Koschei entered the job center, Sunday newspaper tucked under his arm. He hoped his school robes would look professional enough. Walking up to the desk, he showed the relevant article.

"Good morning. I'd like to apply for the position of technician at the Planetarium in Nova City."

"That's SSSSSUUUUUPER!"

Up from behind the counter pops the show host. Apparently this is what he does when there isn't an event going. His puppety hands just kind of plop on the keyboard at the desk computer a couple of times, then he turns his head with his mouth open wide and stares at Koschei.

"What's your name?"

Koschei backed up just a bit, when the host appeared, astonished at his greeting. He's never seen a being like this before. He steps forward again, though, when the man asks his name.

"I am Koschei of the House of Oakden."

He leans forward, practically over the desk, like he's staring Koschei over and trying to decide if he's telling the truth with a good, hard stare.

"OK!"

And then he just jumps back and puts his hand on the keyboard some more before reaching underneath the desk... only to pull out some confetti, which he then throws over Koschei's head with both his hands up in excitement.

"CONGRATULATIONS! You're the new Planetarian Technician, Koschei of the House of Oakden!"

He moves from side to side, opening and closing his mouth in a puppety dance.

Koschei ran his hands through his hair, brushing away the confetti, while studying the strange man. Finally, though, he grinned. The man was strange, but likeable.

"Thank you, very much."

"Youuuuu're welcome! Here!"

He went back underneath the desk, then popped up with a coupon. It's for a free drink with the order of any meal at Geraldi's Pizzeria.

"Enjoy your new job!"

And he's going back under the desk, not coming back up now.

Koschei leaned over a bit, trying to see where the funny man had gone. He couldn't really see anything, so he just shrugged and left. Lunch sounded pretty good, really.
