Fifth time point

Koschei sat on the steps to the planetarium. The sun was just beginning to set and his shift was now over. With his head bent to his knees and his arms wrapped around his shins, Koschei couldn't see the sun setting. It didn't matter. He wasn't paying attention to anything outside his own mind. He'd barely made it out of work, before giving in to what he perceived as his greatest weakness. Koschei tried to keep the drums secret, but, in most ways, he was still a boy. Now, he was a boy in pain.

It was not a good day. dum dum dum dum

It was a day for the drums. dum dum dum dum

The never-ending drum beat was loud today. dum dum dum dum

Today, the drums almost seemed to speaking. DUM DUM DUM DUM

Koschei hated days like today. He feared the message of the drums. They always seemed to speak of anger, pain, and even violence. Koschei hated the persistence of the drums, even at their most quiet. At their most quiet, they weren't peaceful, but ominous, whispering of tragedies to come. Koschei tried not to listen.

Koschei knew, if he listened too closely, he might go mad...or worse.

She looked up at the building, her delicate fingers dancing along her lips as she thought. She didn't want to interrupt him but she was curious about the tall building. Her gaze shifts down towards the boy with a gentle smile.

"I'm Sakura."

Her smile was bright and cheerful as if it could spread happiness on it's own.

"Is it alright if I ask you about this building? I mean if not I can go."

"I'm Koschei," he said, reluctantly. He hoped the questions were intelligent. A good conversation might help distract him from the drums. "What would you like to know?"

"That's a really great name." She smiled brightly.

Sakura couldn't promise that they would be intelligent questions. Her world was very different than this one and she didn't remember all of it. Her eyes were on the building, her fingers lightly playing with the hem of her sleeve. Her eyes were filled with a mixture of wonder and confusion. There were so many things she didn't understand fully.

Her gaze shifted back down to the boy and she smiled brightly. "I wasn't sure what was here or what the building was used for." She pulled out a small piece of paper showing it to Koschei. "I've been trying to make notes on my map, where everything is. I keep getting lost though."

"Thank you," Koschei said. He took a deep breath, trying and failing to push the drums away. "This place is a planetarium. Um. Lost how? You can't find your way back?"

Koschei looked at the paper. Fortunately the drums didn't mess with his vision or equilibrium much.

"Um..no. I've been trying to find my way around since I woke up here." Sakura felt bad that she had kept relying on Fai for his help. She glanced up at the building with a wide smile.

"So you can see the stars here."

Sakura loved the sky. She looked back at Koschei with a wide smile. "I think that's amazing!"

Koschei's grin was brittle at best. He rubbed at his temples, hoping to release some of the pressure in his head.

"Where are you trying to go?" Koschei asked.

He didn't answer about the planetarium. It didn't seem very amazing to him, but he supposed it would to anyone not bred and raised steeped in the sciences.

Her smile was bright though she noticed that his looked strained. "No where specific. I was hoping to find my way around."

Sakura took a step closer to Koschei inspecting him for a moment with a worried gaze.

"Are you alright?"

Koschei grimaced, shrugging.

"My head hurts. How can you be lost, if there's no particular place you want to be?"

"Ah, well.. it's because I don't know where I am." Sakura had to resist the urge to reach out towards Koschei.

"I'm sorry that your head hurts. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"You're at the planetarium in Nova City," Koschei told her. "I doubt it. Are you a healer?"

When it came down to it Sakura was pretty useless. Her father had once told her that her smile could heal and warm the heart but that did nothing if someone was hurt. She slowly shook her head indicating no.

"We can go to the doctor." She remembered seeing a hospital on the map and they were sure to be able to help.

"No, thank you," Koschei said, a bit abruptly, before softening his answer. "It's just a headache. I'll be fine. Why don't you distract me instead? How did you come to be wandering around?"

"Oh." Her smile brightened at his question. "I only just arrived. I found a friend who opened a shop in Genessia but I wanted to take a look around. I'm able to read the map but it doesn't have everything on it."

At least not from what she could see.

"I wonder what new things this world has."

"Oh. I haven't been here very long. Only some months," Koschei told her, one hand reaching up to rub at his temple again. "Well it's certainly different from my world. This world has magic and dragons. I didn't believe in those before I came here."

"Dragons?" Sakura's tone was surprised but also worried about hearing that. She hoped they weren't dangerous dragons.

"I've been traveling through worlds with my friends but I've never seen a Dragon. What's it like?"

"I haven't seen one either, personally. I spend most of my time in Genessia or Nova City. The dragons were in Fayren."

"We should go and see!" Assuming it wasn't dangerous because she didn't think Fai would let her do anything dangerous unless she managed to sneak out from his watchful gaze. Either way it would be interesting and it was something that she wanted to explore if she could.

"Would you want to come with me?"

Koschei sighed, considering the matter. He really didn't want company, but he knew that was partly an effect of the drums. Koschei at this time still fought the drums, whenever he could. Also, he'd asked her to distract him and surely visiting Fayren would do that better than mere talk. He nodded reluctantly.

"Very well. It might prove interesting."

Sakura smiled brightly. “Do you know the way?” She was still a little turned around and she would depend on Koschei to lead.

It was a good idea, something to go see and she hoped that it would cheer him up too. Sakura has always had a talent for reading people and she wanted to do what she could to make him smile.

"Yes. It's to the south of Genessia City. I can lead us there," Koschei admitted.

Koschei forced himself to his feet, smiling weakly.

She stayed close to his side following hims as he lead the way. She looked over at him from time to time and then down at the ground as it moved below her feet.

"How long have you been here?" It looked like he was used to this place but Sakura didn't want to just assume.

"Not very long. Less than a year. You?" Koschei asked in return.

He studied the streets and people as they walked, memorizing and learning more about his surroundings.

"A week or so."

She walked with a smile swinging her arms back and forth as they moved through the city. She looked like she was having a good day. Sakura was starting to feel weak but she ignored it and kept smiling.

"It's nice here." So far anyway.

"For a primitive world, it's pleasant enough," Koschei conceded.

His standards for non-primitive were extremely high.

"Primitive?"

Sakura had been to a lot of worlds and they were all different in some ways. She didn't really know how to compare them since every situation was different. It didn't seem right too.
