[Shame. Roman appreciated a little banter. Ah, well-- that look on Blake's face almost made up for it. He'd had to be so damned careful in Genessia, resorting to stealth while he worked his way back up the food chain. It felt good to see his prey face to face again.]
Well, I think we have a lot of catching up to do. I mean, last time we met, I couldn't even do this!
[With a flourish of his hand he sent a plume of fire at Blake. Then he pulled back and lit a cigar from his fingertips. Sure, he'd have to throw it away as soon as Kitty Cat got serious, but surely he got points for style.]
y'all keep fighting, i have the thread tracked and I'll jump back in when the time is right!
Once she had done everything in the immediate that she could, Weiss quickly positioned herself behind Blake before putting some distance between herself and the others. Far enough that Roman would have to press Blake back to get to her so she hopefully wouldn't be interrupted. Weiss took out her communicator and started pulling up their names for a private message. These things were far less efficient than their scrolls from Remnant, but it wasn't like they really had phone service on those here. ]

Moving forward, blocking Weiss from Roman's view at least, she scoffed while sliding her foot back, attempting to balance better. She might be part cat, but ice wasn't exactly the greatest of surfaces.]
Why even bother with words? All you do is talk and talk yet you spew nothing but boredom and boast. [She returned and braced herself.
The fire however, made her eyes widen a bit and using the kick off Weiss' aided glyph that at least got her away from direct line of /literal/ fire.
Pushing forward though, she kept herself at all times, between Roman and Weiss, forcing his attention on her.]
So you acquired some flashy magic trick? You couldn't defeat us on your own so you had to force the odds in your favor, huh?

You say that like it's a bad thing to be have the upper hand! Sorry to rain on your parade, Kitty Cat--
[He means that literally. He summons a shower of hail above the girls, then sends a jet of flame over their heads to melt it over them.]
--but see, preparation is what separates the amateurs from professionals like me.
[Now that they're sufficiently drenched and standing on soggy ground, he sends a bolt of lightning at them.]

In their world, Dust was a sort of magical element but over her years of being a book worm, Blake knew a different sort of magic when it made itself show. Roman was indeed boasting these new found skills and that was the most worrisome part. When a clearly insane and vindictive person had power it often ended bad for anyone near. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
The sparks that he had sent forth made the tuff of fluff on her ears puff a bit since it was indeed threatening but what she failed to realize is that her guarding Weiss meant she was about to be vulnerable to the bolt of lightning, especially since they were wet.
All those thoughts spurred in an instant and instinct made her use the dust Weiss gave her, but on Weiss herself.
With quick movements like the shadow she was, Blake sent flames around the ground Weiss was near and used the extra speed boost to shoulder her smaller teammate rather harsh off away from any puddles but for dry spots she made with the fire. However, that resulted in something Blake never predicted.
At first it felt like heartburn.Or like the breaking of one's heart that made their chest swell and tears threaten to spill. Then it felt warmer and warmer until a shrill cry of agony left her in throaty calls.
The bolt had hit directly in her heart. That moment of realization hit her hard, too.
She was a liar.... She told Sun she'd never leave him again... Why did she have to jinx the bit of happiness that passed after Adam breaking her heart? Was this pain revenge for all her sins?
Eyes widen and her weapon dropped with a clank to the ground. A cough and gasp escaped in a blood splatter on the snow and ground in front of her, red like roses and white so cold. Soon to follow was the thud of her knees on the pavement. It still didn't register until she heard the beating of her own heart stop in her ears. Without much of a word other than 'run' she meekly said towards Weiss, Blake slumped over on her side in the snow, lifeless and limp with nothing but tears rolling down her face that instantly froze to ice like crystals and the blood from her lips frozen over like rubies.
Truth be told, she always knew it was fate for Adam to kill her but- since Roman practically was his ally, it was as close to her own prophecy as anything else.

Ruby, get Yang, Blake and I need help. Torchwick's here and--
[ There was a clatter as her phone flew out of her hands. Perhaps because it had happened so fast, the couple of seconds that Weiss spent staring at Blake with wide eyes after having been shoved far enough out of the way felt like they lingered on an eternity. The harsh shove that got her out of the way of harm had Weiss in the snow, not having expected an assault from Blake at that time. She stared at the unmoving figure in the snow in front of her as she stood up again, almost staggering as she could barely take her eyes off of her. She could see the last word on her friend's lips, but it didn't register. ]
BLAKE-!
[ Her phone wasn't waterproof. The snow caught it after she practically screamed, cutting the phone call off after her panicked voice rang out.
"Run." That'd been what Blake's final words were. But Weiss wasn't part of a team right now. Roman had taken that away from her, left her alone in the cold snow. She can only be a good teammate if there's a team to be a part of, and right now, grief and anger and a strong lean toward fight over flight rushed over her, almost blinding light as she reached for Myrtenaster in the snow, swinging it around quickly before gliding immediately past Blake and toward Roman.
As much wrath as Weiss could show when she was upset about something, pure rage wasn't her thing during battle. It was emotional, plain to see. She couldn't think enough to strategize, she just wanted Roman not to be able to hurt anyone ever again. It was stupid, childish. but Weiss didn't know what else to do. Running felt wrong even if retreat was the best option, grabbing Blake would slow her down and leave her back open to Torchwick and they'd both end up dead, so unless she wanted to escape without Blake, it wasn't a likely scenario. Weiss wouldn't leave Blake there. Not with Torchwick. The only other option was to kill him, and she fully intended to. She wanted to. ]
Suddenly, a massive power trip?! Lemme know if he's getting away too easily.
He started to giggle, but it quickly grew into loud, joyful laughter that shook his whole body. Of course he could take her down! He was Roman Torchwick, and she was just a little girl who had gotten lucky a few times. It seemed silly now, how easily he'd forgotten that. He was powerful and capable and it was a waste of his time to worry over these stupid brats. They had only become such a problem because he'd been walking on eggshells to follow Cinder's plans, staying too cautious to put them in their place. That ended now.
He snapped back to reality as he saw Weiss coming at him. Look at her-- all emotion, no finesse. Pathetic. He waited until the last minute to spin away, ashing his cigar on her shoulder as she passed. Why take her down now when he could savor her defeat instead?
Roger!
Just noticed I swapped to prose, oops. Welp I'll stand by that.
He'd been so busy basking in her rage that he'd gotten a little careless himself. He managed to raise his cane and to deflect the worst of the blow, but the snow didn't offer much traction. He stumbled back a few steps before he regained his footing-- just in time to have to flee from the repulsion glyph.
Right then! Less catharsis, more kicking ass. He flipped his cane for a better grip and fired off a shot at the roof, shaking the building and sending a cascade of snow and ice onto the street below. Roman took advantage of the minor avalanche to get behind Weiss, attempting to pull her into a chokehold with his cane against her throat. It was a little more intimate than his usual fighting style, but he would hate to accidentally kill her too.
All prose means is I have to capitalize my sentences lbr
