[The camera has a shaky view of the Bay but not the normal Bay everyone is accustomed to. No, the view is much lower tan usual. About knee height, if that.]

A little lower, Su-san! [The camera drifts a little lower and a young girl is suddenly in view. The camera moves a little closer and--] No, that's too close!

[The camera collides with the girl and she jumps back, shaking her head.] I think we're going to need to work on that, Su-san... [Her shoulders slump slightly.]

This place is really far from the lily field. I don't think I've gone this far before... Where's a place with a lot of flowers? Not stupid flowers like sunflowers, though. Good flowers.

Another beep of her phone? Sakuya couldn't catch a break... even when she was taking a break! She reached for the device and answered, raising a brow as she recognized the familiar face on the other side. Where had she seen this youkai before? That flower incident with the spirits and the judge of the dead? Yeah that seemed about right. "Another from Gensokyo it seems. You're that doll from the lily field, right?" She didn't seem overly concerned.

"That is an unusual first question to ask. Regardless, I'm almost certain they provided you with a map inside your pod. I have not, however, seen any especially impressive flower fields since arriving." Best to get that question out of the way now.

"That's right. This is really far from that hill, though."

She recognizes this person, from the flower incident. She tilts her head. "I do have a map but it doesn't say where any good flowers are--and it's an important question! Su-san and I miss the lilies already."

The maid drummed her nails on the desk she was sitting at, closing her eyes for a moment and then focusing again on the camera. "I... cannot think of any flowers. Certainly not in Genessia City. Your best bet is in Fayren as it is more wild than the other archways. Failing that you may be able to find flowers in a sub archway. As I understand it there are quite a few."

She didn't really hold anything against the doll, but she did want to make sure the youkai was at least satisfied enough to not throw a fit. Her poison was dangerous. "If you want to simply be around flowers I do believe there is a flower shop in Nova City."

She considers this information. There's a faint memory...she speaks up. "What about parks or gardens?"

Medicine is confused but not angry. Not yet. There's plenty of options, so it seems. "Is a human there?"

"Those may work but are not advised. Parks and garden are both made by humans who enjoy spending time at the locations." She looked thoughtful. "Unless you no longer hate humans. In which case there are plenty. This place is far more heavily populated than Gensokyo. There are thousands, perhaps tens of thousands of humans living here."

"As for the flower shop, I'm not sure if a human runs it. Again, if you are willing to tolerate humans that would certainly be a good place for you to spend time. There will be customers after all." A small pause. "Truthfully I'm not aware of why you distrusted them in the first place. I do not think you told me, or if you did it has been a long time."

"Oh, right... those are made for humans." Her old owner might have taken her to such places to play, years ago. She's not sure. It doesn't really matter in the end, anyway. The camera shakes a bit as she hears the second part. "There's--that many?! That's more than the village...!"

She really hadn't thought about the customers. She frowns. "I'll find a wild field, then. Hopefully there's lilies around here somewhere... Fayren, maybe." She doesn't want to contact humans anymore than she has to.

Why does she distrust humans? It really was a simple answer. Dolls were tools, crafted by humans to be constant companions. Yet what's the point of a doll that was no longer wanted? It was to be thrown out like a piece of trash. It's a while before she finally answers. "They mistreat my kind. They create dolls only to forget them."

Sakuya nodded once. "If you require assistance I will set some time aside. However you must promise not to try and poison me again. I came away from our duel feeling quite ill." Even if Medicine agreed she would have to be very careful.

"Hmm. I can't imagine all humans do but I see your point." A pause, the maid looking a little thoughtful. "I never had a doll as a child. I suppose if I did I would keep it on a shelf next to my other childhood objects." At least she wouldn't throw it out.

"Regardless, you want to preserve them, correct? If that is the case, have you considered talking to humans? I'm sure if you ask to take care of their old dolls they will turn them over to you. It's a start."

"I'll do my best." She really meant it, too, but she really was an inexperienced youkai. Self-control was something that came with time...

She frowns. "Would you remember them if you did? I think it'd be lonely being stuck on a shelf and never being played with."

In the end, that was a doll's purpose, wasn't it? "Of course I want to save them--you think they'd give them to me? The humans in the village avoided the lily field so..."

Really, it didn't help that the flower event had caused the poison to spread or that Medicine didn't want to be around them in the first place.

"Well... I don't play with the things on that shelf, no. But I put them there so I don't forget. I see them every day, after all... Well..." A pause. "I saw them every day. The Scarlet Mansion isn't here at the moment."

"Humans avoid the lily field because of the poison. Taking a human's life is a very simple thing. It can be done even by accident, so it's not surprising they would avoid an area the felt was dangerous. But I'm sure that if you asked them nicely I'm quite certain some of them would give you the dolls they have outgrown. Some may want compensation so I would suggest finding a way to make a little money if you plan on doing that."

"...You can't visit home either, huh."

Is it sympathy that she feels or just acknowledgement? She's not very sure. "Even though the lilies are pretty, they're dangerous to humans so humans avoid them if they can... Makes sense. I don't understand why I'd have to pay them for the safety of my kind. If I'm taking what they don't want, wouldn't they be happy with that?"

"No. I can't. It is possible to return to a sort of home but you must sacrifice something of value. Unless My Lady requests I give something up to bring the mansion back I am quite content living in Lord Tepes's castle."

"And while I know it is unfair that humans may wish for payment for their dolls, many of them don't understand the fact that these things may one day gain life, so they do not act in the best interest of the doll. On top of that humans function where everything has a perceived value and sentimental memory can be valuable to some, though some dolls I'm sure are rare and have a value." She looked thoughtful. "It's less buying the doll and more compensating them for the valuable memories they may lose as a result of giving it up."

"I guess Su-san and I will have to find a flower field, then. I'm not really comfortable living in a house anymore."

"They're careless with them. Even if they don't know--if they cherish them, why do they treat them so badly? They put precious memories in them only to forget them." She understands what Sakuya is trying to say, she does, yet it doesn't make any sense. "They seem to give up their precious feelings so easily that shouldn't they be happy to know they're being taken care of?"

"I'm unsure if you will find one that will suit your tastes. Rather, I don't think you'll find a field of poisonous flowers, but I do wish you luck in your search."

A small sigh. "Again. Most humans do not understand this. They're not stupid just... ignorant. They grow up and move beyond needing such things like dolls, but they still keep the doll because it reminds them of their childhood. It is a time many humans look back fondly on. I wont pretend this is every case as there are some truly unpleasant humans out there, but this is usually how it is."

"Well, maybe not as poisonous as the lilies but there are a bunch of flowers that are dangerous to eat... If not, why. I'll just make my own!"

"I don't think I get it but--I think this is more complicated than I thought..."

[Aw, this girl looked sweet.]

Hey, guessing you've just arrived here, right?

There's a large park in Genessia City if you're looking for flowers.

Uh-huh.

[She tilts her head.]

Well, quite a few people come by, but it's not overly busy if that's what you mean.

I don't think I caught your name, sweetie?

[She pauses.]

Have you got something in mind?

Medicine, huh...that's a pretty interesting name.

I want to live in the flowers.

[Such a simple soul.]

[Even as the video connects, the person on the other side barely seems to be paying attention to it. She is mostly muttering to herself.]

Another one, hmmm? No one of any importance but....

[The vampire clears her throat suddenly, actually addressing the little doll.}

You won't find much that you are familiar with here, girl. It is a much different place then Gensokyo.

There's more humans here, for one...

[Stupid humans, thinking they owned the place.]

Flowers should grow here.

[More humans then Remilia had seen since she first started calling Gensokyo home, that was for sure. Not that they were of any real consequence. They were background noise as far as she was concerned.]

You will grow to get used to them. Some of them might even be interesting, though I would not count on it. As for flowers, I'm sure you can find them if you look hard enough. I've little interest in such things outside of my own garden, and that sadly I do not have access to.

Why? Are you scared of them or something?

[What is fearing people stronger than yourself? It's an honest question. Only people afraid didn't venture out into the world... she had been one of those people, once. ]

[It was a clear sign of the different ways of thinking the two had. Remilia has reasons for not wanting to interact with the common populace, but fear of them is hardly one of them. She manages to not look offended at the silly question, she understands the doll youkai is still quite young.]

You still have a lot to learn, girl. It is a distaste for them, not fear, that makes me wish to avoid them. They frequently fear ME.

It's not as if I like humans, either. They're pretty worthless.

[AFter all, it as the disregard of a human that made her become a youkai. Yet, she was also afraid of venturing out too far from the lily field.]

I don't get it, though. It's one thing to not like humans and it's another to never to go out. Right?
