Job Fair

WHO: Anybody! Recruiters, set up a stall. Bums, get a job!
WHAT: Genessia is hosting a super fun job fair! Unsure what to do? Step up to the lucky lotto and get assigned a super fun lucky awesome job that the character MUST work for at least eight hours before returning to pick a new job from the lucky lotto. Or you could just pick a normal job that's being offered by normal people. That works too.
WHEN: November 3rd - November 9th
WHERE: Genessia City - Encircling the Bay
NOTES: If you want to try for a random job, post a comment with the day of the week in the subject line. The character may choose to keep the job if they like it, or pick a new one the next day.

As soon as the sun began to rise on the snow-dusted city, a quiet murmur in the streets steadily turned into a bustling commotion, with people carrying tables in pairs, filling balloons with helium and tying them to brightly painted signs, and catchy songs being played fighting for the attention of would-be job applicants. Cafes, the library, mall stores, the Genessia Tribune, property managers...everyone had something that needed to be done.

The most eye-catching display by far was the Lucky Lotto Career booth, with flashing lights, attractive "booth babes", and a large multi-colored wheel just waiting to be spun. On the wheel, numerous panels were pasted with a large glittery "?" on each one. Depending on where the wheel stopped, the panel would be peeled off to reveal one surprise job for anybody who needed a little inspiration for their aspiring careers. Why not step up and try your luck?

[Running a bakery isn't difficult, per se, but it does require a lot of hard work. Besides, if people are looking for jobs, why not offer a few? Adam said he'd run delivery, but she's not sure if he's still interested. She'll have to ask next time he appears! For now she's seated at her table, with several samples of her cakes cut into small cubes with a dollop of flavored mousse. She's accepting bakers, flower decorators, delivery personnel, marketing specialists, salespeople, clean-up crew, inventory specialists... Basically if she can make it a job, she did.]

[Taiki was perhaps a little bit overwhelmed by the whole hiring fair chaos, but more because he was just allowing himself to drift with the press of people while looking at all thing various things rather than moving with any sort of purpose. It was almost like one of the school festivals but with more adults and less games. He'd taken a few minutes to watch the one 'game' in the area, some sort of wheel of fate, and some of the results had certainly scared him away for a while. While he could be a bird-bath attendant, there was also the possibility of becoming an assistant butcher and that wasn't something he could live through.

At least it seemed that he'd managed to find his way to an area of 'light' food services. Bakeries, tea shops, themed cafes... This he could manage at least. And for one rather spirited bakery owner, his reiatsu was probably at obvious as a pile of glowsticks in a dark field of grass. Muted, warm, and perhaps pretty for now, but perhaps covering something more... And he hesitantly drifted towards her counter with difference and an almost painful lack of confidence.]

Welcome!

[Orihime's the exact opposite, cheerful and outgoing. She can't fail to notice that he has some spiritual presence, but that's not as rare as she thought it was, once. She gestures to the samples laid out in front of her.]

Do you want to try a sample? I've got apple and caramel, pumpkin spice, and lemon berry.

[At least her bubbly welcome was enough to allow him to relax enough to actually come up to the table of samples. All three of her samples looked and smelled really good and were of things he could eat... To be greedy and try all three, or just pick one... Taiki looked up at her curiously.]

Would it be alright if I tried the apple, miss?

[The more he watched her, the more he seemed to relax. Somehow, she reminded him of the sages of Mt. Ho.]

[Fai sat at his booth wearing the cat eats and tail he had worn for the Halloween party to represent the booth in which he was working at. His own both for his cafe.

He had made sure that workers who were going to work in giving out samples were paid extra for this as he had to think of what other jobs he needed to fill in his cafe apart from the obvious ones involving money.

For now though he's just happy to greet people with a tray of treats he baked just that morning. Some were new, some were the usual if you were use to going there. He just hoped he'd get some interest.]

[And there was some interest in one youngling, though perhaps there was a bit of fear along the edges. Fresh from watching some 'lucky' contenders who'd spun the wheel of employment, Taiki was firmly determined to NOT become an assistant butcher like one poor soul had. If only he had two more years on him, the young kirin might have come up to the booth with far more confidence than he did. But at least he actually came close enough to actually look at the booth this time. He was still a little wary after the old man with one milky eye had chased after him offering to buy his bathwater.

As it was, Taiki remained respectfully at the edges while several other, and older, people hung around discussing what they'd encountered for jobs over the last hour or two. Taiki, on the other hand, looked a little puzzled at the ears Fai was wearing. An 'animal cafe'?]

[Fai had just finished talking to a couple of regulars to the cafe as he noticed the other lingering a distance away as he looks over.]

hello and welcome to the Cat's Eye Booth~! I'm the owner Fai D. Flourite. Don't mind the ears and tail, I just wore them because I thought it would be fun, no worker wears anything like that.

Now can I help you with anything?

But... It looks fun...

[It was a hesitant admittance but quite genuine. The man seemed to be having fun wearing the ears and tail so there wasn't the awkwardness he'd seen at some of the animal cafes in Tokyo. Taiki moved just a little closer.]

What's the 'Cat's Eye'?

The cat's eye is a cafe where I bake and sell baked goods as well as various teas and coffees to go with it. Although you can have a milkshake or fizzy if you aren't a fan.

[He smiles.]

I've been getting good business so I know people like it.

[At some point, Flonne was coming to see how Fai was doing.]

Has it been busy?

[He looked over slightly.]

Ah, so far we've just had possible customers. Noting else yet though.

[Might as well go and see how his workmates are doing.]

Hey Fai~ Oh, my little cutey, you're here too?

[Fai raised his hand slightly to five a little wave.]

Having a good day off, Zelos-san? [He at least gave them the option to have the day off at least. He was okay with handling a booth by himself.]

That's too bad.

Oh, hello.

[But Flonne wants to be helpful.]

Yeah, it's been pretty good thanks. How's it going over here?

The cafe has been getting quite a few customers at the very least.

Luckily, the Guardian thing was a bust. So here Ted was, happy to see what else fate had in store. He rubbed his hands, reached for the Wheel of Fortune, and gave it a spin.

The brightly colored panels whirled round and round, until the rubber stopper ticked down to a nice pink board. The host pulled it loose and turned it over to reveal Ted's new profession.

"Congratulations! Now you're a ballerina! Or, as you're a male, a ballerino!"

[Izanami had arrived at job fair as well, dressed in casual, androgynous clothing similar to her uniform as a gas station attendant back in Inaba. For now, she was browsing the various stalls, curious about what was on offer.]

[Sure Yuuki already had a job, but she had started to wonder and thought about changing careers, so here she is thinking about joining in getting a random job, but unsure of what to do or even what she might get.]

[Lucia hasn't officially started her karaoke cafe, but she was going to need help with starting it up and finding workers.

So there she is with a few sketches and ideas showing her thoughts about the karaoke cafe.]

[He's here. He better get something good.]

Spin that wheel! Except she'll do it a little too hard and watch it spin for several minutes. Oops... At least it didn't break!
