Action/Closed to Natsu - Sleeping Beauty Ariiiiiiiiiises!

WHO: Natsu and Lucy
WHAT: Lucy wakes up~! YAY!
WHEN: Three days after the event ends (Forward dated)
WHERE: The Inn

Shortly after passing out at the Bay, and after Natsu brought her back to the inn, Lucy remained in a deep, coma-like sleep for a full three days. On that third day, she finally started to show signs of waking up, though it felt harder than it was. Once she finally managed to open her eyes, it took her a minute to convince herself not to close them again.

Then her memories caught up with her, of her conversation with the spirit, being in the Bay calling out for volunteers (yuck), and then... ohh. Slowly her hand twitched as she started to piece together her memory of what happened before she collapsed. Oof though; She felt like she slept for weeks! "Natsu...?" Naturally her partner is the first thing she should think about. That's normal right? And knowing him he -wouldn't- be all that far away either. Normally. Unless something had happened.

"Y-yeah." No pressure or anything. She stole a few quick glances at him, quietly impressed by how seriously he was taken it - but they were kids. Natsu did have a soft side when it came to children. She let go of his arm, reaching up to knock on the door. "I hope they're home."

After a few seconds waiting, the first thing heard would be barking, and then the sound of paws hitting the door, as a large dog was jumping up at it excitedly. Who's out theeeeere. A few seconds later, a familiar, younger voice is audible. "Come on Herb, move..! I wanna see who it is..!" Followed by the door swinging open a little, Nev peering out.

And gasp, how his face lights up. "Dad! Mom--" a pause and that light fades again. "I mean... hi ..." Oh dear, he's going to cry at the reminder that not-parents don't remember him and his sister.

IT was something he didn't really think about too much. IT was just coming to him naturally whenever he had time to spend with little kids, Asuka being the best opportunity to demonstrate that side of him.

Natsu couldn't help but chuckle a little hearing the dog pawing at the door. Seemed the kids weren't the only ones eager to see the two of them. That being said when he heard Nev say those two words before that joy getting dimmed, he couldn't help the sense of guilt he felt stabbing into his heart.

"Hey you two, are you holding down the fort today on your own or something?"

Natsu wasn't the only one feeling those guilty stabs in her soul. The look on Neveren's face just made her want to scoop him up and hug him tightly. Neveren for his part, looked like he wanted to glomp onto either of the 'parents', though he held himself back. He did let the door open a bit more, the dog bounding out to sniff at the pair curiously, and then enthusiastically as he recognized the scents.

Neveren nodded, scuffing his foot on the floor. "Regina went to get dinner, an Justyne's upstairs reading." He paused, glancing up hopefully. "Y'wanna come in?"

Lucy flashed the boy a 110-wat smile as she knelt, putting a hand on his head, "Well, that's why we're here. We want to make up to being gone all that time, so Natsu and I thought we'd come visit and spend some time with you two." And the dog, of course.

This makes Nev's face light up again, and he glanced between the pair, his hopeful gaze settling on Natsu, "Really?"

Natsu leaned over to scratch the doggie behind its ears as it sniffed them. He had no doubt the scents would get recognized since he was the same really. That being said when Nev looked to him for an answer, Natsu nodded with his big big grin on his face.

"You betcha. Lucy wouldn't lie about this sorta thing you know."

And just like that Nev is beaming brighter than before. In fact, he forgets everything else, turning on his heel and bolting for the stairs, hollering his sister's name like he just won the biggest and best prize ever. Lucy couldn't help but giggle, glancing at Natsu. "Come on, let's follow him before -"

*THUMP* "OW! I'm okay..! JUSTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYNE~!"

That. But Nev's excitement was entirely too infectuous, and the dog was torn between bounding around the two familiar faces, and chasing after his little master. Lucy stepped into the house, to close the door behind herself and her partner, "He's going to explode with all that excitement," she chuckled.

Nev's excited chatter soon turns into conspiratorial chattering with his sister. Oh they have PLANZ. Most of it is shenanigans. They may be planning on 'parent trapping' the pair. No, they definitely are. But Nev soon comes barrelling down the stairs again to launch off of the stairs at his 'dad' with his sister trailing quickly after him. Heads up!

Natsu let out a small laugh of his own seeing Nev run off and even trip in his burst of joy. He was quite open with his feeling and that only added to the affection Natsu could feel growing within him just watching him dash off to get his sister.

"That's fine. That's how kids should be. Full of life and energy and all smiles." Natsu said as he started walking deeper into the house getting a good read and whiff of the area and burning it in his memory for good this time.

"Yeah. Let's make sure it stays that way." Lucy grinned, leaning down to ruffle the dog behind the ears before the kids made their reappearance. Speaking of --

ZOOM and Nev is promptly attaching to Natsu's arm. Or will if allowed. "I bet you're stronger than ever now right, D-- Natsu?" He gushed eagerly.

Justyne, ever the more serious of the pair, is more reserved but from the way she was practically vibrating in place, it was hard to say she wasn't excited. She made a beeling for Lucy, glomping the other girl's waist. "We thought you weren't going to come back. It's been days," She pouted.

Lucy felt a brief pang of guilt again, "I'm sorry - we meant to come back sooner, honest. But things happened --" And she collapsed for three days, but she wasn't going to mention that. "No matter. We're going to make it up to you two now."

"That's the plan." Natsu nodded just in time to hear the fast pattering of feet heading their way. And Sure enough Nev grabbed onto him first with Justyne going straight for Lucy. Yep he could see how that fit nicely.

"Hahaha you can tell can ya? Well you're definitely right about that. I'll have to show you sometime. When we don't have to worry about wrecking the house that is." Natsu answered with a grin while he put his hand on top of Nev's head and ruffled his hair happily.

Lucy glanced at Natsu ruffling Nev's head, her expression softening further. What was it about watching him interacting with kids that just... she shook her head a little, trying not to think about it. "So today's all for you two. What do you want to do?"

Justyne and Nev looked thoughtful for a moment. "Catch the Dragon!" Nev suddenly crowed, grinning wider when Lucy only looked confused.

Justyne giggled at the confusion on the mage's face. "Yeah, let's play that!" Oh, she should explain though. "Natsu can be the dragon, and we gotta capture him so he doesn't eat our sheep! ... ... Herb's the sheep." She added, pointing over at the dog who was currently yawning, oblivious to his role in the game.

"Catch the dragon huh? I like that name. So I just have to catch Herb to win? " Poor dog had no idea what he was in for. Well Natsu would do his best to win so the kids were oping to have to resort to their past knowledge to capture him. Well either way Natsu was sure it would be crazy amounts of fun.

Both kids nodded eagerly, "An' we have to catch you to stop you from catchin' Herb." Nev paused. "Um. One'a us has gotta be the sheepherder. Or dogsheepherder."

Justyne and Nev looked thoughtful, then decided to play rock-scissors-paper for it. Justyne won, grinning gleefully. This meant Nev and Lucy had to try to stop the dragon. Easier said than done. Nev scampered upstairs briefly, returning with a short cloak. "Here Da-- Natsu, these can be your wings!" He'll get to swoop around in a cloak - how silly is that? Lucy thought it was pretty silly, at least, as much as she was giggling. "We gotta go outside though, Regina'll get mad if we mess up the house again." Cough. Not that he's ever...

"Heheee the more I hear about this game the more I like it~" Natsu said and took the cloak from Nev with a big toothy grin before putting it over his shoulders. "Geh. Lucy has a point. Lets take this to the back yard! Natsu quickly proposed, getting swept up into the flow of things already.

Hooboy, Natsu was going to eat up this role. Lucy giggled, following Nev and the others out of the house and circling around to the back so the neighbors didn't give them weird looks. Although only one person was concerned about that. Still, it gave them plenty of room to run around.

Nev turned to Natsu, waving his hands. "You gotta go further away so we can get ready!" And so he can dramatically swoop in, of course. He pointed to the back of the house. "That's the 'safe' base. If Justyne and Herb can get there you can't eat them. Ma-- Lucy an' I are gonna be the guards to stop you, so you gotta stop us stopping you. An' we can rescue Herb or Justyne if they get captured. Okay?"

Lucy seemed to process these instructions well enough. Though how to stop the 'dragon' when they didn't have any fake weapons might be tricky!

Why wouldn't he eat it up? It was clear the two kids were expecting nothing less. Looking silly or making too much noise were utter trivialities for Natsu. Even so he did listen to Nev and looked around.

"So then I can only capture Justyne or Herb huh?" Natsu said giving Lucy a look that said "you're lucky the rules won't let me capture you and still win'

Lucy mentally 'eeped' at that look Natsu gave her, quickly glancing away. AHEM. Justyne eyed her not-mom for a second, and then glanced at Natsu, "Well, their job is to stop the dragon or rescue the sheep and sheepherder so ... being a dragon, you can 'eat' or capture the guards too. The game ends if Herb and I get to the safe base, or if everyone gets eaten by the dragon." The little girl offered helpfully and thusly dooming her not-mother.

Lucy was quick to add to that though, "So the goal is to get Justyne and Herb, Natsu." 'Not Nev and especially not me!' ... went unsaid. Though probably he would ignore that whether or not it was spoken anyway.

Nev patted Lucy on the arm. "Don't worry, we have the water balloons you guys got us from last time for our weapons. We have waterguns too!" Nice and safe. He turned to Natsu. "You can make your dragon home anywhere you want, since you have to take your prize somewhere." He added.

Oh Justyne was an unexpected ally even if Natsu himself wasn't aware of the true meaning of 'eating' all the players including Lucy. Natsu grinned eagerly. "A dragon doesn't stop at just his prey~" He reminded Lucy before being prompted to chose a base.

The mention of water based weapons was a rather surprising aspect but one he could certainly see the benefit of.

"My lair? Then how about the base of that tree over there~" Natsu said pointing to the tree with his thumb over his shoulder.

Fortunately, neither did the kids! And Lucy wasn't even thinking in that regard yet but that oh-so-eager grin Natsu tossed their way at his reminder still made her nervous. "R.. right..."

As Natsu picked his base, Nev and Justyne quickly conferred before nodding. "It's good. Go hide! We'll count to thirty, and then you can jump out and try to steal Herb or Justyne." He bounced on the balls of his feet happy to be able to play games with his favorite not-parents again. While Justyne covered her eyes and started to count very slowly, Neveren dragged Lucy over to the waterballoons so she could start arming herself. Tsk, too bad she couldn't summon extra help!

Natsu sat down at the base of the tree, closing his eyes as if to fit in with his slumber dragon role. That being said he could still hear every word exchanged between Lucy and Nev. A little unfair but Lucy should have known of his hearing growing even sharper than it used to be.

They couldn't help with his hearing, unless he plugged his ears - and that wouldn't even help. She didn't say anything anyway, considering they weren't saying anything that would damage the game yet. Justyne continued counting, the pitter patter of feet sounding as Nev and Lucy ran to get behind some cover to ambush 'the dragon' when he came out to feast.

Nev was small so he hunkered down partially under a bush on one side of the yard. Lucy was on the opposite end, leaning behind a tree, just barely out of sight.

Justyne finally finished her count, her hand absently scritching Herb's head. "Thirty!" She proceeded to let Herb go, the dog starting to trot a little ahead of her as she paced carefully forward. Herb, clueless pup he was, started to trot over to where Natsu was 'slumbering', to sniff at his foot. But he'll bolt the minute Natsu moves!

Natsu pretended to still sleep even after Justyne finished, all playing his role out and luring Herb ever closer. The moment the dog got closer and closer, Natsu's eyes suddenly snapped open with a strong flame filling his eye on command.

"I smell some tasty prey coming into my territory~"

Justyne filled her role just as well, letting out a shriek that almost sounded real. Herb barked again, but he stayed close to Justyne as she waved him away. "Oh no, don't eat my do-- i mean, sheep oh fearsome dragon..!!"

Nev just barely managed to keep still, but Lucy shifted eeeeeever so slightly, moving her balloon into her hand to get ready to throw.

"Hahahaha Silly herder! Your sheep is going to be my dinner!" Natsu laughed like an evil overlord dragon would before he jumped up and ran towards Justyne and Herb, roaring happily as he rushed them.

Justyne almost tripped over her own feet when she backed up, "EEK!! Run Herb!" She called.
The dog yipped, confused why he was supposed to be running from Natsu, but he was obedient anyway, loping away while Nev popped up from the bushes.

"Not so fast dragon! You're not gonna eat the sheep! You can have the shepherdess." He added.
"HEY!" Justyne protested to his amusement.
The smaller boy sent a balloon full of water flying through the air, though ...his throws were not too good as they fell short of the mark. Lucy on the other hand, started to work her way closer to the dragon's 'den' to throw a balloon when she got closer to him. "Ha! We guards will defend you and your sheep maiden! Run! Run while you can~!"

"Mwahahaha just one guard thinks he can stop me the great Fire Dragon!? Not a chance. I'll eat you and the sheep and the shepherdess for lunch!" Natsu roared and kept dashing after Herb and Justyne though not putting his all into the motion since he would easily catch up to the prey if he did.

He turned around just in time to see another balloon flying his way and quickly kicked off the ground before landing in a crouch just outside of the splash radius.

Lucy stifled her laughter at how Natsu had gotten caught up in the game so easily. Leaning out from around the tree, she grabbed another balloon, "Oh but he's -not- just *one* guard, Mr. Overconfident Dragon~!" She teased.

If they kept him distracted they could keep him from grabbing Justyne and Herb! At least that was the plan - Herb had other ideas, apparently, as he abruptly turned to barrel right into poor Nev, knocking the boy over with a squawk of surprise. "No, Herb no, bad sheep!" AUGH He's getting slobbered on, halp!

Justyne paused, bursting into giggles before she ran over to try to pull the dog off fo her little brother. Lucy, on the other hand, was watching Natsu warily. "Better keep your distance from the dog-sheep if you know what's good for you, dragon~!" She'll throw another balloon at him, don't think she won't!
