I know there are a few nonhumans around and you lot just love to talk about yourselves and what's different where, so indulge me for a second on a personal interest.

Are any of you immortal?

Eternity? Madness? Some Zeus wannabe stringing you up on a rock so he can tear out your organs, forever?

Sure. But you're presupposing that the person you're talking to is not the Zeus-wannabe.

When you've got so much time in your hands, you tend to be more creative.

It doesn't matter in the least what you are, only what you may become: the victim to someone yet more powerful.

But admitting that for the sake of argument would get in the way of all your empty boasting, wouldn't it?

But isn't that the very reason why you try to improve your power? So no one can ever play with you like you play with them?

Not really, no. It would always depend on the being in question. Maybe some would want to die soon because they think immortality is a curse. Others, they can't get enough of it.

The thing with being a true immortal is you always have enough of it, now don't you?

I suppose you could say that, yes.
