The peaceful times have made us blind (Closed to Attack on Mansion)

Who: Any and all of the residents in Attack on Mansion
When: August 3rd
What: Levi returns from his visit to home. There are things he would like to tell the others.
Where: Attack on Mansion
Warnings: Spoilers for Shingeki no Kyojin manga, until chapter 71.

Levi made his return to the Mansion with Petra, who was waiting for him at the dream docks. Filled with thoughts from home, he called for everyone from their world to join them to talk with them. That was, of course, if they wanted to. He was prepared to have talks with one at a time or a bigger briefing - whichever would be more convenient for everyone.

He at least would like to talk with Mikasa after the new information about the past that he came to know, but that also depended if she wanted to talk about it.

Armin's at work when Levi returns, but he finds Levi as soon as he gets back to the mansion. He looks a little apprehensive - with where Levi had been, this talk had to be about the future, and that won't be an easy talk to have. Still, he salutes when he comes in - if not as energetically as he might once have.

"Levi, sir. You wanted to speak with me?"

"Relax", Levi says right as Armin comes to the room. It's not like this was an official interrogation and Levi wasn't as keen on being respectful and shit when they weren't at work - let alone in their own world.

"I wanted to ask if you were interesting in finding out about the future. If you're not, you won't have to know."

Where there's Levi, there's always this girl too. Most of the time ... well, here at least.

Waiting for him to wake up is getting her curious about the future while she sneaks on top of the man to be closer to him sometimes. Levi not waking up to anything feels weird even when she knows the reason for it. Maybe she's too used to their daily life here...

Making sure it's safe around him while he sleeps is the most important thing to do, obviously, so she spends most if not all of her time there, just waiting...

And then it finally seems like he's waking up during one of those times when she's about to sneak as close as she can get... Petra beams at him like ten thousand suns. "Welcome back, Levi!" Most amazing day to you too, darling. She missed you though he... probably missed her a lot more.

The future was filled with things that made his emotions go through a roller coaster. It was amazing how so much had happened in so little time. It's like their lives were just burning quickly with no chances of resting. He's gotten family. He's gotten friends. He has a new squad now as well, though he hasn't forgotten the ones left behind.

When Petra is the first thing Levi sees, a warm feeling of relief fills his mind. It had really been ages since he saw Petra. Living in a world without her after spending so much time being close with her here had been rough.

So here's Levi, hugging Petra after the cheerful and bright greeting.

And here she's trying to stay all cheerful and happy right before that hug comes. It's not like the hug is a bad thing at all, except when she knows she's not even alive there anymore and that he was from time, when she wasn't alive there anymore either way.

She's instantly just hugging him back, holding as tight as she can and getting way too emotional to even try not to cry right there. Not that she thinks the crying will surprise Levi at all. "I'm here and I won't ever go anywhere from here without you."

Levi sighs softly as he takes in Petra's scent. It really felt like such a long time. Too long of a time.

"I know, and I'm very grateful. For you. For this place", Levi said as he buries his head in Petra's shoulder.

She kind of wonders how long it has been for him since that day, but she's not going to ask. The hug itself is so full of emotions that it's making her heart race and it's clear from it that it's been like forever for him.

"Me too." For a lot of reasons like not having to go through that experience but getting to experience everything with Levi here. She gives him all the time he needs to just be there, realize that she is (again) still alive and breathing here while she's petting and rubbing his back before she cuddles closer. She smells fruity as usual, those being her favorite type of perfumes in this place, with a mix of honey often on it and it's there today too. "I love you."

The familiar sensations are enough to make Levi calm down and hug her more calmly and gently. She's really here. He managed to come back to her. It's the most important thing. She was alive and in his arms. He didn't need anything else.

"I love you, too", Levi replies, before back away from the hug a little to put his lips against Petra's.

Petra stays still, not even considering taking steps away from Levi or anything else like that. The wa(y)s he hugs just convince her even more, that it's been like forever for him since the last time he saw her back home. It's nooot really something she wants to think about right now, so instead she takes a deep breath in to inhale his scent while she's loving the hug.

Not the time to get emotional about Levi saying those words. She's heard them before, of course -- but you know, dearest person in the universe, all this Dream Docks time of speaking to a Levi, who doesn't answer and now all this?

Kissing is the perfect distraction to all the thinking, she was definitely thinking doing too much right now! But when Levi presses his lips on hers, the only thing in her mind is this moment. Petra kisses him gently and Levi better be prepared to be there for ~a while... but she's sure that's his plan anyway.

Hopefully no one will need the particular spot in a while, because Levi has no intentions of moving from there for a while. This was a moment he needed very much right now, so moving was out of the question. Instead he keeps Petra closer and kisses her over and over again.

Petra isn't moving anywhere else than possibly a little closer to Levi either. She keeps returning all of his kisses and she might really need this moment right now too.

Things happen when people go home, seems like at least his time there had no negative effects on their time here. Sure, dream docks is different than disappearing from this world but --- you never know what happens back home until it happens there.

One step to get closer to Levi, squeezing him a little more into the hug while they just keep going with the kisses. Sure, she's going to run out of breath long before him but no, not just yet.

It's more than likely they'll be spending quite a lot of time, just sitting there and showing affection to each other. It's probably not that unfamiliar to see lovers reunited like this and Levi wouldn't care even if someone would mind them there.

This is just a moment for the two of them after all. They would go home when they would feel like it.

Surprisingly, Mikasa was actually home by the time he came back. She was relaxing in the entrance way reading a book when she noticed Petra and Levi. "Oh, you're back," simply put, but then she realized his expression. Should she bother asking why or...?

On the way back, Levi had explained wanting to talk with the kids by himself, so when they get back, him and Petra go their separate ways. Levi walks over to Mikasa, sitting on a chair. Clearly he had something to tell Mikasa, but first he might as well say/ask a few other things.

"Do you want to learn about the future? There's not need for you to know, if you don't", Levi said with his normal, stern face. "There's one thing I want to tell you, but that's not really related to the matters in future, so whichever you choose is fine."

Okay. This wasn't something she had prepped herself for but uhh.... It may not have hurt to know... Especially if Levi was this serious about it; but not like he wasn't always serious or anything. Placing her bookmark in her book, she shut it and adjusted herself to sit up straight.

"I'm listening," she said, setting the book down. If there was something he thought she should know, than she should listen to it.

"I'll start with the matter I wanted to speak with you first", Levi said as he took a more comfortable position on the chair. This would take a while. This whole talk. There's just too much to tell her about the future... well, she might be glad to hear news about Eren, at least.

"I'm also an Ackerman."

Straight to the point.

"I... wait what?" okay, yeah, that wasn't something she expected. "But... How are you...?"

"I don't know", Levi admits, looking away from Mikasa in thought. "I only just find out that my mother was an Ackerman and that I also had an uncle... but as to how we are related, I do not know."

So.... all of this time... She did have a relative one way or another? And suddenly it all made sense.... Why of all people did it have to be him though? Not that she hasn't tried to be better about how she interacted with him besides wanting to respond with snark.

"That's..... Huh....," what a wordsmith she is.... She wanted to say something but... nothing came to mind.

Levi can understand why she'd be at loss for words. Anyone would be if they suddenly found out that they had a relative, after all years of thinking they don't.

"Apparently Ackerman's were persecuted due to being special. That's why there are so few of us in the first place."

Mikasa was quiet for a while while she was trying to take the news in.

"For being special huh...?" she asked, looking to her hands. Was that the burst in strength back then in question here? "Just... what made us so special to be persecuted to begin with...?"

"You and I both had a moment where we felt like a power 'awekened' with us and we immediately knew what to do", Levi explained, remember the conversation he had with Mikasa. "That's one thing."

"Enough to kill a bloodline for, huh?" Excuse her, she's just bitter over her parents' deaths...

"Captain..." He pauses, trying not to look nervous. Marco had come all the way over here to talk to him! It wasn't like he was scared of him, just nervous is all. He didn't want to do anything to make the other mad. They still all lived together.

"...Levi, sir. If you aren't busy, could I ask you a question?"

It was very rare for Marco to approach Levi. Mostly because neither knew one another, but Levi also had a feeling he was a bit intimidating in Marco's mind. He seemed a bit of a shy personality.

"I have a day off for a reason. Speak your mind."

More like he was just afraid of saying the wrong thing or seeming stupid in front of the other. He wants the other to think he's worthy and not useless.

"Y-You've been to the Dream Docks, right? I just wanted more information about it...sir."

So far, Marco hadn't done anything he needs to frown about which is more than some others from their crew ~~eyes Sasha~~.

"You sleep for a week and when you do, you go home. You don't remember this place, but when you come back you know new things."

Simple as that.

"...Do you still have injuries when you come back?" There's a nervousness in his voice and he pauses for a moment, thinking through another question.

"Are you able to see old friends--or even comrads?" Maybe Levi didn't like using the word friend. Maybe. He was just worried.

"That, I'm not sure of. I wasn't injured when I came back myself, even if I got injuries while I was there." Shot wounds, mostly, but that's not something he needs to say.

Levi frowns at the change in wording. "You meet everyone you left behind when you came here. Those who are alive anyway."

"Oh." He almost doesn't sound too pleased with the answer. Of course, he wouldn't be apart of that future that Levi went to. It made his chest feel tight and he frowned deeply.

"Is it worth it? Going back to see everyone, I mean."

Levi's sorry for not returning with only one arm like some others would have have. If he had he could have answered the questions with something sarcastic.

"It depends. Sometimes knowing the future hurts more than seeing everyone heals. It's a double edged, dangerous sword. You may return as a completely different person." A pause before adding. "You may lose more than you gain."

Marco's eyes widen at that mention. That's exactly what was on his mind. His own death. Levi probably knew it.

He lowered his head, looking down to avoid eye contact with the other. It wasn't like he was upset with Levi, it was just so easy to see right through Marco. He was easy to read and he knew he was.

"It was just a thought... I wanted to ask someone's opinion who's been there before first."

It wasn't very difficult to guess why Marco was asking what he was. Not when Levi had never seen him and he's said to be one of the 104 trainees. Of course he could have chose another squad, but it was still more than likely his future wasn't very long.

"Consider it long enough to actually make a decision that you won't regret."

"I..."

He didn't know how to respond to that. Was Levi there when he died too? He didn't... He didn't know. And he knew that's what he might be hinting at.

"I-I will. Thank you, sir."

It would be easier if he knew what happened with him. That way he could really warn him about the future... but it's not up to him to decide what Marco should do anyway.

"Was there anything else?"
