Those gosh-darn guardians are up to no good again!
All around Genessia, the Guardians are up to their usual corruption. Thievery, explosives, arson, oh my! Who can we depend on when our very protectors endanger us so? If only someone had listened. But now it's too late. You sheeple have doomed us all.

Pidonus pretending to be Satsuki! (For Sun Wukong)
A certain black-haired Guardian happened to be taking a nice, regal walk in Nova City. Her commanding stature commanded no questioning of her obviously determined path, as she moved with certainty towards her objective.
The walk was perfect enough that no one would dare question that it was the Guardian herself. The precise combination of research, planning, and a bit of magic of Pidonus' own to supplement a certain associate's tricks would see nicely to that long enough for her to commit her heinous deed and disappear.
... She wondered if it wouldn't have been easier to just dominate Satsuki herself into doing it - not that the mental dalliance showed on her face for even a second. And, to be honest, Pidonus did feel a little worse than she should have about how she was about to go and beat up someone for the sole reason of making a completely different someone look bad. Damn it, she was a demon, she wasn't supposed to have a conscience!
... Fortunately, she knew how to trick her strikes to make them hurt more than hurt - and be nice and flashy for the convenient cameras, too. Soothe her conscience and work on the important part of the goal, too!
Now, to just find that monkey-like fellow...

The monkey tailed Faunus stood there making marks on the piece of paper before tapping his pen against it. "Yeah..I'm thinking that third store had the better equipment and prices.."

"Unworthy," she shouted as she drew her copy of Satsuki's sword and immediately slashed at Sun. She'd heard that he had some tricks, so she needed to get a painful enough hit in to stop him from moving immediately. Then, several more good strikes, one simple direction to leave Nova City while he could still walk, then leaving. That'd do the job nicely.
Of course, if he managed to fight back, that could be leveraged too - to make the black-haired guardian seem weak instead. Which could cause her just as much trouble as a backup plan.
Pidonus so loved win-win situations.

“What the heck, Satsuki?!” He was pretty sure he was on good terms with her. Or at least good enough h terms that she wouldn’t walk up behind him and do something like this.
“If you want to spar or something, you should probably say that and not just suddenly attack someone.” Really, that wasn’t becoming of someone that was a city guardian.

Good news, bad news. Good news: He was resisting, and he was good enough to avoid her. So seeming weak it would be. Not so good: That meant that she needed an escape.
The duplicate simply took more swings, stepping in quickly to keep him from getting on his guard, and not saying a single word. Keep him confused, don't clarify the situation. 'Satsuki' had no words for this 'scum'. Just brutal, efficient violence to scare the unworthy out of the society of Neon City.
The media could take over from there.

Sun jumped back quickly as she pressed the attack. He reached underneath the back of his shirt and pulled out his weapon. He unfurled it and it took the form of his staff. He takes it in both hands and holds it in a defensive position, ready to counter attack should she come in now.
"Alright. If you really want to do this, lady."
no subject
Hrm. Quarterstaff. A rather effective weapon, for sure... And, of course, the mimicry of Satsuki didn't go so far as to include her special abilities.
That forced Pidonus to go straight to the point. "Leave Nova, unworthy scum," she stated firmly, keeping the sword pointed in Sun's direction, but not yet attacking. Pidonus knew how quick a staff could move - she needed to let him create his own opening if she was going to win this.
no subject
"You want to tell me what this is really about or will fighting be the only thing that settles it?" He asks while studying her, noting her stance and any opening that she may have. His weapon wasn't just a simple Quarterstaff. It packed a much bigger punch than that.
no subject
"This city does not need your ilk. Therefore, I will remove you from it. It is as simple as that."
'Satsuki' couldn't afford to step back in response to Sun's approach... However, her stance seemed a bit unsteady. Surely a strike that way would force her down so he could figure out what was going on, and wasn't a subtle feint to set him up for a strike!
Of course, if he did manage to strike her, she'd simply have to flee immediately and seem terribly weak in addition to horrifyingly racist. That'd definitely be useful later.

His movement stopped when he felt she was in his range but also when he felt that he wasn't in her range for an attack. He struck out at her with a great deal of force with his staff.

The show was on, now. Sun had a significant range advantage that Pidonus knew she wouldn't be able to match without completely dropping the illusion. On the other hand, that wasn't the only cheat she had. After all, this was close enough to a performance that she could bring her 'bardic music' abilities to bear...
As demonstrated when lightning began to course along "Satsuki"'s blade as she moved to block the strike and step in to try and swing at Sun. As far as the journalistic record would go, it was just another dirty trick from Nova's guardian, after all!
More importantly, it was the only way she was going to stand a chance against his speed and reach, especially if she didn't want to seriously hurt him, while he was not so withheld necessarily - he, for sure, knew something was up, but depending on his guess as to what was wrong...

As she stepped in to swing at him, Sun quickly moved to drop down low to get under her swing, dropping down to the ground and spinning his staff all the while. As he comes to the ground, he slams his staff down upon it, and when he does it lets off a big shock wave of energy that could send even a grown man tumbling off of their feet and onto the ground.
no subject
The swing of the electrified blade indeed flew high as Sun ducked, forcing the doppelganger to take several quick hops to avoid the staff, followed by a bigger jump back as Sun struck the ground, knocked back but managing to roll back to her feet.
"You're a menace to this city. Leave," she directed, quickly stepping in and taking a series of rapid swings to punctuate her 'point'. This... Wasn't going well for Pidonus, and she'd have to make her exit soon.
She should've figured this would go something like this, now she thought about it...
no subject
He suddenly broken his staff down into a pair of two nunchaku, using the moment of his parry to get them both in motion. Though, they were hardly simple nunchaku, they were actually four shotguns, each pair linked by a chain. He started his counter attack, swinging them and simultaneously firing off shotgun blasts when the barrels were level to her or level to her sword just to throw off any sword strikes that she was sending his way.
no subject
Well this was definitely not what Pidonus had signed up for with this scheme... Several rapid-fire blasts forced her back, and back, and back again, putting her on the defensive for several steps... Until she simply took off running around a corner.
She needed enough distance to not arouse suspicion if she disappeared with a teleportation spell, or released the illusion on her form to reveal her true self. The question was if she'd be able to get that...
no subject
Usually Sun was the one being chased, not the one doing the chasing. "Hey! Get back here!"
no subject
Quickly, Pidonus turned a corner. She didn't know Nova City well, so teleporting beyond what she was not a thing she could pull, but she could quickly dart to the other end of the alleyway, giving her a bit of breathing room... Hopefully.
If this damned hero wasn't fast enough for that, at least, she could easily get away clean with a few more uses of that...
no subject
"How in the world can you run so fast in heels?!"
no subject
Losing him was important at this point - she had to set Satsuki up as a coward, not actually get beaten up and found out. Question was, could she pull it...

Pidonus, by this point, had decided to try a completely different tactic. Namely, hiding in a trash bin before he could catch up sufficiently. Of course, if he thought to look in the trash bin...
She released her illusion at this point, and winced a little, like she was in a fair bit of pain. If she could convince Sun that the duplicate had thrown her in the trash can while barreling past...

The act begins... Hopefully. Worst case, she had to hope one of her spells would work.
Roseblack running wild in Genessia City (Open to good guys 'cept her)
There Ejava was, screaming, at Genessia City's garden park. Her first criminal act was kicking over a hot dog stand, pointing her massive sword at the poor vendor. He adopted the fetal position as his means of employment was trashed, then fled away.
"Where are my statues of honor? Where is my tribute? You lowly citizens; did you think my office was a gift? That I would defend your miserable lives out of charity? No. You will give me the worship I deserve." Boom! A chunk of the stone road was blasted from energy at the tip of her sword.
Then she made her way to the children's playground. They shrieked and ran as well. When they had departed, she began again. "Your mewling cries irritate me! Let the power of Ejava be known to one and all, from the most crippled elder to the youngest infant!" Say goodbye, jungle gym! It was nice knowing you.
R U D E
His eyes fall on Ejava, uncertain. She was cross the last time they'd spoken, sure, but honestly. Getting to his feet, Spirit approaches her, his good hand stuffed into his pocket and the other still in a sling. "Scaring children? That isn't like you."
So rude
"Ah, Spirit. I would say it was good of you to join me. You, one of the few lowlifes in this place who know to whom you owe everything. I would, but you've become injured, and are worth even less to me than usual." She pointed her sword at a swing set, blasting it apart as well.
"No, I admit my current actions may seem unusual. Do not worry; I have been meaning to avenge the lack of respect towards me for some time now. There will, as usual, be no reprisal. They may not know respect, but they do know fear. I will teach them the former." And boom goes the monkey bars.
"I hereby sentence you back to whatever healer's office you crawled out of. That's an order."
Not convincing
And even if he hadn't been, he would have left. Spirit has no shame in admitting that he's not fond of hospitals.
After a moment, his eyes narrow. He had been unconvinced earlier by her behavior and wad still wary of all the nonsense that has gone on courtesy of Everyman.
"To what do I owe the honor of my first name? I haven't been 'Spirit' since I stared working with you. Even though I've asked, even in casual conversation I've been Deputy Albarn."
Don't you mean: Oh so convincing?
"And lo, thus marks the end of where these feckless children idle. Though you mortals all strike me as childish enough. Begone, 'deputy', unless you wish to join me in utterly crushing this symbol of mortal maladroitness."
Suuuuuure
"All right, enough."
The weapon looks calm enough but there's anger brewing. He's a parent after all. Don't screw with kids. "You're not crushing anything. This isn't what a guardian is supposed to be doing. Not that I'm completely convinced you actually are Guardian Tepet."
"Not completey convinced"? Progress!
"Hold your tongue. It is not for a would-be deputy to question what an Exalted, much less a Guardian, should or should not do. So when I say, nay, demand that this park be leveled as a symbol of my absolute authority, it will be done. My word is law!" To punctuate her little monologue, the bench Spirit just got off of was blasted into bench heaven. No more sitting for you.
"Have I made myself clear? Or would you like a reason to return to the hospital? Because that can be arranged." She flashed a malevolent grin.
"Be warned: I don't do paid leave."
ffff
Spirit loosens his tie and tugs on a small chain. Until this moment he's seen no reason to do much with the amulet that he received upon arrival beyond keep it on his person as instructed. But he did remember that only those from other worlds had them. Between his fingers he's holding a small green pendant.
"If you're really Guardian Tepet...prove it."
He isn't looking for a fight--in fact his current goal is to just distract her from destroying the park. There's not even a glimmer of a chance that he could take her on anyway, certainly not like this.
no subject
"But if it will shut you up..." She reached around her neck, undid the loop, and held out a green necklace.
"Satisfied? I am, just about. There's not much left to destroy. Except the grounds themselves, I suppose." She set about blasting the area around Spirit's feet. He himself would be unharmed, except dirt and grass exploding onto him.
"Now go. I have little use for a 'deputy' who's both injured and dirty."
Ew gross also honestly I tagged this and had noooo idea what I was going to do
"Out of curiosity, what does our Guardian intend to do next?"
Though he's still not convinced that this is truly Guardian Tepet, she does have the what looks to be the right amulet. And truly, if this is the actual Guardian Tepet, how could he stand to work for someone who behaves like this? The trepidation shows in his expression, though he's attempting to keep it well hidden.

She shot him a pointed glare. "If you are wise, I will reign foremost in your mind as both your ruler and your highest concern. Second to that, however, is your own safety. If the people do not learn to respect me, some of them will learn contempt. That goes especially to their 'toadies'. And their children. Rest, Deputy. You will need it for the trouble ahead."
After that, she turned on her
cyborg jet bootsEffortlessly Rising Flame and sped away.
