[ It's impossible to tell what's going on at first - the video feed seems to be whirling about rapidly, the audio picking up nothing but the sound of rushing air. The motion stops briefly as a hand darts into view, only to begin the process anew - anyone sharp enough to figure it out will realize the person on the other end is literally tossing their video phone up into the air repeatedly, catching it just to toss it again. It's after about thirty seconds of this that it finally stops entirely, giving a view of nothing but a pair of boots... boots which seem to have some weapon-like attachments.

A long, melodramatic sigh... ]

Well! This is a pain, isn't it.

[ A brief flip of the videophone reveals Mercury's face, wearing a relatively unfazed smirk. ]

Don't waste your breath explaining what's going on - I've done my homework. I guess all I have to say is that you can call me Mercury, and... let's all get along, mmkay?

[ There's a widening of his smirk into a grin, and it's hard to tell whether he's being mocking or genuine in his greeting. ]

--Ah, and if I'm not mistaken, I think I even sort of know some of you. Lucky me! Us trainees gotta stick together.

I went to introduce myself because I still have memory issues and it became very apparent that he has no idea how to turn off sarcasm, followed by him constantly trying to bicker with me. I know I'm not the easiest person to get along with all the time, but he was doing it on purpose.

[ She's convinced of it. ]

After calling each other obnoxious for a while, he decided to inform me that he was staying instead of asking. Since you didn't know what he was talking about, he probably didn't ask you either.

[She did get the sarcasm from him, but maybe it was her slight naivety that caused her to miss/dismiss any further snerk.]

No, I didn't know anything about it.

[whiteas]

See? Anyone who doesn't think asking if they can live with you is important obviously isn't someone anyone should want to live with.

That is a little too intrusive. I don't think I'd be comfortable with it anyways since I barely know him.

[whiteas]

Good, it's settled then. You, Frost, and I vote against it. So even if Blake and Yang are for it, we outnumber them.

[ That's her plan- include Frost in the vote. ]

Good! Wait... Will Frost count?

[whiteas]

He lives with us and he's probably better trained than Mercury is, he counts.

Fair enough. If anything, maybe we can get someone from home who lives outside the house to hear our case and be a tie breaker?

[whiteas]

[ No.

Well, that's Weiss's knee-jerk reaction anyway. But she's gotten a little better at not just saying no to everything she doesn't like. A little. ]

I'm sure there are other people who would be more than willing to put him up, Ruby.

Well, sure. That's not what I was saying though.

[whiteas]

I know. But if we can find an alternative I'm sure it won't matter who votes for what.

Well... don't we come here with a key to an apartment given to us? If anything, he has that?

No. Why, did you get a key? I only got money and a pamphlet that told me to get a job.

[ And the pendant and communicator, but they're focusing on the living situation. ]

Yeah. It came with the pamphlet and the money. Did you not get one?

[Handing Weiss her (wet/drying) pamphlet.]

[ She holds her hand out in the 'stop' motion. She's not taking the yicky pamphlet. ]

Everyone arrives with a pamphlet, some money, a pendant, and the communicator. Unless everyone's been lying to me because I didn't get one, no one starts off with an apartment key, Ruby.
