[ A couple of hours had passed since Roman had made his announcement. It took her a while to calm down. After the hard learned lesson about not reacting emotionally from the first time Roman had attacked her, albeit in a very different manner, she knew better than to say anything while she was still reeling. Anxiety, stress, hatred, fear of losing her new friends, and fear of losing what she'd just begun to build on top of what she'd already lost to Torchwick were overwhelmingly keeping her from trying to react without thinking things through first. She'd turned her phone off for a short while- it was probably a mistake, it probably made it look like she was hiding, but the reality was that she was just a teenager who was trying to make some kind of a difference.

But after she'd had a chance to breathe, she worked out what it was she'd wanted to say. Because Torchwick wasn't the one she had to answer to- it was everyone else. The people who had put their faith in Schnee Company here, the people who believed in her and thought she was a good person, and even the people who didn't know what to think yet. They were who was important, not someone using her father's sins to try to destroy her. ]

[ Weiss took a deep breath and flickered the video on, her gaze unwavering as it did. She looked determined, serious. If any member of her family ever came here, she would likely be ruined after this video, but this was the only way to save the life she'd started building here. ]

Many of you may have seen Roman Torchwick's video and accusations earlier. The answer is yes.

Yes, many of those things are true. My father and our company under his leadership have been accused of doing those things and I have personally witnessed some of them. I don't have evidence of some of the things that Torchwick detailed in his apparent report, the source of which I find suspect given that while Schnee Dust Company in Remnant has managed to evade essentially all charges. If a report like that were legitimate, it certainly would've risen much sooner and certainly not in Genessia instead of back home. And I happen to know at least a couple of those are false, but the important ones aren't.

[ Weiss took another deep breath. This was, honestly, hard for her. She hated the idea that her family's name was being dragged through the mud and that she was confirming it, even if she knew what was true. She wanted nothing more than to scream that Torchwick was a liar, but that wouldn't solve anything. ]

Schnee Dust Company has been known for both Human and Faunus rights abuses, most condemningly the forced labor of the Faunus people. Yes, Torchwick was telling the truth about that, but as usual he ran his mouth without knowing or including the entire story.

My family didn't claim our name in bloodshed or the sweat and tears of Faunus. It was my grandfather's company, and until my father took over it was a moral company. The Schnee family name didn't start off standing for these gross violations of humans rights, and I have no intention of allowing it to stay that way. Perhaps if Torchwick had taken a moment to question why the heiress to the company in question was busy attending a combat school for Huntresses instead of living easily in the comfort of my multiple homes and a plush office on the top floors of Schnee Company headquarters, he would have realized that leveling those accusations here was a mistake.

I chose to become a huntress because I have every intention of taking my family's company back from my father to make certain that the Schnee Dust Company doesn't operate in the dark, because I will need those skills to reclaim it from him. I never brought any of this up here in Genessia not because I had the intent to deceive any of you, but because by saying this publicly, I run the risk of my family finding out if any of them come to Genessia. I don't intend to back down back home, nor do I intend to let Torchwick take Schnee Company down to his level here. Schnee Company in Genessia is going to be a prime example of what Schnee Dust Company in Remnant should operate like.

The entire reason that the people from my world agreed not to start a witch hunt for Torchwick when he first arrived was on the basis of second chances. Torchwick squandered his when he attacked my friend and I, killing her and kidnapping me out of a sick need for vengeance because we've cut a couple of his heists short- a part of our jobs as huntresses.

Don't take Schnee Company and my second chance away from us because Torchwick decided to share what my father is responsible for and I haven't had the chance to fix back home yet.

Yes. It's a job to protect the people. How that's done and what it's used for is entirely up to us. Some people become police, others become military or choose to protect small villages. There are others who want to be heroes, and others still who want to fight against discrimination and inequality.

Being a huntress isn't a single job, but my duty as one is to protect the people by making the things my family has done right.

If they really are your allies, they'll stick by you. Who even gives a shit about all of what's been said? No one is pure and innocent, everything and everyone has been corrupted by somethin' or another.

I care. I never claimed to be pure and innocent, and I've even frankly been guilty of discrimination and prejudice myself in the past; I'm not perfect. But admitting that or admitting that others aren't either isn't going to help me keep the company and the life I'm trying to build here. I'm not going to let him ruin it for me.

[He's one of those who doesn't know what to think. All of the information that has been hidden and only recently surfaced doesn't look good on Weiss' end, but she has been nothing but upfront when he's confronted her about it.

As for Schnee Dust Company...there are some horrifying truths he's read about, but no major power is without its secrets, and it's not on his world, so he doesn't think it's his problem.

Schee Company doesn't even run the same risk of attaining that kind of power here. There are too many unpredictable factors, Weiss' own permanence here probably the most prominent one, the other being that people from any world with countless types of powers are pulled here. Some people would be content to let the Company do whatever and hold that power away from everyone else, but with the conflict already happening, he's sure that won't become an issue unless people try to make it into one. Like they're doing now.

More importantly, he's worried about this whole "Personal Army" business.]

[ Even calling it 'hidden' when it comes to Genessia is a little difficult, since it just was that it wasn't relevant to the environment. No one starts a company that's completely different from the company in question and says 'by the way my dad is kind of a horrible person' to everyone who walks in their front doors.

Are you asking about the problems with Torchwick or Schnee Company in Genessia- which, by the way, is not even remotely reminiscent of Schnee Dust Company. For one thing, we don't sell and develop weapons, ammunition, and energy propellant with the military here and we don't do anything that requires massive amounts of labor. We help people and host events. Most of our profits come from fundraising, donations from associated companies, advertising, and company-sponsored events. Even if my father's done bad things, there's not even a risk of them being a problem here, if you're worried about that.

It shouldn't, but when it comes to stating whether or not I think my father's done the right thing, it's important to be clear.

[ At least, here it is. Back home.. it's a little more complicated if she actually wants any chance at accomplishing anything. Her father could have her removed from Beacon so fast that she wouldn't be able to get the skills she needs to overthrow him.

As for her family being alone.. just because she doesn't agree with them doesn't mean they aren't her family. That's the tricky part. ]

The biggest thing that I need is for someone to arrest Torchwick. He's a danger to everyone here, everyone I know, and everyone working for my company. I'm not going to ask you to fight him, but if you see him, I'd appreciate it if you reported the sighting to any of the City Guardians or myself so we can get in contact with people capable of apprehending him. His post was a response to me calling him out for his crimes after he committed a number of them here instead of just in our world. Schnee Company and those related to it aren't going to be his only victims. We're not his first, and we won't be his last.

I have to care how it's viewed. That's part of my job. If a company isn't seen for what it is, if Schnee Company isn't seen as an honest company doing its part to make this place better? Then it's not going to get the business it needs to keep itself open, operational, and effective.

As for what I pose to gain from it? A number of things. Practice, for one thing. A job I can be proud to have instead of trying to hide what I'm doing from my friends because I don't believe that it's something I should be doing, for another. Doing something that I enjoy doing in order to make the money I need to sustain the lifestyle I want is, of course, a factor. There are plenty of ways to do all of that, but I chose the type of company I did because I want to make a difference while I do all of that. I'm not so deluded that I'm going to say the only reason I'm doing this is to help people, but it's certainly one of them.

For what it's worth, speaking as a member of the Faunus race who face oppression and mistreatment from humans and the Schnee Dust Company alike, Weiss isn't her company. Weiss is an upstanding person who respects the law and wouldn't even steal an apple. The things her company have done isn't a reflection on her as a person. She's been a great friend to me and I count her among the people I would trust with my life.

I don't say this because she is bestfriends with the woman I love, I say this because Weiss has proven herself to be a great person. Don't judge her because of what some murdering bowler hat wearing jerkbag says. Get to know her and let her prove that you can trust her.
