[ The feed begins, though the mumbling doesn't seem to be directed at anyone in particular. ]

[ An annoyed grunt, followed shortly by a soft splash as something light apparently hits the water. ]

No fuckin' pamphlet's gonna tell me what's what.

[ And then his voice raises a bit, as he seems to finally speak into the receiver to address his audience. ]

Yo! I threw all that stuff in the water 'cause it was pissin' me off, so can someone actually fill me in here? I hafta get home ASAP, so if you're a kidnapper just show me your ugly mug so I can smash it in!

[ There's a delay before his response - when he does, the feed has switched to video, revealing a sopping wet Sendo clutching some soggy papers in one hand. ]

Yeah, Osaka born an' raised.

[ Apparently he just... doesn't want to talk about how he had to go scrounging about for the money. ]

[She smiles, a sympathetic tilt to her brows. It looks like he's embarrassed, so she doesn't mention it.]

I'm from Karakura Town, just outside of Tokyo. Inoue Orihime, it's very nice to meet you!

[ He's about to snap that it's not nice to meet anyone in these circumstances, but... ah, she's being so nice, he can't bring himself to stay too mad. It's not like it's her fault, anyway. ]

Jus' call me Sendo. S'good t' meetcha, but I ain't never heard of Karakura Town... though I guess if it's small enough I might've jus' never been.

There are only 10,000 people or so there, so I guess it's pretty small!

[She hitches her shoulders.]

Well, do you want me to tell you the basics, Sendo-san? Did you keep the necklace too? That's important if you want to move in and out of the city!

[ He turns his head wearily to look at the water again, shoulders sagging a bit at the thought of jumping back in again. ]

It's really that important, huh?

Only if you want to go look at the other cities, or make an Archway.

[She's sorry, she thought you would keep something that looked valuable!]

At least the water isn't very deep?

Yeah, but it's pretty goddamn cold.

[ A long, drawn out sigh - he has no idea what the fuck she's talking about regarding archways or whatever, but it sounds like the stupid trinket is important. Begrudgingly he sets the device down, turns to approach the water's edge...

And throws himself in, flailing about as he tries to find the necklace as quickly as possible. It's almost like watching a cat being forced to bathe in a tub - a lot of splashing and not a lot of progress. ]

[Orihime winces for his sake. She hadn't thought of that, but it is late October, so of course the water would be chilly. And there he goes, splashing around to find his items.]

I'll get you a blanket.

[It'll give her something to do, so she feels a little less useless.]

[ He can't answer right away, not until he's finally retrieved the lost piece of jewelry from under the water's surface. As soon as he's got it he scrambles back onto dry land, shaking his entire body (again, not entirely unlike a cat) before snatching the videophone back up again. ]

Eh? S'alright, I can deal. Y'already helped me enough with yer advice, I ain't gonna ruin yer blankets with my stupid wet self.

Water won't ruin a blanket, ha ha! Anyway, you could use a housewarming gift, ne? There are a lot of apartment buildings to choose from.

Oh... s'right, I gotta get my own place, now. Never lived on my own before, but I guess I ain't got much choice. Any tips?

Well...what was your world like? Genessia City is probably the best place, because it's close to all the other cities so it's easy to travel freely. Indoor plumbing is pretty great!

[She's kind of a fan, it's hard to get used to while she's vacationing in Fayren.]

The nicer apartments tend to cost a lot more, so...depending on what you want to do for employment, I'd suggest picking something that will match what you estimate your rent to be.

What was my world like?

[ He's half a second from asking what the fuck kind of question that is, but it's becoming more and more obvious that things here are more than a little strange anyway. Might as well try to answer her. ]

Uh... well it was round, for starters? Warm in the spring and summer, cold in winter and fall. Oh, I lived near a lotta cats, too. I'd kinda like t' have a few of those around if I can.

... Do cats even exist here? I can't believe I gotta ask that.

[Orihime inclines her head.]

It rained cats and dogs very literally, once. And I know there's a pet shop out in Attleton. Do you like cats?

[It sure seems like he does.]

'Course I do! Who th'fuck doesn't like cats?

[ it's a legitimate question ]

[She thinks about it, but she honestly can't think of a single person who dislikes cats. No one disliked Yoruichi either! COINCIDENCE?]

That's a good point! Are you going to buy one?

Naw, plenty o' folks got the cash t' buy a cat. I take care of th' strays! Hold on--

[ He digs around in his pocket for a second to pull out a notebook, opening it to face it towards the camera. The majority of the page is notes about boxing, about techniques to use against certain opponents, which areas of his body he needs to strengthen to face them properly...

But the borders are absolutely littered with doodles of cats, their names, and their ages. ]

I took care of a whole gang of 'em back home! Didn't matter where I went - Osaka, Tokyo, cats fall in line behind me so I figure I'll do th' same while I'm here.

[Orihime raises her chin to look at the notebook. She can't help grinning at all of the pictures. That's kind of adorable. If her friend Sado were here, she's positive the two of them would get along amazingly.]

[More impressive is the fact that he's so concerned for the strays. Her smile softens, and she inclines her head out of respect.]

You're a really nice person, Sendo-san. If I see any stray cats, I'll let you know.

[ He can't help but grin at the compliment - he's a little modest about that sort of thing, and in the right environment he'd deny it outright for the sake of his reputation, but it's hard to be argumentative with someone so genuinely nice. ]

Heh, yer jus' seein' me in a good light right now. But definitely lemme know if ya happen t' spot any, I'll get to 'em ASAP!
