But she's tried everything, and she can't fly anymore, or shapeshift out of this mess, and trying to darg herself anywhere resulted in carpet burn which not only hurt like Glob, but made the already itchy scales hit a maddening level of itchy. she can't even reach water to stop them itching.

Though, it's audio for a reason - she's too embarrassed about the fact that she's stuck and that she now has the tail of a fish to show herself straight away. Mermaids are cool and all.... but not when she is one.]

[There's a pause. Well, she like BJ enough that she's going to skip all the dramatics and get to the point on this one.]

I got hit by whatever the Glob is going on. I need some help getting to water pretty quick.

"No problem, babes. I'll be right there," Betelgeuse promised. He magicked himself to her apartment and appeared in the nearest surface reflective enough to hold a steady image. Grinning crookedly, he knocked on his side of it. "Yo, Marceline! I'm over here! Nice tail!"

[There is a good reason she told you to knock first. The second you're knocking, is the second her hands fly up to her torso, covering her upper half. She even got the stereotypical mermaid endowments.... but has lacked a sea to get seashells or the weirdly friendly sea creatures to... cover. So, naturally, she freaks out a touch. But it lacks the demonic face that usually accompanies a freakout which should tell you it wasn't her that put herself into this shape if nothing else does.]

Betelgeuse laughed unrepentantly, keeping his gaze mostly on the ceiling.

"Heh, heh, heh, sorry, babes," he offered, shrugging. "I didn't realize you were having problems with your rack. Though, what's so perverted about a guy admiring a gal's rack, anyway? There's worse things than a little honest perversion, y'know. Uh. Want some help with that?"

Betelgeuse laughed, then stuffed two of his fingers into his mouth. He gave a long whistle and the floor space next to the walls began rising. As a pool formed, water bubbled up from the floor, filling the empty space. A ring of bubbles wrapped themselves around Marceline's chest, solidifying into a tacky bikini top that looked like plastic bubbles glued to a thin strip of blue cloth.

"There ya go," Betelgeuse announced proudly. "Can I come over now?"

[She's still a little pink in the cheeks, but it's just fading embarrassment. She's a lot better about it now that she's covered. The floor of water is awesome, providing relief for her instantly - also calming her mood. And tacky is better than none at all.]

Betelgeuse hopped into the room and sat down on the edge of the water. He grinned.

"So. Mermaid, huh? Looks like I lucked out. I got a magic pipe."

Betelgeuse shrugged.

"Yeah, I know, but what are ya gonna do? Besides, this kinda gear was pretty standard, when I was alive."

[You get a raised eyebrow.] Really? It must have been pretty weird when you were alive.

"Yeah, pretty weird," he agreed, chortling. "Had us the Black Death, a bunch of Edwards and one Richard for kings. And, we've already commented on the fashions. What about you? Were you born into this modern world of video phones and cinema?"

[She was about to ask a question about the Black Death (As in: What in the name of glob was that) And snicker about the names of the kings, and it all just dies at his question. She sinks down a little - up to her shoulders, floating quietly for a moment.

And, you know, thinking about whether she wants to answer the question at all. But they've got to know each other pretty well, and they're what she'd call friends, so he gets an answer rather than a brush off or a troll response.] I don't remember much from before the Mushroom War - I was pretty young when it happened. [No, from that time she mostly remembers being scared, being sick, and Simon making her feel better about all of it. Actually, she mostly remembers Simon, clinging on to those memories of the way he was before he got lost.]

Because they're friends, Betelgeuse actually feels a bit bad about making her droop.

"Ah, don't worry about it, babes," he coaxed. "People are always fighting for some stupid reason or another. Just give 'em a good scare and move on. What about since then? What did you do at home?"

Well, I've traveled all over Ooo. Hula Hooping in the Fire Kingdom, Taming gold-beasts, all adventure-y stuff. And I'm a musician, so there was that. Loads of gigs.

He's the Party Wolf. He's a huge magical wolf... Or, the head at least. And he likes to party. He's definitely awesome at it, and he always knows when there's one going down. [She has respect for the guy who can party hard all the time.]
