01 - Arrival [Action/Video]

[Anyone near the Bay this afternoon is likely to hear shrill shouting coming from inside. The newest arrival had an extremely bad day yesterday, and waking up somewhere other than her bed has sparked a tantrum. Those outside might catch parts of the rant as her voice gets louder. “Powers… if this is another castle… I’ve had enough!!”

Others are welcome to investigate, though it might be wise to approach with caution. Inside they will find a young red-headed girl standing in the water of the Bay. She gestures her arms wildly as she yells, seeming to be focusing her rant towards a silver laptop sitting inside the pod she woke up in.]

[After Dairine calmed down enough to read the pamphlet, the video feed switches on. Her expression is still rather cross, but she will try to be civil. After all, she knows the people watching this are probably in the same situation as herself.]

So... “Genessia,” huh? Let me guess: I won’t be able to travel further than a certain distance, certainly not off planet, and there’s no way of telling when I’ll be sent back home. I haven’t noticed anything missing, so there's no obvious arrival fee. Unless it’s a memory… And this... [She taps on the screen.] ...serves as our communication device. Well, I suppose it's a step up from a journal, but I'd still rather not go through this a second time.

[Dairine runs her fingers through her hair absentmindedly.] Ah, while I'm at this... sorry to anyone I might have worried after I arrived. I wasn't exactly pleased with the situation, so I might have made a bit of a scene.

I get most of our situation now, but if there are any details not mentioned in the usual briefings, I wouldn't mind hearing them. There's just one thing I really want to know...

Please tell me time stops back home while we’re here.

I suppose that is promising. Forgetting everything would be annoying though.

[Same with being forgotten, which Dairine has had a little too much experience with today.]

[Annoying isn't an emotion that Terra is used to just yet but she thinks she can understand that.]

That's OK. If this place is anything like Paradisa, it offers more questions than answers.

[Terra's head tilts to the side curiously.]

Paradisa?

The last pocket dimension I got stuck in. We all lived in a castle by the same name.

Oh? So this happens a lot?

This is the second time I was here.

I would hope not, but it can't be terribly uncommon. There were at least a hundred residents in the castle at a given time.

[Dairine remembers people coming and going at the castle fairly frequently, so she nods.]

Did you remember your stay here when you returned?

[greenmagick]

I did but I’ve heard that it is uncommon as well.

[She is the first that many have seen here who’s kept their memories after arriving again. She doesn’t know if it means anything specific considering how long she’s been gone.]

Huh. It was similar in the castle, though later on regaining your memories became a more common occurrence.

[Terra takes a moment to think before continuing.]

I believe that there is a place called the dream docks were you can regain memories from home... I don't know details about it.

[wizard_redfive]

[Now that is interesting. There had been times back in the castle when people would experience a similar phenomenon, but it was far more random. And also painful, as the only way to get the memories was to be knocked out.]

Do you happen to know where the dream docks would be?

[greenmagick]

[Terra shakes her head.]

No but it might be on the map.

[She hasn't looked.]

Oh. Hang on--

[Dairine's head dips out of the video footage. However, rustling and paper flipping can be heard. She reappears with the map in her hands.]

Yup! It's here in the city. Not too far away either...

[She takes note, before putting the map away. Dairine has no imminent need to see what's happening back home. Last she saw, it was rather grim, despite saving the world. However, it could be useful for later, depending on how long she is stuck here.]

[Terra nods.]

I live in another city now but I wish you luck should you choose to find it.

[She doesn't know if she really wants to peek into her future either; when the past is so dark.]

[She doesn't mention that most wizards don't believe in luck. All things happen for a reason, they think. However, Dairine thinks she could use some good luck at this rate.]

[Terra nods again and then turns off the feed. She isn't very good at goodbyes but she hopes that's enough.]
