Action | Closed to Hubert and Pidonus
[It's a wonder that Pascal hasn't been kicked out of the diner yet, because she's been redecorating a corner of it for 20 minutes. She feels pretty ok with the waitress giving her the stink-eye though. Management's loved her ever since she upgraded their bar robot to a robot bartender complete with wheels and an AI that dispensed pseudo-therapy with its whiskey, so she can basically get away with anything.
Good thing, because Pascal's aesthetic is silly string, confetti, and party hats. She's not the type to do things halfway, and this is a momentous occasion! Her best friend in Genessia is finally going to meet her Little Bro from home! They'll get along, of course, because they're both too cool not to. Unless, you know, Hubert does that grouchy thing or Pidonus gets too protective or whatever, but eh.... it'll be fine.
She's practically vibrating with excitement as she waits by the door, and whoever arrives first is going to get a face full of very loud noisemaker. After she runs out of air, she finally steps back and takes a breath.]
Welcome! C'mon, I've got a corner booth for us over here!

Welcome! C'mon, I've got a corner booth for us over here!

Uh. Hi.
[Smooth. She's... Just going to walk over to the booth and take her seat, blinking a couple of times.]
no subject
and a bit more motivation than one might expectbecause coffee with Pascal and her friend was Coffee with Pascal][Upon seeing the mess on the floor and the 'decorations,' he grins to himself]
Well, I'm in a right place, at least.
no subject
Right on time, too! C'mon, we're over here.
[She grabs Hubert by the arm and drags him away. Once they reach the corner where Pidonus is waiting, she steps back and spreads her arms as if presenting him.]
Ta-daaaa! Pidonus, this is Hubert Oswell! He's one of my friends from back home. He's a lieutenant in the army which is pretty cool since he's not even totally grown up yet, and he's exactly as smart as he looks.
[That's a compliment, Hubert, promise. Except the part about not being grown up, but old habits die hard. Anyway, she turns her attention on Pidonus now.]
And this is Pidonus, Little Bro! She's my best friend here and she's friendly and-- [She stops just short of saying 'made of magic' because as awesome as that is, it's not something she should be spreading around. She knows Hubert is trustworthy, but Pidonus might not feel that way yet.] really fun! She's super nice too-- you wouldn't believe the stuff she's helped me with.

Good to meet you, Hubert. It's good to see more people from Pascal's home showing up.
... And not people from mine.
no subject
A pleasure to meet you, Pidonus. It is good to know that there is someone here who has been looking after Pascal. I'm certain that isn't an easy task.
[After a pause, he considers asking why she doesn't want other people from her home here, but decides it may be too rude to ask]
Permit me to correct Pascal--I am indeed an adult. Despite that, I suppose everything else is accurate.
no subject
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Sorry Pidonus, he's actually from my future so I guess he is an adult now. But he was a kid when he became a lieutenant so it still counts as extra awesome.
What's wrong with people coming from your world though? It'd be great if I could meet your friends.
[Too personal to ask? Pssh, no such thing.]
no subject
Er, as for why I don't want anyone from my world showing up... The in short is the only people I could normally call friends are fellow minions of the Dark Queen of my ilk. I spent a long time becoming as... Relatively stable as I am now.
no subject
Yes, it is quite interesting. Though, I have promised that I would not reveal anything that she would not know. I fear that would have negative repercussions should either of us be sent back.
[To Pascal]
I was grown when you met me, but I suppose that doesn't matter right now.
no subject
Oh. Ohhhhhhh. Things were starting to click now. Pidonus' feelings she shared when she was dunked in the bay, little stuff that Pidonus kinda glossed over whenever Pascal tried to ask, the way all her magic seemed kind of manipulative... yeah, all that stuff makes a bit more sense in the context of some Dark Queen's minion. Yikes.
Hubert doesn't have that context though and even Pascal knows this isn't the right place to give it, so if he's willing to let that slide then so's she.
...Mostly. Pidonus isn't going to get away without an enthusiastic bear hug.]
Man, I am so glad you got kidnapped!
[That was all that needed to be said on that. Even if she used to be an evil minion or whatever, she was still Pidonus.
After Pidonus is sufficiently squeezed, Pascal pulls away to grab one of the party hats from the center of the table. She springs up and menaces Hubert with it.]
Sit down and put this on already, Little Bro! Or uh-- if you're future Little Bro, does that make you Big Bro now?
[He seems super intent on pointing up how grown up he is, anyway.]
no subject
I'd... Meant to talk with you on that after the incident in the Bay, honestly.
And getting away was definitely for the best, yeah.
[But then, she's distracted by the sudden topic change to party hats.]
... Yeah...
no subject
[And with a farcical sigh, he relents to accepting the party hat and starts putting it on]
Actually, in my time, you were calling me "Hu." It wasn't nearly as irritating as "Little Bro," though I can't fathom why you can't simply use my name.
[Once the party hat is on, he grins]
Is this acceptable?
no subject
[Telling it like it is! Or like it sounds in her head. Whatever.
Her eyes light up when he grins.]
Awww yeah, that's perfect Li-- [Nope.] Hu! Now hold on just a sec...
[Think fast Hubert, she's going for the camera.]
Sorry for the delayed response ;;
[Pidonus just blinks. Though Hubert does sound like an older name than, well, this fellow is.
For the moment, she's going to avoid moving until Pascal's made her move, more than a bit confused by her going for the camera.]
No worries, bb!
no subject
Ok, great!
[With the photographic evidence out of the way, she tries to flag down the surly waitress.]
Can you bring us some coffee? Or... [She glances at her two friends.] Whatever else you guys want? Oh, and a slice of banana pie for me.
no subject
Er, just coffee's good for me.
[Something about Hubert leaves her a spot uneasy for the moment... Hopefully that's just a one-time thing.]
no subject
[Hubert sighs]
It seems that is all you ever eat, Pascal.
