A public comm went out, highlighted by the blonde, idiot face most were fortunate enough not to know. Until now.

"Hello, everyone. For some time, my soul has been in trouble. Upon first coming here, it was difficult to feel much else for Genessia besides contempt. Even a very polite kidnapper is still a villain. Still, Thanksgiving, that most holy of holidays, would've occurred in my world today. As the sages say, "Gratitude ought to be the permanent pulsation of the soul", and that divine command makes itself known on Thanksgiving. Thus, I invite you all to join me in that most solemn ritual of naming what you're thankful for. I'll start.

I am thankful for...
The chance to dance, both formally in ballet, and more formally yet with a princess
Halloween festivities, and those who make them festive
The chance to serve a community, and the relief of having that chance defeated
Demons, especially the ones kind enough to get battered
The opportunity to enact justice, and to meet Justice himself
And finally, the temporary relief from the troubles of home. (At least, he hoped it was temporary)

Ah, I truly am too kind to forgive trespasses against moi so easily, but it is a kindness extended only to those who can truly appreciate my majesty!

The holiday might be, if you like abstraction. A scavenger hunt, where one searches the memory for reasons to be glad. Find them all, and you will be. Fail, and...well, let's not talk of that.

As for Genessia...it sure seems to. Upon arrival we were handed a set of rules, and many of the players are scurrying about the board trying to win, i.e. escape. At least, I assume that's how one wins. The question is, who's the host?

I'm a pet cat, my whole life is abstract. [ That more has to do with him coming from Wonderland. Maybe. ] But that also means I'm not in need of gratitude.

Well, one could assume it's some higher power managing it, but that's not always the case.

[Ted couldn't comprehend most of that. Pet cats most certainly didn't look like him; was he speaking to a lunatic? And pet cats may be aloof enough, but abstract? Well, perhaps. He knew little of the inner world of felines. Worst of all was the second sentence. For all the first sentence was a farce, the second was a shock.]

"Hmph! Well, if you knew that power, maybe you might know that gratitude." [really, saying something like that on Thanksgiving. How could he?] "I can handle much nonsense, but little blasphemies! Good day sir!"

[Ted felt some lingering regret over that hasty end; if one claimed to be a pet cat, would one purr if you scratched behind their ears? Drat; he really should've thought of that before. Might've been one thing to be thankful for.]

[ He was most certainly talking to a lunatic, yes. Cheshire is, after all, the Cheshire Cat, and a citizen of Wonderland. The only citizen who didn't have any specific rules besides his role, and the rule that applied to every single person in Wonderland. ]
