[Raye's standing on the street, her head turned to stare hard into the distance. For a long time she doesn't move, frozen still as she tries to confirm the awful vibes she's feeling. Where are they coming from? The feeling seems to be swirling and shifting, she can't get a lock on it. But coupled with the nightmare she had last night... She can't ignore this. She pulls her radio from her pocket and switches it on.]

Guys, something nasty is heading our way. I don't know what it is, and I can't say when it's going to strike, other than "soon."

So these visions you get, they're.. really unclear I guess. It must get frustrating.

I'm used to visions being hard to make out. But then all these guys start demanding more information when I already said all I know, and THAT makes me mad!

[Lucy's being pretty nice, though, so she's not the target of Raye's sharp tongue.]

I'm sure it's not their intention to upset you - maybe they just don't understand how visions work, and thought you might have ..forgotten to mention some things. [ A shake of her head. ] Although with a situation as serious as this, it wouldn't make sense for you to do that.

[She huffs another sigh and plants a hand on her hip.]

Well, they'll get used to it eventually. I just hope this doesn't become a frequent thing.

"Thanks for the heads up, babes, but 'nasty' is kinda vague. I get called that a lot, after all," Betelgeuse mused. "Is this gonna be like the zombie invasion? That was kinda fun, but I'll pass on any more of that pied piper shit."

[Raye's brow twitches, her irritation rising.]

If I knew more, don't you think I would have said it already?! It's not my fault it's vague, at least you're getting something!

"Okay, SORRY!" Betelgeuse snapped back, instinctively pulling back a bit from his video screen. He frowned. "How should I know what you would and wouldn't do, anyways? Isn't like we've met before, babes!"

[She shouts right back. She hasn't forgotten that he scared the crap out of her at that New Year's party, so Raye isn't holding back. Brat.]

And quit calling me 'babes'!

"What? What did I assume?" he asked, pulling out a cigarette and lighting up. "What do you want to be called, then?"

[He's smoking now? Good thing he's not anywhere near her, gross.]

"Ooo, very ironic, not killing the dead guy. Raye, huh? Not of sunshine, that's for sure. You're kinda grumpy. Cute, but grumpy," Betelgeuse told her grinning.

If he noticed any reaction to his cigarette, he ignored it, puffing away.

[So stahp grinning at her like that, gawsh.]

"Okay, I will!" Betelgeuse promised, snickering. He aimed his videophone, so she could see that he was floating, with his toes pointed down and just brushing the ground. "How does that suit ya, Raye babe?"

"Huh. Ya try to cooperate with some people," Betelgeuse mused, tucking his phone back into his pocket.

I have not noticed any severe change in weather patterns. [This is usually what humans mean by something nasty coming, yes?]

[She turns her head to look into the distance again, frowning. That bothers her too.]

Most of my visions arrive after hours of meditation in front of the Sacred Fire. This is new.

Just blackness. It was evil, and it felt strangely empty at the same time.

I can feel it now. It's unstable, and I can't get a fix on it, but it's definitely close.

[Mab lifts her head from the screen and for a moment she is silent as though she is trying to sense whatever Rae senses. If there is something coming though, she can only currently feel a soft prickling of power. She is too unaccustomed to this place to be able to determine a source or intent behind it. Much less distinguish any differences with all the people of power surrounding them.]

[She didn't feel any hatred, but the energies were definitely negative and foul in nature.]

[She is silent for a moment just letting the sparkings of whatever is coming wash through her before she finally returns her attention to Raye. If she generally needs to meditate to see things the event is likely to be large in comparison to the space in reality and time that it will take up.]
