genessia | Two | Action/Accidental Video

[Spirit has been doing his best to behave, spending the vast majority of his time working or exploring the city. Generally, this has gone on completely without incident--barring a few run-ins with unsavory folk, he's been doing all right for himself.

Today, however, is not that day. It's already late when the video feed turns on. There isn't any image, just a black screen and quiet scuffing. The phone is still in his pocket.]

S'...h-hey. S'not even that late yet!

Look pal, you've been here for ages and you've had enough. Get out. Go home or something, I don't care.

[A door opens and slams. Any passers-by near Jack's Bar would be greeted with one intoxicated Deathscythe being tossed off the premises.

It's only a few moments later that the phone is fished out of his pocket. Anyone watching is greeted with a frowning face.]

Ah, shit...sorry.

[With that, the feed abruptly turns off.]

'Kay. Fine. I just had a couple'a drinks. That's all.

[Not everything has to be wrong to drink, but she has a feeling...]

'M fine! Can't a guy just have a few drinks?

[He seems disproportionately agitated by her questioning, though behind the anger is something more like pouting.]

Just had'ta clear m'head for a bit. Shouldn't be such a big deal. There's a lot goin' on lately.

[She couldn't help but let out a sigh. He didn't seem fine at all, but if he didn't want to talk about it, it made no sense to try to ask any further. What right did she have to question about something like that when she just met him not too long ago.]

Fine, fine... But if you ever need to talk, I'll listen. For now, can I at least help you on your way home?

[Walked home. Like a lost kid.

He hated that it was probably appropriate. He sighs.]

[His voice is quiet and thick with alcohol, but he seems genuine enough.]

Company for the walk'd be nice.

[She's just worried about you, Spirit. You're one of her only friends here so far, after all. Once you talk weapons with her, you're stuck with her.]

It's okay, really. I don't mind. I couldn't really sleep anyways.

[Honestly, Spirit is rather unused to the concern. But he appreciates it just the same.]

What's eatin' you that's keepin' you from sleeping?

It's just... getting used to this place. There's still a lot that I don't know about.

I think everyone feels the same. It's tough bein' away from home...stuck in an unfamiliar place.

[He sighs] Plus, Genessia manip'lates time...some friends come knowin' what you know 'bout home. Some don't at all. S' a lot to keep track of.

I've noticed that recently. Some of my friends don't know about the dance.

Mm...

[The weapon shrugs with a frown.] 'S no good. Hard to keep up.

I guess it's just one more thing to get used to.

[Papa!Spirit, however intoxicated he may be, seems to notice the time and levels Ruby with a look that's probably supposed to express concern but maybe doesn't quite do that.]

Y'know 's late. You should be home sleepin'...or at leas' not wanderin' around in the dark.

[Their walk has lead them to the park near his apartment, and he nods at the building.]

Technically not wanderin' anymore, seein' as this is home.

[Well at least she was able to help him home, but she's not going to leave as soon as she knows he's secure in his apartment.]
