And we'll leave the light on for you.

WHO: .. A lot of people.
WHEN: 3/13-3/15
WHERE: Amagi Inn, other places
WHAT: A three day workshop that isn't actually a workshop.

It took a while. Perhaps far too long, really, but the time has finally come for a good chunk of Satsuki's associates to meet one another under a more relaxed enviroment. And with the group arriving at the Amagi Inn being larger than usual, rather than pull up to the place in Gamagoori's familiar vehicle of choice, they arrive in a much larger vehicle. (Like a bus or something.) While not everyone has been able to be picked up personally, the agreed upon time is to arrive at 2pm in front of the inn with a special exception, which just so happens to be.. In five minutes.

The outside of the place looks surprisingly modern, really. But it's upon stepping inside that everyone's going to get smacked in the face with some good ol' tradition japanese culture.

(OOC: The below headers are general suggestions for the three days that can have handwaved participation and all that good stuff. Feel free to post whatever you like with the activity name in the header under whatever day.)

Because, seriously, there's gotta be something for the people who have had quite enough of the water after being in a boat all day.

Inumuta has the tech. Go ahead, try to stop him.

Check-in and the rest of the afternoon

[personal profile] koishi_komeiji 2015-03-26 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
Koishi, of course, arrived hand in hand with Satori, her other clutching a small bag containing several essentials. And it was a good thing too. Without her elder sister's grip its likely Koishi would have already dashed off after some distraction. This continued until they were fully checked in and joined the present gathering.

"Hey! Heeeeyyy!" She waved her bag around. Apparently she had not yet had a chance to put it away. "Hello there! I'm Koishi Komeiji! Miss White said I should introduce myself so I am! I'm a satori youkai and so is my sister. You don't have to be scared of us though. I can't read minds and my sister is super friendly!" Her face was positively alight, her closed third eye bobbing and weaving, occasionally nudging her sister's open one.

She only paused her chattering long enough for Satori to introduce herself as well.

"It's going to be so fun! We can do all sorts of things! I've never been to a bathhouse like this before. I want to see and do everything! With all of you! Won't that be fun? And with everyone else too. It's all so pretty and..." Eventually Satori had to drag her off to their room which was right next to Satsuki's closer to the hallway's entrance and exit. After all, there was no better strategic place for a pair of mind readers. Just in case.

* * *

Koishi spent the rest of the afternoon true to her word. She was EVERYWHERE, even bothering some of the other people there provided they could see her. Eventually she was distracted by a rather large fish tank containing a variety of colorful sea creatures. The green haired youkai actually stopped completely to look at them, hands and third eye pressed against the glass.

Saturday 1/2 Fishing!

[personal profile] koishi_komeiji 2015-03-27 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
This was the thing Koishi was really looking forward to. The fishing trip... Oh what joy of joys. She can barely contain herself with excitement. And that's really saying something considering it's Koishi. Satori could barely convince her to wear a lighter outfit for the trip. Short sleeves and a shorter skirt and sandals (with the bathing suit underneath presumably for the hotsprings later.) This, unfortunately, did reveal her forearms as well as one of the points the tendrils slid from her arms near the crease in her elbow as well as a faint blue tint just under the skin. It was unnerving but not too bad.

She allowed herself to be buckled into the car with little fuss, babbling the entire way to the lake about fishing back home in the underground and all the strange fish that one could catch there. They apparently weren't quite as delicious as surface fish save for the numerous eels that lived in the lakes. If they were as delicious as the younger Komeiji claimed they might be worth looking into at some point.

Upon arriving Koishi squirmed and struggled to be released from her seatbelt, taking off high into the air in an instant. Turning in a circle she shot off in the direction of the lake not waiting to grab her fishing pole or... even waiting for an explanation as to what a fishing pole is.

When everyone else arrived she was already hovering a short distance out over the lake, ignoring the boats entirely, staring down into the shallow water with one hand on the sunhat Nonon had selected for her. Her third eye swayed and bobbed as she tilted her head this way and that. Quick as lightning she grabbed at the water, pulling out a very small fish, shrugging and tossing it to one side. Of course the bigger fish would be further out.

Saturday 2/2 Hot Springs! (Warning: Youkai Anatomy)

[personal profile] koishi_komeiji 2015-03-27 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Once they arrived back to the inn, and with the fishing gear put away (and Satori finishing up combing all the aquatic plant life out of Koishi's hair) it was time to take a nice relaxing soak in the hot springs. It would be quite lovely considering how cold the lake water had been.

Due to the previously mentioned lake plants, the Komeiji sisters were among the last to arrive, Koishi instantly shedding the extra shirt and skirt and hopping in wearing the bathing suit and showing exactly why satori youkai always wore such long sleeves. The skin on her thighs, upper arms and around the base of her neck, and most of her stomach was more translucent and tinged blue in Koishi's case. Numerous indentations where the tentacles emerged dotted her flesh, four on each arm and two on each leg. The blue tint continued up over her shoulders, stopping as it hit her collar bone and shoulder blades, visible through any gaps in the bone. Likewise her ribs stood out a much lighter color against all the deep blue. Her muscles must have also been light in color as, despite the translucency of her skin, there was no visible red muscle. To make matters more unsettling the blue tint would shift independently on occasion as Koishi internally readjusted her extra limbs from time to time.

Fortuately the swimsuit that Nonon had selected was a similar shade of blue which helped trick the eye into so her inhuman traits were a little more hidden. Unfortunately, the suit had to be a two piece. With her third eye connected at her ankles it was impossible for Koishi to step into anything so things like pants or a one piece bathing suit were completely out of the question. The bottoms actually tied on either side leaving a fluffy bow (or perhaps they were snaps simply hidden behind a bow) and the top was modest enough to be almost a tank top.

Fortunately Koishi seemed oblivious to any stares she got, hopping quite eagerly into the water, moving out into the center, and dog-paddling around (even though she could touch the bottom.) Her third eye did its best to not sink below the surface of the water, poking out like a periscope whenever Koishi's head went under.

Check-in and the rest of the afternoon

Inumuta still wasn't entirely sure how he felt about the bustling flurry of energy that was one Koishi Komeiji, the entirely baffling girl whom Satsuki had found reason to add to her ranks. He had been paying close attention to the new faces, assessing what he could of them through the stored conversational data on their curious devices and watching them when and where he could. However....he still wasn't able to make much sense of Koishi.

Perhaps, he thought, she was simply too impulsive for him to fully understand.

"They're not food, you know." He said finally, after watching the girl stare at the fish tank for several minutes. After her talk of eating rabbits, he couldn't even begin to guess her thoughts on decorative fish.

Koishi blinked and turned away from the fish, looking at Inumuta. She was frowning, her lips pursed. "I didn't think they were. They're much too small for eating. All bone and organ and icky things." She dropped her hands, her eye pulling back, having left several unsightly smudges on the glass. At least she hadn't been tapping on it. "I have some koifish back at home. I like watching them swim around the pond and watching them eat the food I drop in."

She turned completely toward Inumuta now, floating over to him. "I won them at a fish scooping game during a fair that the nice moon doctor was hosting in the bamboo forest! The rabbit youkai said I would win if I scooped out the really really big fish and I figured it out and scooped it. It was too big for the bowl though so Miss Frog let me use her hat."

"Then we took the fish down to Chireiden and Miss Frog drove a stone spike into a rock to make a spring of water to fill our fish pond. Then she planted a plum tree. That water must be magic tough because it makes me feel good wen I drink it and it makes all the plants grow bigger and stronger than before! It's really nice!"

Wow she got off topic quickly.

Despite the bizarreness of some of the names she gave the other people in her little tale, it almost sounded like a quaint story of a simpler time and place. The fish scooping game in particular was one that he hadn't played since he was a small child.

Inumuta backed up a step when she drew near, just enough to preserve his personal space, and he regarded her curiosly.

"That's an interesting story," he murmured. Then, for the sake of politeness: "You seem like the sort who would have a lot of them."

Of course his step back only made her take another step forward. Sorry Inumuta but Koishi tends to want to remain close to people. Her third eye especially, drifting up and forward, examining his mind as best it could.

"You're really calm and cold Mister. I like it. you're really good at figuring things out, aren't you? Your mind is full of lots of blue. Chilly and covering everything. Sharp translucent blacks. Like obsidian. It's really nice. Very very solid and clear." Satsuki probably warned him at some point about Koishi's mind probing. "It's spiky too. That's good~" She neglected to explain why.

At the mention of stories though she perked up, her eyes brightening some. "Yeah. Sis and I have lots and lots of stories. I dunno if they would be interesting to a human though. Would they? If you found that interesting then you might! I dunno." She tilted her head. "Also sis is better at telling them than I am. She writes books. But she doesn't want people reading them to know she wrote them so she doesn't sign her real name."

He had recalled reading about the satori's mind-reading capabilities in his brief research, but Koishi and her sister seemed to be wholly different from the traditional youkai of myth. For one, they weren't anything near resembling monkeys even as well as the absent Sanegayama, and, for another...Koishi's words almost sounded like something he would expect from someone who experienced synesthesia as a part of their lives. He wasn't sure whether to feel insulted or complemented by the words, so he took the easiest approach:

"Thank you," he said simply, adjusting the fit of his glasses while he spoke. "I'm rather fond of blue, myself."

He settled back, slim arms crossing before him. "Stories are stories. Anyone would like them if they're good."

It really wouldn't take long at all, especially as Bridget had found herself rather unexpectedly looking forward to the trip with growing anticipation over the last few days. She'd already packed the essentials for a Japanese onsen trip into a small pack... and then re-evaluated the contents five times in the last twenty four hours. It really had been a long time since Bridget had taken any sort of full vacation.

So it was five full minutes after the sun had fully set before Bridget seemingly appeared in front of the building and drifted through the front door without any sign of the super-speed she'd arrived with. She'd arrived in her own form of 'casual' of course, though the tunic, circle skirt, and the sandals she naturally started unlacing just inside and to the side of the doorway were all various shades of black and dark gray. Maybe someday she would remember to shop in colors... At least she'd left her hair free to fall wherever it wished, which was usually down her back nearly to her knees. Free of her footwear, Bridget lifted her head in a slightly wry smile aimed at Satsuki across the lobby. "I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long..."

She tilted her head, third eye swaying a little bit. The arteriesover her left shoulder twisted themselves into a more complete heart. "Blue is a nice color. But I like red. And indigo. They remind me of home."

She reached up and removed her hat, drifting forward and placing it without permission upon Inumuta's head, the glow of her eyes a little less apparent without the additional shade. Her hair was also that light mint green all the way to the roots. She had a bald spot above her left temple, sporting a terrible-looking scar.

"Not true. Not true. Even a silly story can be loved and a really amazing story be ignored. Its not about the story its about who is telling it and who is listening."

If anyone could find a good fit for Satsuki, it was Nonon. Despite acting like it had was no big deal, she had actually spent more then a few hours making sure everything was perfect, that it would accentuate Satsuki's strong features without being too revealing. She was the guardian of Nova City, and her lifelong friend. She wasn't about to parade her around in embarrassing clothing. There were a lot of reasons she wouldn't want to do that.

As for the petite musician herself, she was dressed casually as well, a floppy black beret (skull free this time!) covering her pink hair, with a short sleeved shirt with white polka dots on it. A skirt that, while short, was more then enough to keep her modest covered her lower body. Pink socks and a pair of black shoes completed the look. It was not the sort of outfit she would have picked for Satsuki. For her, however, it was fine. She almost looked like someone that wouldn't screech at you if you annoyed her.

She is, naturally, at Satsuki's side, admiring her handiwork. It really did look good on her. Graceful without being too imposing. A fine choice. She'd pat herself on the back if it wouldn't be so self-centered. Her eyes scan over all those present, recognizing most though it was her first time getting a chance to meet Satori. No doubt Koishi would have mentioned it, but she was the one that had picked out the swimwear for the two sisters. Of course she would not have mentioned her by name. Its possible she doesn't even know Nonon's real name.

She is keeping surprisingly quiet, perhaps not wanting to interrupt other people. She's currently in a good mood, she's actually thinking about that sort of thing.

Koishi hadn't struck Inumuta as being a combatant. With her whimical nature, he figured that she had served some other purpose in Satsuki's grand plan. But, the viscious looking scar that was previously hidden was enough of a distraction for him to not balk when she dropped the hat upon his head. Tipping it up with a finger, he instead regarded her with a newfound curiosity.

"That does make sense, I suppose. But, how does one tell when the proper conditions are met?"

The hat was oddly shaped. A little lopsided on the left side, the fabric a bit thicker. Clearly it had been designed to protect the scar as much as shield the little satori from the sun. The scar was quite old though and she probably hadn't gotten it in Satsuki's service.

"Well..." She looked thoughtful. "I guess no one knows until you try. If you really want me to try telling stories I will tell them as best I can. Even if Sis is way better at it." A smile. "Also sis remembers more about the past. I had to give up memories to bring our home back so sis would have a place to stay away from all the psychic noise. Mother said 'take care of each other' so I gave up memories of her before I left home because mother would understand why I did it."

She clapped her hands once, smiling hugely. She was surprisingly calm. At least compared to what Inumuta had seen before. "What do you want to know?"

Between Koishi's arrival and Satori's introduction!

[personal profile] satori_komeiji 2015-03-28 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Amidst Koishi's chattering, Satori looked a little exasperated. Of course, it's less about her sister being annoying and more about her being /extremely/ hard to handle once excited and hyped up about things.

"Other than having to remind Koishi not to stray down the odd pathway or two on the way, it's been...agreeable." She squinted a bit, due to being unused to sunlight. Or a large degree of light in general, rubbing her temples a moment. Reading more than a few minds at once gave her a bit of a headache, but that wasn't going to stop her from enjoying this time and looking after her excitable sister. Koishi had said something about that friend of Satsuki's as well, but the poor youkai looked a bit too distracted to speak at great length. Having such a perky Koiball to manage is hard work!

Apologetically, she muttered to Satsuki and Nonon... "Give both of us a moment to get out bearings, and we'll meet up with you." Very quietly, she whispered to her sister... "We really must get to our room, there will be time enough to enjoy yourself, later."

And so, Satori guided Koishi off with her. Partly to calm her down and partly to keep her from getting into mischief. As for the rest of the afternoon? Well, that depends if Koishi behaves herself.

Big Sister is Watching You. ~( o)~

[personal profile] satori_komeiji 2015-03-28 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Satori had been watching from a distance the last few minutes, finding enough time to take in the sights while making sure Koishi didn't do something ridiculous. Like jump in the tank or try to steal the fish. She had a bit more faith in her sister to /avoid/ these things, but it wasn't completely a foreign possibility!

The elder sister found it odd that Koishi tended to get on with everyone, despite her own fear of strangers and strange minds. She watched Koishi for most of the time and didn't speak very often, but she slowly siphoned thoughts from the logical fellow. Inumuta's mind felt calculating, much like her own, oddly surprised that she felt very little 'background noise' from a very basic look at his undifferentiated surface thoughts. Cold, blue and sharp-edged. Yes, that was an interesting way to put it.

Koishi could always put those strange little quirks of individuals in a much simpler way than she could. Perhaps it was simply how her mind processed the minds of others?

And while she felt a pang of pain at remembering how Koishi gave up her memories...and slight embarrassment at being outed about her writing, keeping all her eyes on her sister was good enough.

She stepped over to see how her sister was getting along, of course. Her third eye looked at Koishi and Inumuta, while her face seemed remarkably calm. She warned... "Pardon the interruption, but my sister is, at once, simple /and/ difficult to follow, sometimes. Let me know if I must...interpret for you."

Re: Saturday 1/2 Fishing!

[personal profile] satori_komeiji 2015-03-28 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh Satori, the things you put up with...

For this day, she's dressed in somewhat of a more casual outfit: she took care not to bother people with her artery-tentacles, hiding the ones on her arms under a medium-length pair of sleeves, and a relatively light but modest skirt. She'd made slight modifications on the first day to accommodate the arteries, of course, though they did get a bit snarled and caught in her clothes at first. She'd probably have to change into her bathing suit later in the afternoon...

Satori knew that Koishi had an unusual liking for marine animals. More so than her own, of course, the elder sister being a bit more fond of land-creatures. But, as stated above, a significant amount of her time was spent keeping Koishi calm for most of the trip, a feat that's, by and large, impossible.

It was easy enough on the way up, but Satori utterly failed once they arrived, watching her sister zoom off in to the lake in excitement!

"Koishi! We haven't even-..."

The elder mind-reader's protests were most likely lost, by now. Shaking her head silently, she headed off in search of her sister, taking a fishing rod with her...

Once she'd caught up, she called out to her wayward sister... "You headed off without listening, Koishi. And you're scaring the fish by snatching them, like that..." Her tone was calm and advisory, but a way that Koishi would call...thorny or some other odd qualifier.

Meanwhile, it's Maka that feels like she sticks out the most. Between the yokai and the people very much older than her, there's Maka dressed in her usual schoolgirl attire of a plum-colored sweater and black skirt. She left behind her usual boots for sneakers of a similar color to the sweater and thigh-highs, at least, those tend to be less than casual and more for tromping around killing things. Even less casual than that is her oblong bundle attached to her hip, which actually carries her weapon, but Satsuki never said she couldn't bring it.

She hasn't said much the whole trip over besides "hello, I'm Maka" and "I made these cookies for you"...she should say something as Satori bustles off with Koishi, but all she can do is look between Nonon and Satsuki and back again, as if waiting for the explanation of what the hell that was.

Maka has to remind herself repeatedly as she was shopping that it's not common to be vegetarian, she does not need to prepare a vegetarian option for anyone and the idea being in her head is stupid. As for what she has planned, well, fortunately for her current company she has Japanese ancestry and wants to avoid going overly American on them. Given that it's still cold as hell, it seems like the perfect time to prepare a hot pot for the large group with the works (including fish even if the smell of it makes her sick). It takes her a while, partly because of preparation and partly due to her perfectionism, but it's all spread out at dinner time with a handy pot of rice to go along with it.

"Well...I practiced making this before coming on the trip, but I haven't actually had hot pot since I lived with my mom, so I hope you all enjoy."
