[Closed] Tonight I'll plunder heaven blind, steal from all the gods--
Who: Dio Brando and Spirit Albarn
When: Late at night
Where: Genessia City
What: Dio finds one thing he can't just grab and claim is his
Warnings: It's Dio Brando seriously. Violence
Though Spirit takes concerted effort to be more careful--he's gotten himself into plenty of trouble thus far--that doesn't mean he can avoid everything. He generally works late, if only because it gives him something to do.
Which means that he pays very close attention to his surroundings on his walk home. This means that he is not unaware of the looming presence down the street as he approaches. His eyes narrow warningly as he approaches.

What is this feeling of power and drive, making me know why I'm alive
"I sense a certain strength in this stranger... won't you grant me a gander at this prowess you possess?" Acquiring a suitable servant of powerful puissance would be particularly practical for Dio.
Like the night it's a secret, sinister, dark and unknown
"Don't know what you're talking about."
Possessing no soul perception meant Spirit had no intimate look at a person's true nature--though it took very little to see that this stranger was not one to be trifled with.
He made no threatening move that was visible; the simple act of being on his guard had him ready to transform in the blink of an eye.
I do not know what I seek, yet I'll seek it alone
"I, Dio, require ready retainers of sufficient skill... won't you commit yourself to my cause and do the work of a warrior?" Wait... why is his hair moving?
What is this feeling of power and drive, never have I, felt so alive!
"Not interested."
In fact, Spirit is so not interested that he continues walking away. His ears remain tuned into the noise Dio makes behind him. Though it appears that both hands are stuffed into his pockets, he's slid one free and transformed it into a blade. If those Hair Tendrils of Doom come his way, Spirit is more than ready to whip around and block them.
Reflexes, yo.Where does this feeling of power derive, feeling like this, feeling alive
There I is no battle I couldn't survive! Feeling like this, feeling alive!
So when Spirit feels the chill against him at Dio's touch, he makes quick work of flashing completely into his weapon form. In his place at that moment is a tall black scythe.
"Back off!"
Spirit is in no mood for a fight. He just wants to go home, and Dio is making that very difficult. When the moment presents itself he flashes back into his human form, out of Dio's reach.
"What the hell is your problem, anyway?"
I have a thirst that I cannot deprive, never have I felt so alive!
"I, Dio, reject your request to retreat! Running is useless! Useless useless useless!" Dio's Stand, The World, appears behind Spirit, throwing a punch at the back of his head timed to strike at the same moment as the vampire's own blow!
[disappointing myself with how light on alliteration this one is XD. Also sorry bout takin' so long!]
I'm out of song lyrics also so late I am SO SORRY
Again he flashes into his weapon form. He couldn't allow himself to get beaten up now--he'd promised Maka he'd be more careful. By the time Dio's swing would meet him, he's on the receiving end of a scythe blade speeding right at his face.
"Back off!"
it's k~! Now on to what was iirc the intended point of this thread :D
Dio might be confident in his vampiric regeneration ability, but he's also not foolish enough to let an unknown and obviously magical weapon strike him without trying to defend himself
this isn't Hellsing.Making good use of his superhuman reflexes, Dio redirects his hand to catch Spirit's scythe form by the haft, bending backwards an inhuman amount as if his spine were a serpent to avoid the attack
because jojoposes are important.[Let the Spirit soul-resonance shenanigans begin]
Gogogo! :3
So he takes the first opportunity he can find. Unfamiliar hands around him in weapon form made Spirit surprisingly uncomfortable for someone whom the ability to do so was a part of the job description. Though he had never gone so far as to attempt any sort of soul resonance with a non-meister, he knew without question that he needed more than quick wits to take control of the situation.
If he said a word to call forth an ability to resonate with the vampire, it was quiet. In fact, Dio might be surprised to find that there was nothing physical being done by the weapon: the steel was cold and silent, unmoving in his hands.
With any luck, that would leave him surprised by the quiet persuasion that Spirit was using. Stern and manipulative but not overpowering--not at first. Just enough presence and pressure to become slowly noticeable. And by the time it was noticed, Spirit was hoping to have serious control over the man's wavelength.
[That moment when I hope to high heaven this makes sense because I made it up. Like is this even a skill that would work like this I dunno don't care! Ley me know if it's not clear! ]

Dio glares at the weapon, turning it over and examining the construction, wary of any sudden movement or shift in form. Could it be a Stand somehow...? It does feel a little unusual, holding it, though Dio can't quite place the strange sensation...

His focus doesn't waver; instead he continues to slowly sync his wavelength with Dio's. When they are nearly completely matched, he knows the time for subtlety is over.
In an instant, Dio would sense the change in the weapon in his hands. The stem that was previously cold is growing warmer and warmer--almost hot. The quse suggestion has been replaced by orders: firm and without compromise.
"Look. I don't want to pick a fight with you. I'm not interested and you better learn to keep your damn hands to yourself here. You understand me?!"
The words are accompanied by what might feel like lead, weights--something physical feeling for Dio, restricting his movements both physically and mentally.

"Unruly underling! Undermining the great Dio is unacceptable!" Yet a lingering languor delays him from dealing a deadly strike.

The irony."Keep your damn hands to yourself! Do you understand me?!"
He's yelling, angry, but still the only visible remains of the man Dio had initially encountered is the weapon that lie still at his feet.
[ooc: for th erecord, if Dio did try adn hurt Spirit as a scythe it is possible...I don't picture Dio backing off easily.]
you wanted a reasonably-paced thread, but it was me, Dio!
With a wrathful "WRYYYYYY!" the brutish blackguard makes a move to crush his competitor with the frightful force of an angry axe-kick. Dio's heel descends on the center of the scythe's shaft, aiming to break the weapon-man in two!
no subject
The scythe on the ground is on the receiving end of Dio's painful kick and Spirit grumbles. Visibly there's a slight dent--but not much else. The weapon snaps back into his human form and swings, hard and fast, at Dio's face. The fist will transform quickly into the blade while in motion.
And should Dio try to dodge that, shortly after the first comes a kick for the vampire's side.
There's no delusion of strength here--Spirit planning to get Dio to back off of him enough so he can make a clean break for it.
