two consciousnesses.

[ action one ]

[ Ever since arriving here in Genessia, there was something nagging at the back of Sertoria's mind. Even though the probability of it is slim to none, she wanted to check if this Earth that she's on is fated to hold the Game here. And so, by the pond, she's sat on the grass in her normal clothes, legs crossed as she's deep in a trance. Around her form, there's what appear to be multiple galaxies, nebulae, planets, stars -- the works. Every so often, the planets will flicker in and out to show more systems out there than one initially thought.

Later on, it'll appear that mentally, Sertoria's not really there. Another thing that she wants to check is if the Otherworld or the In-Between exist in some fashion. Essentially, she's opened her consciousness open to anyone who wishes to venture in to it since the Otherworld, to her, is The Place Where All Thoughts Go. She hoped it exist in some fashion, but she understood if it didn't.

Allow me to pose you a question, Genessia: Do you believe that humankind has the capability to exist forever? What would you do with an immortal life, if it was possible?

[ Hopefully this didn't go over as badly as the last time did... ]

It may be weird to say, considering I've died twice, but... no, I really don't think anyone can be truly immortal, or should be.

Dying is never fun, believe me, but... it serves a purpose, and while it may not be a physical sort of immortality, we do live on in others after passing.
kienzankriller: (Heh yeah about that...)

It's sort of a... unique process. There are a set of gems in my world that can grant any wish. Both times I was brought back, I wasn't the only one. They were wishes that revived hundreds - if not thousands - of people who were murdered by evil people.

The first time, King Piccolo had laid waste to the world, and was threatening to systematically wipe out humanity. The second time, my friends were restoring the lives of an innocent people caught up in a power bid by a madman trying to claim immortality and rule the universe.

...I was more of a technicality of wording in those wishes. But yeah, considering the kinds of people who have tried to use those gems for their own immortality, I'd rather be mortal than trade my humanity to be... that.

[He actually chuckles a bit.]

I appreciate the sentiment but... my world is kind of... used to that sort of thing. It's always been... I don't know if there's really a word for it. Brutal maybe? We have dinosaurs and monster tribes walking around, heck my best friend survived for years hunting Tyrannosaurus with his bare hands.

...granted, Goku is kind of a special case, but he's also the person that's put everything right. Beat King Piccolo, and Frieza... his son beat Cell, but that's a whole story in and of itself.

If nothing else this has shown me that death isn't... all that scary. At least for me.
kienzankriller: (Not so sure...)

Heh, nah, if being sentimental is foolish, I'm one of the biggest fools that ever existed. Nothing wrong with that.

[He makes a slight noise, considering something.]

More than that... my friends and I... we have a rapport with the Kais who govern the universe. Most of them have already trained with King Kai, and when we die, we keep our physical form and are allowed to sort of keep on living like that.

...not everyone is that lucky. Dying isn't what scares me anymore. ...It's being separated from my wife.

That's quite alright. I don't mind really. I will admit though, I was lucky in that regard. My wife showed up here a short time after I did. Probably best for the world too.

She's an amazing woman and I love her more than anything in the world... but you do not want to be on her bad side. She could give my friend Goku a run for his money in a fight, and considering Goku beat an alien that could literally blow up planets by flexing a single finger... I'd say that's pretty impressive.

That's the spirit!

She really is, and yeah, we've been pretty lucky to have people stepping up to defend the world when it seems like we're in everyone's sights.

I'm Krillin. Nice to meet you!

Koishi... Didn't know what was going on! She stopped to stare for only a moment before scampering over to Sertoria, eyes alight with excitement. There were beautiful things floating around her. She wanted one! Almost instantly she made a grab for the various celestial bodies floating around her, moving forward, tripping and toppling into the woman's side, sending them both tumbling down onto the grass.

Koishi picked herself up, shaking her head and readjusting her hat. "Ohh! I'm sorry Miss. I just wanted one of the shiny things. They were floating all around! I wanted to catch one!"

Actually... Had she sensed Koishi's approach? Or had she just heard it?

The girl had green hair and large eyes that glowed with an inner light. A third eye, quite literally, bobbed in front of her chest at about heart level. It was a deep blue in color and closed. It was attached by two fleshy cords, extending from either side winding loosely around her body, and attaching at her ankles. They, like the eye, seemed to float of their own accord.

"I didn't mean to fall on you. Sometimes I don't notice things because my head is all around and slantways since it broke awhile ago." There was something extremely unusual about her...

Koishi's eyes brightened as she was offered the nebula, the cord above her left shoulder twisting into a heart-shape. "Really!? Thank you Miss!"

She reached out eagerly to accept it. "Wow! This is amazing Miss! Thank you so much!" When Koishi reached forward, the closeness clarifying the odd sensation. The girl was blank. Psychically non-existent. Her mind could not be read, her presence could not be sensed... It was like she didn't exist. And yet here she was!

This strange void-like presence wasn't really painful for other psychics to be around, but it certainly was uncomfortable.

I've heard of a few humans like that.
tengugrandshogi: (I take my job very seriously)

I don't know them personally, but it seems there are two of them, one from the moon and one from Earth. They mainly spend a lot of time killing each other.

Hmm...Humans are kinda like...well I don't want to be rude, but kinda like cockroaches. Sure each one is kinda easy to kill, but trying to get all of them is like trying to count out how many grains of rice are in a barrel of rice. Eventually you just get tired of trying.

As for immortality....well Youkai are pretty much really long-lived for the most part, so I feel that there's not really much of a difference? I'm still pretty young for all the years I've lived and the only two I know who would live further would be Mokou and Kaguya. One's a human, the other's a lunarian, and they're both feuding with each other.

Gets kinda messy when they go to crazy lengths for killing each other just to come back and get revenge.

That's very true. It's why so many of us Youkai like to interact with humans a lot. They develop and adapt very well to their surroundings so it's neat to see what they come up with.

[Making meals of the odd few is just a...well it's not a fringe benefit considering the need for mikos. At least Aya's not doing it often.]

Huh...you know of us Youkai? Talked to one of the others who had appeared before us then?

Truthfully? No person can live forever, unless they have unfinished business, but even then it might not be in a physical body that they do. However... [He pauses for a moment, he knows what the truth was, but it still stung to think about it.]

All people need to move on, no human is truly immortal.

I hope the someone that you know is able to as well. But I guess they would need to finish there unfinished business first.

Everyone's opinion is also different, I guess that does have an interesting factor to it. I however don't really think of things like that. We all die eventually, that is how life is after all.

I don't think we are capable of living forever. That would be rather sad to live forever and watch those you love die around you.

That's right, but even then I wouldn't want to. We are meant to live and die. That is what being human is. Sure, some people live longer than others and some do die way before there time, but that's just life and it's fun to live it that way.

Immortality is... An interesting prospect.

[Pidonus hasn't really thought about this, in spite of being partially immortal herself - at least, she's unaging.]

As for what one would do with such a thing... That is a good question indeed.

I doubt it. We all have to die at some point right? It's a sad thing, but I don't know what I'd do with an immortal life.
