[The lid to the pod slowly unseals...then cracks off of its hinges, kicked off by a jutting boot from within the cocoon. The lid flips through the air, crashing off of the ceiling and rebounding into the water with a noisy clanging splash. The boot, attached to a strong and shapely leg, goes back down, and the curvy blonde inside of the pod sits up. She yawns. With a few blinks, she smiles, and looks down at the box. She gives it a cursory examination along with its contents, but doesn't bother doing more than skimming the pamphlet before she hoists herself out of the pod. Both boots hit the shallow water, splashing her legs as she strides for the exit. She can read the brochures later; she'd rather get a look at where she is with her own eyes.]
[Genessia seems to be consumed in a cold but gentle rain. Yang peeks out, holding out her hand to feel the drops on her fingers. Crummy weather! She looks at her box.]
Well...better than nothing, I guess!
[Holding the box over her head as a makeshift umbrella, she dashes off to the left. It feels like it's been years since she stretched her legs, and she's eager for the exploration and exercise. She's also eager to find someplace warm and dry.]
--------
[Some time later, Yang's grinning face appears on the screen. Her wild mass of thick blonde hair, wet from the rain, is being rubbed idly with a towel.]
I'm guessing none of you guys would know how to get to Vale from here.
[Yeah, she knows she's not going anywhere anytime soon.]
So tell me.
[She drops the towel in her lap and fluffs out her hair, then settles her chin into her hand, grinning.]
What does a girl do for fun around here?

[Kitty ears can wait for another day.]
We should, It'll be good to know where she is for surprise visits and stuff!
I- Haven't really done much with the apartment yet, just moved in really
[She's spent the last few days pacing, worrying about she's going to do, dreading getting a job and checking in on Jaune.]
no subject
[Blake is far from dismayed at this information, because surely Ruby must know what this means.]
Sounds like it's time for the two of us to go shopping! We can get all kinds of cute stuff to put in there.
no subject
Ooooh, I can't wait! We might want to bring Jaune along for that too. I don't know if he's got anything for his place yet.
[And she felt kind of bad that she didn't bring him along to this either.]
I need to get more clothes too... Waking up in a creepy pod with only one outfit is kind of lame.
no subject
Eh heh...if you really want to. Most guys don't really appreciate the fine art of window shopping, though.
[This is a lesson Ruby is bound to learn in time: bringing a guy along to go shopping almost always ends up with the guy whining about how much time it's taking and can we go home now.]
Then again, it would be nice to have someone carry our stuff!
[So that's one benefit.]
Why don't we stop by one of the stores and pick up a few essentials after we eat? I'll at least need my own toothbrush.
no subject
[She's just trying to include him Yang. She found out she has you and Blake around. No one else from Jaune's team has shown up yet.]
An extra pair or arms is always good!
[I have a feeling Jaune may have just sneezed again.]
We can do that, we can pick stuff up for breakfast tomorrow too.

[Yang takes out her pamphlet again to examine the wad of bills.]
I wonder if I have enough money to buy a motorcycle.
[If she does, she's going to need a job a lot sooner than anybody else.]
no subject
[Wait is Ruby trying to be the responsible one here. Somethings not right.]
That doesn't mean we can't go look at some though.
no subject
[Yang blinks at her sister as if the very suggestion is a strange alien baby. In a fruit bowl.]
But it's a lot easier to shop if you don't have to keep walking back and forth, isn't it?
no subject
[Ruby doesn't want to think about spending all of their money in one go. She wants to hide out and make it last as long as it can so she doesn't have to get a job. Who's going to keep her company if Yang spends all her money and has to get a job. Ruby will be alone in the house for hours every day! HOURS!
...Yang does bring up a good point though.]
Yeah, I guess you're right.
no subject
Maybe I'll even teach you how to drive it. They aren't exactly strict here about having your ID or license.
[Which would be why she's got those fruity drinks.]
no subject
[Prepare to lose your motorcycle Yang.]
...Well these are the kind of people who just throw pamphlets into everyone's pod telling them to get jobs regardless of how old they are. Age doesn't seem to be a thing for them.
Seems like as good a time as any.
[SHUDDER]
[Almost immediately, she stops a passing waiter.] Towel.
[And with the waiter off on his mission, she starts shedding the dripping coat and looks around for her teammates.]
no subject
[Oh the possibilities. Maybe Yang can be a modeling agent for cute guys, mwah ha ha!]
You could be a weapons specialist and design new gear for people. Do what you love, AND get paid for it! Sounds pretty sweet to me.
[Her gaze shifts to see the big pile of miserable that just came through the door. Her eyes light up, and her hand shoots into the air.]
Blaaaaaaaake! Over here!
no subject
[She's just not prepared for this kind of anarchy, OKAY!? Oh, Blake! A welcome distraction from the whole talk about getting jobs. She'll jump up from her seat and grab Yang's arm. She'll pull her sister up as she rushes over to Blake to get her team in a big old group hug.
When she first got here, she was kind of terrified of being alone. It was a huge relief when she found out Jaune was here too. Now she had Yang and Blake, this place didn't seem so bad anymore.]
Blake! How long have you been here? why didn't you call me or Jaune?!
no subject
It's not exactly expected but after a little while, a quiet smile creeps onto her face and she joins the hug.]
I didn't know you were here. I woke up a few days ago and I thought I was the only one, so.. [she she'd tried to go it alone. Again. If Weiss were here, she'd be livid.] Sorry.
no subject
Forgiven!
[She squeezes the ever-loving crap out of her teammates. Yay!]
It's a little crazy that most of our team is popping up in this place, isn't it? Think it's some sort of Beacon test they sprung on us?
[And if so, where's Weiss and the rest of Team JNPR?]
no subject
Oh don't worry about it. This time! I'm just glad you're alright.
[Yang's next comment about this all being a test got Ruby thinking. That's a dangerous thought.]
I guess it could be. You'd think we'd have got a message from Professor Ozpin or someone by now to explain just what exactly we're supposed to do.
no subject
[Yang's comment about this being a test gets a small frown though.]
I don't think this is a test. I did some exploring over the last few days and.. [she pauses] maybe we should sit down to talk about this.

[The others are released from Yang's well-intentioned HUG OF DEATH, and the blonde strolls back to their table with her arms folded behind her head. She plops back into the booth and leans back, legs crossed. Despite her claims of being hungry, she doesn't pick up the menu, instead regarding Blake curiously to see what her teammate has figured out.]
no subject
Blake's comment has her a little worried though. She'll take a seat at the table beside Yang and wait for Blake to start with the explaining.]
Okay, so what did you find out?
no subject
Well, over the last few days I went through each of the four main archways the pamphlet talked about. [She dries off her hair as she speaks.] Each one seems to open up into its own world, with its own inhabitants and rules, and none of them are anything like Remnant. I didn't even see any Dust in use.
[She pauses. That was going to be another problem.]
Whatever this place is, it's beyond anything anyone on Remnant is capable of doing. Even Beacon.
no subject
[It's hard to imagine a place run by anything else. It also doesn't take Yang long to realize what a Dustless place means for the team.]
We'd better conserve our ammo, at least until we can find a reasonable substitute.
no subject
Well if there are portals to other worlds around, does that mean there could be one that takes us back home? I mean that's possible, right?
no subject
I'm not sure. I remember reading some theories on alternative energy sources back home but nothing that was actually put into use on this scale.
[It seems they're all on the same page about the implications of not having any Dust.]
From what I've seen nobody's found a way to go back home, but... there is one thing. We could create one of those Archways to a copy of Vale. It wouldn't be home but there would at least be Dust there.
[She pauses.]
But that would mean one of us would have to give something up.
no subject
[Yang idly toys with her menu, flipping it in her fingers. This Archway stuff is brand new to her, as is everything else -- she only got here about an hour ago.]
I've got a pretty fat stack of credits, could we use that?
