11th Campaign [Video/Locked to Yukihime] Backdated to 10/4

[It had taken considerable work but eventually Satsuki Kiryuin had managed to get some free time- or at least enough time to actually consider leisurely socializing. And she only considers this because it had been a while since she had contacted Yukihime, whom she had promised to speak again with over a particular matter. In retrospect she isn't entirely certain why she agreed to it, but perhaps part of her thinks that the older woman would be able to provide some insight on the matter that will help the Guardian out- it's a worthwhile trade for some embarrassment, which Kiryuin has managed a nice track record of doing to herself when speaking to the blond.

She glances to her clock, and it is nearing three. A good time for tea, so she could knock out two birds with one stone. But first thing's first, and she attempts to contact Yukihime.]

It's me. Do you have anything planned over the next couple of hours?

Of course; it is 'obvious' to a certain subset of people. I usually classify them as 'irresponsible children'.

And?

What you were going to say, exactly, is that it was obvious to someone such as yourself.

But this answer is closer to the truth, isn't it? You don't really accept it. You certainly have never thought to doubt the righteousness of your own cause. You speak of responsibility and maturity but you're just posturing, trying to score points.

[The turning of her statement against and the criticism both, though, only come lightly. After all to Yukihime these kinds of flaws are inevitable.]

You have a fine mind and a strong will, Satsuki, I can tell that much. And I think you mistake me, I really adore children who have such clear goals. But a girl your age still has lessons she has yet to learn.

[Light as it may be, and best as Satsuki tries to keep her her composure, the end result is the Guardian feeling her cheeks heat up, some muscles tense and her pointer finger rapidly pokes her opposite bicept several times. Posturing? Is Yukihime trying to get a rise out of her again she wonders. Well that isn't going to happen this time.]

Lessons about what, exactly?

You should know from what I've said. Doubting your own decisions, feeling shame for your own selfishness, feeling guilt for your own sins. Knowing your own weakness. If you're lucky you'll have the chance to learn from those things.

Yes; I just wanted to be absolutely certain.

[Satsuki shakes her head.]

If that is all, then your help will not be needed. I already know that my efforts in my home world failed; two of my associates arrived from a future time and stated as such.

What I do not have time for are lessons to teach me to wallow in my own self-pity and angst. What I can agree on is making time to improve and become stronger, more focused.

[Beat.]

I appreciate your offer, but I can do that on my own- Genessia has, indeed, given me that chance.

[Well, it wasn't like she'd really been offering anything other than a viewpoint, but that shallow dismissal irritates Yukihime enough for her to press the point.]

People grow stronger by confronting challenges, not turning away from them. That's as true when we speak of moral strength as temporal. Do you think you'll change anything simply by 'focusing', becoming more the person who you already know will fail? That isn't taking the chance you've been given. There's nothing holding you back here. You can explore as many possibilities as you like.

You told me that you thought you'd been told to realize the potential of everyone here. Does that not include yourself?

['Does that not include yourself?'. Come to think of it, her fellow classmates had expressed similar concerns not too long ago. Not in those exact words, but it's enough to cause Satsuki to realize that she shouldn't have responded to Yukihime in that way. Her expression seems to soften as her gaze drops downward.

She's also extremely hesitant about the possibility of changing herself for the worse. She'd never been discouraged with herself until events in Genessia and as far as she's concerned it can only get worse.]

That.. Yes. [She replies as she meets the blondes eyes once more.] As in it would include myself. But to answer your question obviously I would not consider it if my previous method were completely ineffective. But it is as you say; Here I should not turn away alternate possibilities so.. Readily.

From a practical point of view if you came close, simply knowing how you failed may be enough to change your fate, or at least the one you know to change. Compared to venturing into the unknown I'm sure it's more comforting to dwell on the strength you already have too. [She shrugs.] And it could be what serves you best, by the vagaries of circumstance.

[She smiles. In a rather self-satisfied way.]

But it is as I say.

[There's a lot for her to consider, and at this point she's decided that Yukihime is someone she can speak more comfortably with. At least a little. While there is still that nagging feeling that there is a mystery about the blond that still needs to be solved, it isn't like Yukihime is going to be vanishing from the world anytime soon.]

I think I may see why some would feel you are worth following. I appreciate your patience.

For my speeches? They'd better not be. [Her smug look slowly fades into a distracted irritation.] Just a lot of preaching.

[She stands, then looks back at Satsuki.] Any business before I go?

Is that so?

[Satsuki can appreciate a good speech; though she's usually the one giving them at home. She gets to her feet as well, presumably to show her company to the door.]

No, I believe that will be all for today. Though next time will likely be about the school itself. I think I should be more.. Inclusive in the project.

If it would interest you, I'd like for you to be involved in its production.

[Production? Interesting word choice. But then, when you're trying to recruit someone it does help to make them curious. Yukihime seems to honestly think about it, or at least turn it over for feel a few times, before she answers.]

I've said this much, you can consider me 'involved' for now. We can always fall out over the details later.

[There isn't anything grand about her part of the departure- usually she has a butler take care of things from this point but instead she has to do it herself and there is a bit of awkwardness to it with how seriously she carries herself; there's a sense of purpose even in her walking.

With as much that was said today, next time she'll have to put more effort in learning more about Yukihime and, hopefully, won't have a difficult time of it.]
