Though you know, for all the weakness and folly they have occasion to witness, I barely ever meet an immortal who isn't full of himself.

Being thought to be immortal is usually way more fun than testing whether it's true.

So did you kill them to brag about it or did it just happen?

That's fair enough, though one of the two I would certainly say has a decent chance of being the legitimate article, because I may have helped vanquish her, but I doubt she's truly dead.

One was merely a mad king on a quest for power above all else. The other... was the goddess herself, or rather a split part of her who had decided that she needed to end the world and start anew. Suffice to say, my companions and I didn't go quietly, and with the help of her other half we managed to defeat her. Why she split in half is a rather long story altogether, but the point of the matter is... I've dealt with more immortals than I'd care to in one lifetime.

I used to live alongside a few. You could call it just 'seeking the familiar.'

[Well, she's been considering taking up her old banner again, if it looks like anyone would actually flock to it, so that's more or less a lie, but then again at this point it's not like she's expecting much.]

Understandable....are there many immortals in your world?

[He knew he was making himself probably suspicious- but ironically he was in fact not immortal- long life- yes...that was demon genetics though, not immortal. 3000+ years sure...to many it might seem as much.]

I can't begin to guess what you'd call 'many' but from my point of view they're few. One for every ten million mortals is probably too high.

Nope. I am 100-percent mortal and damn lucky to have made it to my age too. It's not common to make it past your mid to late twenties doing what I do.

[Most people seem really uncomfortable talking about this sort of thing but Spirit seems rather nonchalant.]

There aren't tons of jobs for weapons. If that's your skill then this is what you do. I've been a Deathscythe for years now.

What do you teach?

It's primary schooling. Out in a little village, at that. I teach a little of everything.

And what do you do, besides almost-certainly-die?
