Fairy Tail Fun~

Three days since the spirits were banished back to wherever they came from; Lucy slept throughout those days, with no sign of waking. At least until today. Natsu had been at her side the entire time, it seems. After he helped her to breakfast, they went to check in on the two kids that their past ‘selves’ all but adopted, and she decided, rather than stay goofing off at home, to that they could go to the beach, and have a nice lunch cookout.

Spur of the moment maybe, but what was the harm in that? Before heading out though, she left a note on Wendy, Juvia and Levy’s doors to let them know she was awake and going to the beach. If they wanted, they should come join them!

After preparing for the trip out to the beach, Lucy and her possee sauntered on out to the beach, where she was determined to have some fun and possibly work on her tan. She’d been cooped up indoors for so long, after all! The two kids that accompanied her and Natsu were almost Wendy’s age, if a little bit younger, and with THEM was a happy, year old retriever mix who was all too happy to jump in the water and then jump out and soak everyone all over again. Joy!

"I-I'm fine!" No one got hurt, so it's all good! Wendy began to reach out to Justyne just as Nev snuck up. She pulled her arm back and swam a little backwards such that she could launch an attack on Nev without hitting Justyne. When she was in position, she brought her hands to the water and—this time using a tiny bit of her magic—launched a small wave at the boy.

To think the mermaid would be someone with so little honor! To think the dragon-shark would fall for such petty trickery! Well he wasn't going to go down alone as his hands found purchase on Lucy's sides once again and renewed his attack even from underwater.

Just as Nev was pouncing at his sister, he squawked in surprise when a small wave smacked into him - Justyne started laughing at the surprised look on her brother's face, "Serves you right! You promised you wouldn't splash. It's...what's it.. karma or something." She thinks. Regina used the word plenty of times. She giggled, turning to Wendy, "I think that's enough for me. I want to see if I can find some seashells." THough she was going to do so along the shore of the beach.

On the other hand there was a LOT of giggling and splashing going on over by Lucy and Natsu, jeez. They were worse than the kids themselves were! The renewed attack from the dragonshark had the mermaid giggling all over again, until she took a chance in wrapping her arms around him in a hug. He can't tickle her if she was holding onto him right? "Aahaaah! S.. Stop! S..STop! Ceasefire!!" Lucy squealed, giggling. Mercy?

Wendy nodded; she was done playing in the water for now. Time to go seashell hunting! "I hope we find lots of pretty ones!" she told Justyne as she made her way to the shore. That way, she'd be able to give her friends nice presents! ...Though, maybe she could try turning them into jewelry instead? It'd be a lot nicer, but she wasn't sure how to go about doing that.

...Well, she can always figure out what to do later! With that decided, Wendy began walking along the coastline, looking down for any seashells that would make good presents.

He had taught Nev so well it seemed. Sadly he never had a chance against that surprise attack from Wendy. No worries dragon-shark junior. You fought well. Leave it to not!papa Dragon-shark.

That being said, when the kids went back to the original goal of their swim his fervor in attacking Lucy died down a little though the bright grin on his face was still in full force.

"So you give up?" He asked leaning in close with a victorious smirk. Even though he was trapped in Lucy's arms. Yup he totally still felt like the winner.

Nev puts all his trust in you not!papa! Still with Wendy and Justyne both off to look for shells, Nev decided to climb out of the water himself, though his intentions were to play with the dog. And by play, this apparently meant 'try to bury in the sand'. It wasn't working out well for him; Herb would hold still only so long before getting up, shaking sand off and running away only to come barrelling back at him.

Justyne was having quite a bit of luck with finding seashells though! She even pointed out a bunch for Wendy, "When we come here with Regina, there usually aren't so many because people already took 'em," she told the other girl. "But we're first this time..!"

Lucy and Natsu on the hand, being CRUELLY ABANDONED BY THE KIDS (not), were practically in their own world. Or at least, Lucy was, with a percentage of her attention listening out for the kids, and the rest just happy to goof off with her partner. Still caught up in the euphoria of the 'attack and counterattack' she giggled, her arms tightening into a hug as she leaned forward to rest her forehead against his. What a dopey partner she had. (Pot Kettle Black!)

"Hahahaha, why should I? I'm not about to let you go, now that I've got you in my arms!" She countered with a giggle.

Give her a few seconds to process that statement.

........... *DING*

Oh god. That... that came out wrong. She meant that he's at -her- mercy. Her partner who was currently trapped in her arms. And he was really close. GACK. Quick Lucy, ABORT, ABORT, ABORT!

Wendy marveled at all the seashells Justyne had found. Of course, that isn't to say the young girl had found a fair few, too!

"It's nice being here before everyone else." She looked down at her seashells, smiling as she looked some of them over. "I can see why people would take them. They're really pretty!" A smile. "I'm hoping to make jewelry using them." Come to think of it, maybe she should make a necklace or something for Tabby—the cat she adopted—too. She was her friend, after all!

Speaking of friends, Wendy glanced over at Lucy and Natsu as they were playing in the water, then over at Nev and the dog. "It's nice seeing everyone having fun!" she said. That was the point of this trip, after all, so she's glad that's the case!

Natsu had no problem listening out for the kids. He could hear most things for almost miles around if he wanted. So naturally he could allow himself to get a little distracted with his partner. The forehead touching was a nice touch though and being hit point blank with her breathy laugh. IT was a little bit of heaven alright.

"What if I hold you too then? You won't be able to let go of me then~" Leave it to Natsu to make it much worse.

"Really? That's so neat. Can I see them when they're done?" Justyne asked curiously. She followed Wendy's glance to the others, giggling as she saw Nev and the dog playing. "Yeah, it is. I was worried because dad --ah, Natsu and Lucy didn't remember us, but it's like they never left." She chuckled. Considering Natsu and Lucy brought them to the beach so they could meet their friends and play together.

Poor Lucy was practically praying for a shark attack, on the other hand. Anything to save her from her embarrassment. Sadly, they weren't in deep enough water for something like that as this wasn't Sharknado logic. Also, only a suicidal shark would risk annoying a dragon by interrupting the fun. Lucy's smile wavered a little, nervously from being so close to him. She should just let go, even though that meant letting him 'win'. ~~Although some might say he was already a winner.~~ Utterly flustered, she pulled away a little.

"W-wha... I ... I don't think it..works that way." Well. Actually it kinda does.

Oh right, letting go. That needs to be a thing.

"Of course!" Wendy smiled. Maybe she should make something for Nev and Justyne, too. ...Though, would Nev like jewelry? Probably not. Maybe she could try making something that he would enjoy receiving.

Her smiled quickly shifted to a frown at Justyne's remark. "Ah, that's..." She wondered if the kids knew that people often lost their memories of Genessia when they returned. ...It was probably best to let "mom" and "dad" explain things to them if they hadn't already. Still, Wendy had to think of a way to finish what she had started saying.

"...I've been worried about Natsu-san and Lucy-san, too." It was completely different from what she planned to say, but it was still relevant. "A lot of things have happened to them, so I'm glad to see them smiling and enjoying themselves." Wendy glanced at the two once again. She hoped she would have more opportunities to do more jobs together with them—and with her other friends, of course—and to someday take them to the guild.

Natsu would have sent any shark that was stupid enough to come close to him and Lucy, into orbit. This was partner time while still listening out of one ear for what the kids were doing. Even so he was certainly not letting go of Lucy either.

"Oh really? Then how would you say it works then? After all it's my arms around you in the end~"

Of course they did. And Natsu and Lucy had already spoken to them about the situation, no worries. "Yeah.. Nev an' me, we noticed, Lucy acts different from the way she used to. Specially around Natsu. Do you think they got into a fight?" The way they were playing around, and as close as they were she doubted it, but... it was possible they fought and made up, maybe.

Partner time, yay! Even though one of those partners was close to having a nuclear meltdown. Natsu was certainly not making things easy for her. "Ah... um..." Oh boy. Ohboyohboy. Where did her game get so off track? She frantically tried to come up with a response to the question, failing miserably. And he was just so damn -close-, with their forehead's touching it was hard to even think about pulling away. Thank heaven the kids and Wendy were there - she might have gotten cuddly if they were alone! HORRORS. The mental reminder made her shake her head a little, avoiding his gaze for safety's sake. "Natsu... we... we should probably get out of the water..." Stay strong Lucy!

Wendy shook her head. "I don't think they fought. I think it's something more than that. Something... Something much worse than a fight." A lot could happen in a year—or even within a few days, as she's found. Given how uncomfortable both were about bringing it up (Lucy especially), she had a feeling it was pretty bad. Maybe she'd find out someday—likely from accessing the dream docks if not from their own mouths. It was something she thought about doing from day one. Her only reason for hesitating was because she wanted to take time to get settled in Genessia. Now, she was fairly settled in; the only thing she would need to do is find someone who could take care of Tabby for a week while she used the dream docks. Wendy was certain she would use them soon, especially if it meant she would be able to better understand what her friends went through.

"...Oh! A sand dollar!" The young girl bent over and picked up the round, flat skeleton, then showed it to Justyne. It would look really nice as a medallion!

They could easily get off track just from being in very close proximity to one another. That was how their partnership had always worked. That being said Lucy was so adamant to escape from his arms that Natsu made his his goal to get in the way as much as possible.

"If you say I win I might consider letting us get out of the water~"

"Something ...worse than a fight?" Justyne echoed worriedly. Oh dear. She glanced out towards the ocean where the pair were still goofing off apparently. Hopefully Wendy won't be angry that Lucy kept information from her when she does go to the dream docks. Justyne paused from collecting her shells when Wendy found the sand dollar, "Wow! I've never seen something like that before.. that looks really neat!" It really did look like a medallion.

He's pure evil. Deliberately trying to foil her plans to escape! And the ultimatum - darnit she didn't want to give him the win just like that! But thank goodness for a distraction, as she huffed! "What? How is that fair? I had you!" Yeahhh. Only not really. "And why would I agree to that? That's a really shaky ultimatum - what if I did say you won and you still didn't let me go--" She blushed faintly at that thought. Not really a bad thing in her opinion! She could try to challenge him to a rematch later. Thinking of higher stakes might be funny. Although what stakes she could pick she wasn't sure.

"Would you like to have it?" Wendy asked, holding out the sand dollar toward Justyne. She wasn't avoiding her earlier question—she planned to respond shortly. Anyway, even if the girl didn't accept the sand dollar as a present, she thought she might actually turn it into a medallion and give it to her that way.

"I don't know what happened," she said. "It might have to do with this bad group of people I heard about before arriving here." She found it unlikely Natsu and Lucy ever mentioned Tartaros to the kids. "But..." Wendy smiled. "Both Natsu-san and Lucy-san are really strong. I'm sure they'll be fine so long as they continue receiving support from each other and from those close to them."

What everyone involved didn't know was that Natsu was continuing his antics exactly to show how things weren't as bad as it might look. That and he enjoyed messing with Lucy. Okay that was mostly his reasoning but he heard every word said behind his and Lucy's back. Or metaphorically speaking their back.

"Had! But then I caught you!" Flawless Natsu logic at work!

"But, you found it - you should keep it," Justyne said, a little hesitantly. "Those bad people aren't here, are they?" Justyne asked, a bit worriedly. "I know they're really strong, I've seen it." Hero worship at work here. "Me an' Nev, Regina an' Herb, we'll do it too. Support them, I mean." Support them by secretly plotting to get them together, and making up things so they have fun when they visit, that is. MWA HA HAHA er... yeah.

As always, Natsu proves he was sneakier than he looked! Although at his flawless logic, Lucy stifled a giggle, "So what? Every mermaid escapes eventually~!" She teased, proceeding to squirm and wiggle in a futile attempt to flee from the dragonshark. Maybe she should amend that to 'almost every mermaid'. Especially if the dragons were particularly persistent. Would it really be so horrible to just admit he won? Did she -have- to be competitive?

The answers to those questions are No and Yes. Because she knew darn well how much Natsu hated it when she just 'gave' him a win. Even if she's gonna lose, she's gonna fight for her chance to squirm free!

"I-I don't think any of them are here. If any do show up, Fairy Tail will take care of them!" That was likely a lie. Unless they were sent home, one of Tartaros's Nine Demon Gates was here. Wendy had been told by Zeref the member wouldn't do anything unless he commanded her. If that were the case—and Wendy believed it was, as she hadn't seen the woman at all—then it was best not to mention it.

She smiled at Justyne's remark about supporting the two. "Natsu-san and Lucy-san will really appreciate it. They're both really fond of you and Nev-san." They were like the kids they ~~had yet to~~ never had.

"But not every mermaid has a dragon-shark trying to catch her~" Natsu answered back, shameless and amused to no end. This was just such silly fun that they all needed. Still whether on purpose or by accident, his hold slackened ever so slightly. Would Lucy manage to make use of the opening?

Probably for the best that Lucy and Natsu didn't know the demon was there. Not that they would do anything anyway, unless she started something. In which case, they'd simply have to put her down like they did the rest of the demons. Justyne looked relieved in any case, smiling again, "Okay." She glanced around, suddenly catching sight of Nev and the dog, giggling, "It looks like Nev gave up trying to bury Herb in sand - but what is that he's making? It looks like a weird turtle with a long tail." Spoilers, it's... supposed to be a dragon. Unfortunately being that Nev only had pictures from books to go on, and his artistic skills were much to be desired it...didn't really look like a dragon.

"Maybe not," Lucy giggled, "All that means is that the mermaid has to work twice as hard to avoid letting herself get caught." Aha! An opening! She grinned, raising a hand to beep his nose, "And mermaids are slippery foes." Slippery like a FOX... wait, that doesn't work. Nonetheless, she giggles, taking that opening and making a break for freedom. If she could just reach her safe base in time SURELY she'd be safe! Uh... safe base being...the..shore? No, her blanket, yeah! It wasn't that far... hm. Could dragonsharks go on land like mermaids can?

Wendy chuckled at Justyne's comment. She couldn't imagine the dog would actually be patient and let himself be buried! That aside, she was curious as to what the young boy was making.

"Maybe it's a sea monster?" Come to think of it, wasn't there supposedly one in Fayren's lake? "Maybe it's, um... 'Nessie'?" The young girl had no idea what Nessie looked like, but it was possible. Still, the best way to find out was to go and ask Nev himself! Wendy walked over to where he was and watched him for a moment. As she was about to open her mouth to inquire, however, she realized asking might hurt Nev's pride. He didn't seem like the kind who would take things to heart, but she still wanted to be careful.

"That's a really nice sand sculpture you're making, Nev-san!" Wendy bent down next to him to get a closer look at the creature. Perhaps she could find out what it was by chatting with him.

Oh dragon sharks could easily make it to land so the moment Lucy managed to slip out of his grasp he immediately gave chase while mock roaring in his pursuit, his mouth clamping after Lucy while his 'talon' hands gripped at her retreating and likely giggling back.

Justyne scratched her head, tilting to the side a little, "Maybe?" She didn't want to offend her little brother though, so she followed Wendy over to where he was. Herb bounced over in their direction, circling them once or twice before bounding off back to Nev, leaping clear over the sand sculpture rather than run around it. Nev was amused by the sight at least, watching Herb sniff around the ground until he decided to flop down and roll in the sand.

Glancing at Wendy, Nev grinned, "It's a sand dragon!" he crowed, volunteering the info quickly. "But it's not done yet. Wanna help?"

Oh the mock roaring and clamping just made the scene even more ridiculous - she couldn't help but giggle, throwing her arms up in mock terror as she fled, getting an extra burst of speed once she hit the sand, making a mad dash for her blanket. Will she make it ladies and gentleman, or will she have to make a flying leap for safety~!!

Ohhhh, a dragon? ...That could be one, perhaps—dragons came in many shapes and sizes, after all! Nev was very creative!

"I'd love to help!" Wendy said, a smile on her face. "What would you like me to do?"
