[ It's impossible to tell what's going on at first - the video feed seems to be whirling about rapidly, the audio picking up nothing but the sound of rushing air. The motion stops briefly as a hand darts into view, only to begin the process anew - anyone sharp enough to figure it out will realize the person on the other end is literally tossing their video phone up into the air repeatedly, catching it just to toss it again. It's after about thirty seconds of this that it finally stops entirely, giving a view of nothing but a pair of boots... boots which seem to have some weapon-like attachments.

A long, melodramatic sigh... ]

Well! This is a pain, isn't it.

[ A brief flip of the videophone reveals Mercury's face, wearing a relatively unfazed smirk. ]

Don't waste your breath explaining what's going on - I've done my homework. I guess all I have to say is that you can call me Mercury, and... let's all get along, mmkay?

[ There's a widening of his smirk into a grin, and it's hard to tell whether he's being mocking or genuine in his greeting. ]

--Ah, and if I'm not mistaken, I think I even sort of know some of you. Lucky me! Us trainees gotta stick together.

Of course. Until then you should be able to find small jobs until a more stable means of income appears.

[She's taking mental notes about his apparent eagerness to either 1: annoy Weiss even more or 2: be close to her because well, everyone was in love with her or at least attracted to her. Either or, she'll probably warn Weiss later.]

Ah, until then, since I already have a place for now, here. [Taking out some of the currency from this world, she hands it off to him.] That should at least help with meals for a while.

First a place to stay, now money from your own pocket... there's generosity and then there's absurdity. You're actually okay with just giving this away?

Quirks her brow at him before giving him a single nod.] I am, or else I wouldn't have.

You're from our world, I'm not about to let a familiar face go hungry and without protection. There are dangerous people.

I'm not sure if our Aura's even work here but- I'm not about to find out, either.

If you'd like, I could try to kick you in the head and see if your Aura activates in time to protect yourself.

[Just smirks slightly to herself at that with a nod. Eh, she's sure he can handle himself, even she doesn't know squat about him. It's all in the attitude.]

Hm, well, again, the archways lead to different cities and locations. If you're looking for hustle, bustle and a ridiculous amount of lights, you should head to Tokyo.

[ Hmmmmm! Hustle and bustle usually led somewhere exciting, at the very least. That might be more of a place up Emerald's alley, since a pickpocket in a crowd was hard to single out, but he's sure he could find something of interest for himself. ]

I take it you've been there - any suggestions in particular?

I have. They had some good food there. Some rather odd stores for knick knacks around the house, arcades, all sorts of things.

[Before continuing, she pauses to think just what Sun is to her. They never established anything other than a first date and even after that he wasn't clear towards her about his feelings- if any.] A uh, friend took me there when I first came here. But, if you want something a little more relaxed, I think just the city here has the occasional something to do.

[ There's the tiniest twitch of his eyebrow at the way she hesitates to say "friend", but he has nothing to really say about it for now. Just something to keep in mind. ]

It seems like everyone's awfully settled in to their cushy prison. It's almost as if no one cares that this is essentially a mass kidnapping.

[Well that sarcasm she can understand and relate to. Despite friends, she hates that she's not back home and breaking Torchwick's neck or fulfilling their plan at becoming the youngest Huntresses at Beacon since there was something looming overhead. She doesn't know what, she just knows it's there.]

I do wish there was a bit of a sense of urgency about trying to escape. Finding out that so many of us are from different times, that life still goes out without the us now, I think it's halted the urgency of returning.

If this is someone's grand scheme, they're pulling it off beautifully. Who would want to escape a prison with so many amenities?

I tip my hat to our abductors - they know how to keep their victims in place. Does anyone have any idea why we're all here, yet?

As true as that is, I think more so it's that initial fear of becoming idle. After a while, you feel bored so you look for excuses to not be bored. Then it just falls in to a routine.

[Tries thinking on that and can only give a shrug.] Not that I know of. I haven't finished my research though. A friend and myself were going to do a sweep of the books to see if there's any indication or hidden text that might explain at least something about this place.

That doesn't bode well for me - like I said. I bore easily.

[ A sigh, hands resting in his pockets. ] I'll have to find some fun of my own, I guess. If nothing else, I'll hit the streets and see what I can find out. Not all learning comes from books.

I guess I'll leave that to you then. If you do find something of interest, would it be asking too much to let me know for my own documentation?

Wellllllll... you did blindside me with offers of lodging and money right out of your pocket, so I guess I could be convinced to cooperate.

[Glances over at him with a quirked brow.] Hopefully there's no need for more convincing. I'm not sure what else I have to offer.

[With somewhere between a chuckle and scoff she lists off on her fingers.]

One, no. Then I'd have no clothes for myself and that would be awkward for everyone.

Two, a little extreme and not happening.

Three, we don't actually have those unless you happen to call living together a giant slumber party.

[ A sigh as if disappointed, before shrugging his shoulders. ]

Then I guess I'll just have to accept your terms as-is.
