[For a good three hours the new arrival sat frozen, not far from where he woke, too scared to move. This must have been a dream, and maybe if he refused to react to it, he'd finally wake up, back in his own room, where it was safe and the closest thing to reality shifting was the video games he played. That's how it worked, right?

It wasn't working.

After some pathetic sounds that sounded close to sobs, a fit where he outright panicked and shouted for his friends (or anyone) later, Mikoto steeled himself and stood up, gripping onto the folder like it was a lifeline.

He took two steps before he sat back down and retreated within himself again. Yeah, no, he's not going anywhere.

Still... He played with the videophone in his hand a little. At least one thing made some sense in this place. It wasn't too different from his phone back home. After some hesitation, he turned it on, his face barely visible and eyes averted to the ground.]

My name is Mikoto Mikoshiba and I need a job.

[ He stares at the screen for a bit, not quite believing that he's finally seeing someone he knows from home.]

Mikoto-san?

[What. He hadn't really expected that to work, but he'll take it. His surprise at seeing Mayu is enough to get him out of his self-pitying stupor.]

Otouto-san?

When did you get here?!

[ Augusta begins to think that the job center really should be more advertised. A lot of people seem to be asking this question at first arrival, her included. In any case, this boy looks seriously lost and she decides to take mercy and offers a small smile. ]

There is a job center in Genessia City that will help you out. Additionally the newspaper comes on Sunday... whether you really want it or not.. with some job adds in it.

Is there any kind of job in particular that you think you would be qualified for?

[ He doesn't want to put the energy into elaborating.]

But I don't know where that is... [He begins meekly, before he catches a glance of her. In the span of a second, his personality seems to do a 180. He straightens up, flicking his bangs out of his eyes. Even his voice seems lower.

Despite all this, he carefully makes sure to avoid looking at Augusta.]

I've done some modeling in the past, along with acting. [Dating sims and flowers and drawing flowers. Would it count as a betrayal if he drew here for pay, seeing as how he was stuck here?]

I won't do any boring jobs, just so you know.

[ Even Mayu moved further enough away not to get wet when he arrived. It's cold out. He doesn't want Mikoto to get hypothermia.]

[ That was... entirely not as expected. Immediately she feels like sighing a little, but suppresses the urge. It's not like this is the first strange person she's ever talked to. Even though she's never had to work or even lived a path of life where she ever would have to at all, Augusta thinks that such pickyness in regards to jobs carries quite a bit of arrogance. ]

I know there are a number of performers here, so you might well find there is interest in the arts.

As for the location of the employment center, I can give you the address or show you if that makes it easier.

[He's just going to hide his face again and pretend none of this is real. He's in a pool surrounded by girls. And he's wet because he's in a pool.]

[Performing. As in being the focus of a group of people, letting their eyes bore into him for any duration of time?

[ Mikoto might here an exasperated sigh before Mayu gets ready to leave. It's a good thing that it's his day off, and that he's back from the dream dock.

He arrives at the bay, with a blanket and a large cup of coffee. Getting an extra coat would take too long. He calls out.]

Mikoto-san!

[ He also sends the older boy a video, to make his position more obvious]

[He hears it, but he doesn't respond. If Mayu wants to get annoyed, he can. Mikoto didn't ask him to help.

He...all he sees is water and buildings. It looks the same to Mikoto as where he is, which is unfamiliar. But he thinks he hears his voice, so he peeks up from his knees and scoots in the general direction, before reluctantly picking himself up and turning on the video.]

Otouto-san! I have no idea where you are so don't move!

[ He could say the same for Mikoshiba]

Get out of the cave.

[That would make hin easier to spot, and hopefully he can be heard.]

Yeah, yeah I'm working on it.

[He starts his trek out of the cave, cautiously peering outside, as if expecting to get attacked at any moment. When anything horrible fails to happen, he takes a few more steps, cupping both hands over his mouth, shouting with as much force as his lungs can make.]

Otouto-san! Otouto-san!

[ Once he hears Mikoto, it's easier to pinpoint his location. He rushes over. Normally he'd move at a more casual place, but it's winter.]

Found you. Let's go.

[ Mayu grabs his arm and starts to lead him away from the cave.]

[Considering she works in Everglade she couldn't do much more to help unless she had been in Genssia at the time.]

[It was one of those days where Minako for once didn't stay in Nova City and kept an eye out for anything of interest in Genessia such as arrows of love when she came across the other. She had to admit he was rather cute. Nice hair at least. This was enough to get her to walk over with a smile.]

[ Can she talk to a guy once without getting this weird arrogant flirting? It would be refreshing... Even so, she said she'd do this and so she will. ]

There is a multitude of jobs you can take, so don't concern yourself too much. My shift at my own job is just over, so I can come and guide you. You're still at your place of arrival, right?

[He feels like he might have just witnessed a rare sight that possibly only his elder brother had shared.

He's also freezing, soggy attire leaving him even worse off than before. Annoyed, he yanks what he can feel of his arm back. Something about the situation leaves him discontent.]

Hold on a minute! I'll lead the way, and you'll handle the directions. Unlike you, I don't let stupid setbacks like these get the better of me.

[Somehow, it's easier for him to relax a little and pretend his previous moment of freaking out didn't happen.]

Any welcoming center isn't going to offer anything close to the entertainment we could have together. Yuna, was it? Where's the best place to go on a date?

[There was a person here. Why was she here? There was no guarantee she had seen him, so Mikoto kept as still as possible, until she began to approach. Had she seen him?? Scrambling to his feet, he did his best to hide. She was cute, unfamiliar, and talking to him.]

[Wait, wasn't he supposed to say something?]

You'd remember me if you saw me. I always leave an impression on the cute girls I meet.

[He was freezing, but his face felt like it was on fire.]

[He goes quiet. Normally, his target(s) would be squealing by now. What error had he made? Why this reaction?

Unless... He understands now! She's the intelligent type! She'll act practical and matter-of-fact about everything, but that's just to hide her vulnerabilities. He has to go with a different approach.

Feeling slightly more secure than before, he lowers his eyes, smile almost shy.]

I am. If it's not too much trouble for you. I'll trust you and put myself in your capable hands.

[ Seriously, what's with these turns in mood? Humble flattery seems to be the mood now and not like that's bad in itself, but also... why?
Augusta shrugs to herself faintly. ]

I will be over shortly, it's not far from here.

[ She takes a moment too long to disconnect the video for someone entirely accustomed to technology. In any case, it will take about 12 minutes for her to arrive at the bay. ]

[ The cold skin is worrying. Mayu wraps the blanket around his brother's heroine inspiration. He's not sure if it's safe to offer coffee yet. Warm drinks should help.The journey to the Bay should keep the coffee from being too hit. He holds the cup to Mikoto's mouth.]

Can you drink?

[ There's another rare sight of Mayu showing emotion. He might start to cry if Mikoto continues to choose his pride over his life.]


Easier if I just take you. I'll carry you if walking's too hard.

[Mikoto doesn't argue about the blanket. He does, however, duck his head, blushing furiously while he makes some unpleasant noises that sound like he's trying to hold back his tears.]

What kind of question is that? Don't be so quick to underestimate me. This is nothing.

[The coffee does smell delicious. Gratefully, he begins to sip, becoming greedier once the warmth hits his tongue and then sinks down to his chest. It's a shame that with his shivering, he doesn't look cool at all.

What's this? Mayu offering to do something that requires physical effort? He supposes he can understand, at least a little. He can't imagine being in this place for any amount of time. Mikoto stares at him in awe...and looks away, marching forward.]
