[Closed/Log] [Backdated] Starlight, Starbright...

WHO?: Koishi and Satori
WHERE?: The bay, Nova City
WHEN?: Backdated to April, 11th
WHAT?: Collecting empty stars.
WARNINGS?: None this time (thankfully)

It was late. The sun had long since set though the artificial lights of Nova City showed that the city was still very much awake. The satori sisters had discussed the stars and what they did at great length and came to a decision to collect some of them. With Koishi's memory sealed safely away in glass, the two had set out intent on collecting as many as they could.

The intention was to collect empty stars. Ones that did not have memories. Something capable of storing thoughts, emotions, and memories was of great value to a satori youkai. Unfortunately if Koishi's memories had been implanted into a star it was likely that there were other memories floating around too. Hopefully there would be a way to discern empty stars from full ones, but they would cross that bridge when they came to it. And so, the two set a pair of large bags down next to the bay, taking out bowls and bottles and magic seals as they prepared to get to work.

Koishi still seemed very jittery, eyes flicking from one star to another. Still, she was much quicker than her older sister, drifting out over the glass-like surface. A pause. "... Sis don't look at me like that. I'll be careful, okay?" And indeed she was, touching the water and using her bowl to corner one and scoop it up, bringing it to the edge of the bay before grabbing another bowl to retrieve more.

The elder sister's gaze softened a little. While she was somewhat fearful that either of them would fall straight into someone else's memory, the satori youkai kept an eye out for any of the 'full' looking ones. While these were objects or concepts that didn't have consciousness, her third eye could detect whispers of memory within the filled or semi-filled stars, urging Koishi towards the emptier ones.

These were relatively curious things. Abstract concepts like thought and memory were something she could easily understand, being easily able to coax them out of others. But seeing them in physical form always made he feel...wrong. The thought that personal memory could be packaged into these glowing orbs of presumably magical power made her more than a little paranoid that some of her memories had been scattered about during the confusion.

"Don't touch that next one." She scooped up a slightly brighter star in a bowl of her own and moved it aside, letting it float out into the water. She didn't want to take chances with it. She continued to catch a couple empty ones and store them properly. "If these contain people's memories...I must wonder what the empty ones do. Do you think they're like jars, Koishi? For memories?"

Satori had been relatively quiet when she and Koishi began this endeavour, though she'd been worried when it came to the subject of Koishi's own star, mainly due to the fact that such a personal and painful memory prompted many uncomfortable topics she'd rather avoid remembering. "I think that, with abilities like ours...we might be able to make good use of these..." she mused, making sure to carefully bottle and seal the ones she'd collected before heading out for more.
