate. Thankfully, it seems like dress code ranges here are pretty open, so this unit can just stick to its uniform.

This unit has found that reaction is fairly common in civilizations that are not the Empire. Thus why a nickname was chosen by a previous master's adventuring party. This unit does not prefer it, but understands.

As for why - in short, it's because this unit was developed for service. Its capacity for independent operation is limited and designed to encourage it to get back to service rapidly. Long periods of independent operation can lead to problematic coding failures.

Which in turn can lead to aformentioned murderous remnant taking control. Which is bad for all involved. This unit prefers to be alive.

The fact that the Empire does not have any presence here is... Unsurprising to this unit. There are complications around its existence in the modern day of this unit's homeworld.

This unit was preparing to travel in that direction. It has also been notified that employment is a standard concern here. This unit is trying to work out what it can do there - it is designed to aid adventurers, which means it may lack skills relevant to ordinary employment.

"Interests" isn't quite the word this unit would use, but worth noting.

It's more about this unit's intended purpose and adapting it to the situation. It's own interests are secondary to these concerns, which if they're not quite applicable requires adaptation.

This would not be the first time this unit has encountered that.

This unit meant, more than anything, that if there are answers specific to this unit's specific conundrum in books from a world entirely disconnected from the Sacred Empire of Uloa, the implications would be more than a little terrifying. This unit is fairly certain more groups like Uloa would be a bad thing, even if Uloa itself was good for its world.

The value of reading as a whole is not to be understated, of course.

It was one. But wasn't. Because of timeline incidents, it half-erased itself from history. This unit was spared this due to being in storage at the time.
