5th Heist- Anonymous Video

[At first, Roman didn't think much of Weiss' public declaration of war. Zuko was a force to be reckoned with but he could handle Weiss. Thing is, her little business was getting a lot of recruits. If she just stuck to her corner of town he could happily forget that she existed, but at this rate Schnee Corp will reach the status it had in Remnant. The last thing he needs is that prissy little tyrant making dirty deals with the authorities while she still held a personal grudge against him. Best to nip this in the bud.

The video appears to be taken on a rooftop. He lounges against the railing, a glass of wine in one hand and a smoldering cigar in the other.]

Good afternoon! Roman Torchwick speaking. Forgive the anonymous video, but I'm choosy about giving out my personal number. The boys in law enforcement can't keep their hands off me and I'd hate to encourage them.

[He winks at the camera.]

Anyway, I'd like to talk to you all about the Schnee Company. You could consider this a public service announcement. I'm from the same world as her, so I've got a little preview of what we're in for if we let them set up shop here. See that file attachment there? Go on, take a look!

[He takes a drag on his cigar and blows a couple of smoke rings while he waits. For anyone who opens the file, it's a long word document about the Schnee Dust Corporation. It's truth padded by reasonably believable lies.]

That's some but not all of the accusations leveled at the Schnee Dust Corporation in the past few years. Human rights abuses, shady business deals with organized crime and politicians, drug and weapons trafficking... they even threw in some sex scandals to keep things interesting! If you doubt me, you can always go to the Vale subarchway and ask around. The specifics might be different since it's not quite like our Vale, but you'll get the gist of it.

Now I'm not one to judge, but you all seem pretty happy with your small business economy, unbiased justice system, and honest government. I know we all have to make a living, but when I see all these poor suckers falling all over themselves to be part of the Schnee Personal Army...

[He shrugs.]

See, guys like me are honest about our dishonesty. You get exactly what you see. Unfortunately, Ms. Schnee isn't so inclined. I figured the public might want a little warning before they get in over their heads.

this was so fucking stupid- but he could tell that it wouldn't end well at all. it almost reminded him of scar chain, when they were clashing with the undertakers.... as if he would be dragged into this shit again.]

[ Weiss wants so badly to get offended or scream or tell him off for insulting her family. She wants nothing more than to tell him he's wrong, but the reality is? He's right. Not about all of the things on that list- she's aware of quite a few of the problems, but there are a few things that sound ludicrous to her. There's no way to confirm or deny the ones she doesn't know here, though, not with the only Schnee Company buildings being the Vale branches, cut off from Atlas's headquarters.

So Weiss doesn't reply right away. For a brief moment she considers not replying at all. She doesn't need to reply to Roman. In fact, she shouldn't even talk to him. She's certainly not going to let her temper get the better of her this time- that was how she'd ended up in his clutches the first time.

She didn't turn on the feed. She repeated the video a couple of times, but then shut it off. Her response didn't need to be to Roman. It needed to be to the people he'd just told to distrust her. They were the ones who mattered, and she could throw her fit in the comfort of her own home, and once it was out of the way, she could attempt to make a.. reasoned appeal.

Even if that meant she was going to have to tell a lot of people things she didn't want to, and risk a lot if Winter or her father somehow ended up here. She wasn't ready to face either of them, but.. she didn't want to let him drag her through the mud any more. If she didn't do something, she'd lose everything here. ]

[ She didn't actually do anything, but let's be honest. "We need to talk" is just code for someone being in trouble no matter who the people are.

Either way, she doesn't text him back even if he responds, but she'll come at the aforementioned time and place. Even if she.. doesn't really want to. Cinder being gone means she's not in the best moods, nor does she feel like she's really got any reason to continue doing any of what she had been. ]

[She's experienced working with corrupt governments- in fact, she enjoyed it. Chaos kept her abilities up to par and her life interesting....she did so hate boredom. Still, this was interesting- this announcement- so she's willing to meddle a bit]

Weiss Schnee has something of a grudge against me. Now I'm not going to argue about whether or not I deserve it and who killed who, but I'd rather she not run every institution in my city. It could get quite inconvenient.

[ Honestly, this whole thing from Olisha's standpoint was a nuisance. It was like watching two lower class demons fighting over who could do the most damage when all they could do was blow up a building or two. It's laughable at best, but she's also not taking any sides here. She doesn't see a need to, at this point. ]
