Log - First Chapter
Who: Blake Belladonna // OPEN
Where: The Library
When: Night of September 12th
Summary: Blake is still restless after being dropped off in a strange new world. Her only real solace are her friends but also books. Sleep deprived still, she tries to find any useful knowledge in the texts and pages.
[Upon arrival, not only did Blake realize her friends were somehow behind her in time but also that a ghost from her past was there. Possibly to haunt her or possibly to taunt her.The main killer was the people who already said she had been there before.
Tired as she may be, Blake certainly would of remembered that she would of been in a place like Genessia but sadly, she didn't. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise or perhaps a curse. It was far too early to tell just yet.
During the night, still unable to decently sleep, Blake left the comfort of the apartment Weiss and Yang were kind enough to put her in. It made the transition a little easier to have them with her especially after encountering Adam and this Lucifer fellow that Weiss warned her about. She had yet to see Sun, if he really WAS there, as well as Professor Ozpin.
That worried her... How such a high level Hunter was able to be just as clueless as them...
Quietly she left the building, hands full with the map of hers she was given and circled in red was her destination. The Library.
Making her way, though getting slightly lost, Blake peeked in through the doors before pushing them ad stepping inside. The familiar scent of pages was actually a great comfort as well but the only downside with comfort was it made her realize just how exhausted she was and how heavy her eyelids felt that were red with dark bags under her eyes.
Shaking her head in an attempt to wake up, she pushed through and stared down a line of books.]
Gotta stay awake. No time for getting sleepy just yet.

admittedly, adam hadn't had time for books or anything of the sort before. he hadn't even learned to read until a certain cat had taught him how. after that point, it was basically him, blake, and the occasional bedtime stories from tukson.
but now, he was here for different reasons as well. he had a book in hand, the page he was about to turn fell short of its destination. he held it there, but only because he could have sworn he heard blake's voice. he didn't move, and it wasn't until he spotted her in another aisle of books did he speak up.]
Have you even slept yet? [his voice was loud and it echoed throughout the empty library, but they were the only ones in here anyway.]
no subject
Under her bow, her ears twitched and for a moment she silently cursed that she was too occupied [and tired] to have even heard anyone, let alone Adam, in the library with her. She was mostly just used to Ren and he was as quiet as her.
Choosing not to really engage in some more angry spouts he might have towards her, she just continued down her aisle and spoke quietly. To the point and precise.]
Can't sleep when I don't know exactly where I am.
no subject
Fair enough. [he shrugged. he wanted her to go to sleep, but it also wasn't exactly his business to force her to. he knew how much she loved reading, and how often it would keep her up as well.
he didn't know if she would even want to engage him in any sort of conversation, so he simply walked over to one of the many tables in the library, setting down the book he had just grabbed, and took a seat. but he did glance up occasionally to see just what she was grabbing, and if she found her books properly. if she wanted to talk to him, then she would be free to join his table.]
no subject
Shouldn't you be asleep?
[She didn't exactly know what to say to Adam given she was still worried about her 'first' time in this place. What exactly happened? She had no idea ad that was almost a fear. Something obviously happened to make him even madder than she expected him to be after leaving the White Fang.
Shaking her head again, only because she'd drive herself crazy trying to rake her mind for any glimpse of a reminder of a past in this place, Blake grabbed one of the chairs from his table and carried it over to one of the towers of books.
Setting it down, she looked from the seat, hoping it's sturdy, then back up to the book she was after and climbed up. Taking the book, she lingered and tipped her head, reading the rest of the spines.]
no subject
I suppose I'm having the same problem as you, I just can't sleep. [he shrugged lightly, then idly opened his book while he talked to her.]
I haven't slept since I woke back up, after being dead and all.

Of course he was going to pick the latter, since she was new and all. He couldn't say he was surprised when he saw that her destination was the Library. He waited outside for a while to see if she would come back out, when she didn't, he decided to go in after her. He spotted her as she was shaking her head in an attempt to stay awake.]
The books aren't going to go anywhere if you fall asleep, you know.
no subject
From the isle, she had plucked several different books to bring together all while looking for a suitable little corner to possibly nest in.
Her tiredness certainly was getting to her, so much that she hardly heard someone else enter in but once he spoke, she gasped in startle and dropped one of the books that made an echoing and loud thud against the ground.] You scared me--!
[Stealing a glance over towards the voice, she felt a little sheepish and shy in the moment. He might not of remembered but she certainly remembered the dance before coming to this place. It was a ridiculously fun night and from Ball Room Waltz to some kind of weird The Twist, they had done it all with one another throughout the night. Honestly, who knew he could dance?]
It's hard to fall asleep when your mind has too many questions. It's hard to shut them off, too.

Sorry. [He said a little apologetically. He hadn’t been trying to sneak up on her or anything. He was just coming in here to check on her, and it looks like he was right to. She looks tired.]
So then what are you going to do? Just sit in the library all night long reading books? [He moved over to her and bent down to pick up the book that she had just dropped.] Because you won't be doing yourself any favors by doing that. You might even miss some key info in one of these books that you are reading.
no subject
[Watching him come up made her bow twitch just a little in curiosity. She was about to bend to get the book but he, instead, did it for her.] I'm just gathering a collection to read when I can.
Why- aren't you asleep? You know you should be. [Carefully, she took the book from him to place on the stack in her arms before she turned and walked a few steps to the table to set them down. Any other day she could carry a whole dozen of them but with her tiredness getting to her, she could barely hold the six she had. Sadly, she was too stubborn to see that.]
no subject
So you are just picking up these books and you plan on going back to your place or do you plan to stay here?

Eventually, he found himself wondering into the library. That was a safe, neutral location, he evaluated. Perhaps if he found a few books to read he would be distracted enough to lull himself to sleep?
He was a little surprised to see another person in the library as well. An unfamiliar girl who looked tireder than he did. Well, some company never hurt.]
...Good evening, mademoiselle. Here for a little late reading?
no subject
At the table she was, she glanced up from the pages of her book before, weakly, rising up to greet the stranger. Just how many people were here?
From under her book, she pushed a small piece of paper out that had a name of people Weiss gave her to look out for.] Hello.
Yes... I'm rather new and as much as I would love to sleep, my mind isn't allowing rest.
And yourself?
no subject
...Unfortunately it is the same with me. I feel rather too awake to try and sleep.
no subject
I honestly have- no memory of it at all.
[Giving a small nod, she looked up around the library.] At least this offers some comfort huh?
no subject
I do not believe we met before now, regardless. My name is Vyers, although most call me the Dark Adonis.
[And by 'most', we mean the couple of people stupid enough to go with that title. Everyone else went with 'Midboss' at home, but a few people here actually gave him the respect to use his name.]
Indeed. This is certainly a relaxing place.

I'm not disturbing you, am I? [Mentally she runs over the names Weiss had given her to be weary of, just in case.]
no subject
Oh, not at all. I just try to get out here when I have the time. I'm Ryu, by the way. I don't get out of Fayren very often, since I'm usually trading what I catch in the forest.
no subject
Fayren? Is- that another place located here? [Asking as she rounded the tables and chairs near some of the lines of books that struck her interest.]
no subject
[He nods, gesturing to a pendant of sorts that was tucked beneath his scarf.]
There are doorways that lead to different worlds. Fayren is one of them, it's closest to what my home was like. So I decided to live there.

He is also definitely nodding off; the most recent line of writing is more of a scribble than words.]
...mmm...I need...to stay awake...
[Yep that was a little bitty snore at the end of that sentence.]

Turning a row she noticed a small person that made her stop short. She tipped her head to the side to hear him before furrowing her brow in confusion. Huh, so someone else had the same idea as her?
After a moment, she ventured forward closer.] You should be in a bed you know.
no subject
Augh!
...ah. s...sorry. You startled me...
no subject
She gave a faint smile to him and ventured closer.] Sorry about that.
I used to do that, too. Fall asleep in the library. I almost got to the point of just bringing a mattress in it.
[Fluidly kneeling down, she scooped his notebook from the floor and offered it back to him.] Are you studying?
no subject
Ah....um. I'm new here and I don't know much about the city. So I thought I should try and learn whatever I can.
I guess it's a bit later than I thought. I've been here for ages.
[Luke smiles, rubbing his eyes tiredly. The truth was that he was still to riled up to sleep well and the best way to get more information was by reading up on things here.
Realizing he hasn't introduced himself, he tips his hat politely. Proper gentlemen don't neglect to introduce themselves to a lady. Of course, proper gentlemen don't fall asleep on the floor in the library either, so...]
I'm sorry. My name is Luke!
