Public Broadcast - Video
[Screens abound would flicker on to show Milla's face.]
Greetings people of Genessia and its surrounding cities. I am Milla Maxwell. I have just awoken to this strange and unfamiliar world and seek a means to leave it so that I might return to my duties back home. But before I can do that, it seems I must make a living here; I am prepared to offer my services.
I have experience as a mercenary. In particular I am rather proficient at hunting monsters, of which I've heard there are many lurking around the woods of Everglade. Aside from that, I'll gather items from places too treacherous for others to travel to, locate missing persons, make deliveries, or other tasks of such a nature - for a fee, of course.
I am an ally to you, Genessia, and I hope you in turn trust me.

...Well at least I was when I was back home.
Maybe we can go and hunt some together some time?
no subject
Do you now? That is interesting. Well, I have learned that hunting monsters in solidarity is much better than doing so alone. Assuming I get any jobs that are beyond my capabilities alone, I could very well keep you in mind.
Though I would have to see proof of your abilities before I bring you into danger. Not many girls your age are as talented as they believe.

[Because it sounds solid.]

Well believe me, I'm pretty great when it comes to fighting monsters. Just name the time and place and you'll have the proof you need!

It's nice to meet you.

[The perks of having a budget to work with. The city was going to regret ever giving Harry Dresden the chance to put people on a payroll.]
Re: [Video]
If you'll be the one keeping me in mind, I imagine that you must be one of the guardians I have been hearing about. It's nice to meet you.

[She seems so, but he can't know for sure if she's not there for his sensors to examine.]
If you require protection, I offer it freely.
[No, that's not what she asked, Harpuia.]
[He can hope, okay?]
Re: [Video]
[She thinks and thinks.]
... Oh, yes, it must have been that reading material on that magazine rack I spotted upon exiting the Bay. I'll simply admit that I did not read it.
[She dashes those hopes with such a casual air!]
no subject
Well that's very kind of you. I will certainly keep that in mind. [She's already determined by his appearance that Harpuia must be some kind of automaton, though she can't possibly say she's ever met one as intelligent as he.]
Well, that... sure was honest.
[Ow. His pride. Ow.]
Re: [Video]
Given the weather conditions upon my arrival, I would not have been able to read it anyway. If there is some wisdom you would impart onto me, I would gladly hear it.
Well, I guess I can't fault you for that.
[Oh, wait, wisdom? Alright, he'll think about that one before offering up some wisdom. With appropriate gravitas.]
Always be polite to the people who handle your food.
Re: [Video]
Interesting words of wisdom, Harry. I'll certainly keep that in mind.
[She's masking disappointment.]
If that's all, I'll let you see to your duties.
Hey, it might not be deep and philosophical but it's good life advice.
[He shrugs. He's grinning a little though.]
Give me a call if you need any help getting settled, or if you run into any trouble.
Re: [Video]
[She ponders.] I find myself thinking back to my shrine in Nia Khera. Is this what it means to be homesick?
That sounds like it to me. The place I've got here is pretty close, but it's not quite the same.
[A pause.]
Sucks, huh?
Re: [Video]
I'll keep my eyes open for something similar. Until then, I suppose it's back to work for me. By the way, if you hear of any unusual monster activity in the future or need any assistance with a task, call me.

[He looks surprised.]
Is the body you utilize your own?

[She grins.]
Child's play for Maxwell.

[Sort of. Not really if he must be honest, but at least she hasn't hijacked someone else's body so he won't be all RAR GIVE IT BACK.]
It seems technology advancements are superior on your world.

[He seems amazed. His creator was Master X, so naturally that's the one who has his loyalty. But a human's creator? He hadn't given these things speculation before, if only because it seemed pointless. There was no proof of construction, only faith and tales that were milennia old.]

[His expression calms, almost sad.]
A being with such power would not have allowed one's creations to become so utterly destroyed.

It isn't unlike a parent and their child. Parenting guides often state that it is wise to give your child some freedom as well as guidance.

[His gaze is sharp, but not accusing.]
If ever such a deity existed in our world, that deity has abandoned its creations.

[Now she's getting in some time for deep thought. Perhaps it was possible, but Maxwell wasn't like that - SHE wasn't like that.]
It truly is a tragedy.
