[Action/Video] New Arrival at the Bay - OTA

[Action]

[Despite the pod opening to reveal a high school junior, he was still fast asleep and doesn't seem willing to get up.
Eventually, he does begin to stir in groggy protests and sits up in the pod, rubbing his eyes.]

"Ugh... Man... What happened?"

[He struggles to try to remember. He steadily begins to remember faces, a tower and darkness.]

"...Oh, right. We were exploring Tartarus, and..."

[Junpei took his hands off his face and finally notices his surroundings. Seeing a creepy cave littered with pods standing in water made him feel like he was in some alien movie. On top of that, he realizes he can't see any of his friends around. He begins to get nervous.]

"Wha... What the hell is this?!" [He tries to get out of the pod he was in, only to trip and fall into the water with a hearty splash.]

Flailing a moment to get back up, he grabbed the pod and pulled himself back up, spitting out water in the process. Looking into the pod, he finds the equipment he brought with him, a katana and the gun-shaped Evoker. Junpei takes them and straps them on. If this was another floor of Tartarus, surely there will be shadows and the last thing he wants is to get caught with his pants down, even if he was confident enough to take them all out on his own.

Furthermore, he finds something else in the pod, a simple box. Junpei picks it up and examines it a moment before turning around to look around the area he was in.]

"... Heeey!! Yuka-tan!! Mitsuru-senpai!! Akihiko-senpai!! Where are ya guys?!"

[Would that attract shadows? Probably. Junpei didn't care. He and Hermes can take them out. But, no reply. He waited a bit longer, listening carefully. Still nothing. He looks to the box in his hands and lifts the lid. He ignored most of the stuff he found inside, except for a necklace and a device. He didn't even hesitate to put the necklace on, grinning like the lucky guy that he was for finding such a sweet chain that would surely bring all the girls to his arms. He then turns his attention the device, holding it in one hand as he thumbed around with the buttons while he made his way towards the nearest exit, not realizing he just turned it on.]

[Video]

[The network feed came alive to a teenaged boy, looking as though he's really putting in the brain power to figure out the communicator, talking to himself.]

"Just how do you work this thing? It has a screen, but it's not a TV and it's not a phone... So what is it for?"

"That, dear subject, is your personal Ted Viewer. Or 'TV' for short. I am your new lord and king, and with that, if the stars align, I may deign to show you my visage.

For now, acclimatize yourself, so that you might better serve me if and when I have need of you. Any questions?"

[Junpei made a curious sound as he realized it was coming from the device. Was it working? Did he get it to work? And what is this about lords and kings? Japan had no such thing...unless he fell into a parallel version of Japan during the last Dark Hour. Considering the device actually works assures him that he was no longer experiencing the Dark Hour as he had thought.]

"Accli-what? What's all this about?"

" 'Acclimatize', as in, gird your loins and gather your bearings. I can't make use of you if you're in a panic, now can I?

As regards what this is all about, I am in the middle of a great labor, one that will shake the heavens to their foundation. For that I have need of many various subjects. Count yourself lucky that you've been selected, and found a place in my work. But I am gracious, and the work will wait until you've calmed your nerves. The hologram will explain more."

Which is something he should get around to to avoid being strung along too long.

Porrim walks in. "What are you doing?"

He jumped a little from his chair. "Oh, Porrim! Welcome. I'm afraid my 'open door' policy was more of a rhetorical flourish; I am ever the ardent believer in knocking. Anyway, I was just rolling out the welcome mat for our new arrival. Which, given your experience in formal gatherings, I've just decided lies right in your wheelhouse. Have at it! I should probably look into something...Guardian...-y."

So smooth.

She puts down some papers on his desk. "Take a look at these then. I'm renting some space for a townhall meeting. This necromancy thing is really important. If you think it's the right thing, then we need to help people understand your side of things."

She walks around the desk to Ted's device, and turns on the video feed. "Hello?"

[Levy can't believe what she's seeing on the video right now. She'll leave Ted to Porrim and address the poor boy who's just arrived. This isn't a way he should meet others.]

[Well, here's a looker. Sadly though, the screen keeps Junpei from admiring everything about her. It didn't stop him from turning on the charm a bit.]

"Hey there. I'm Junpei Iori."

[Though he was quick to drop the grin. Everything about this was too strange for him to not pass off as coincidence.]

"So, uh... What do ya mean by 'woken up?' Everyone wakes up."

[Levy's smiles grows.]

That's right. For the moment we are stuck in this world.

[Her smiles falters slightly.]

We try to make due but things can be hectic. Are you still at the Bay? I can meet you if it's easier to explain.

[She doesn't know his thoughts about her looks though she'd be flattered.]

"Stuck in this world?! The hell's that supposed to mean?!"

[Junpei made a effort not to just jump to conclusions, but he couldn't stop himself from theorizing. He could be dreaming, or he could be in Tartarus still and he was really talking to a shadow. However, neither Mitsuru or Ikutsuki mentioned any "Shadow Test" of some sort.]

"I, uh, I'm actually in some sort of flooded cave with alien pods everywhere."

[Levy's smile falters and reforms into a nervous line.]

Yes, that's usually where people come into this place. If you head out there is an information center. They'll help you get a job and a place to live.

[Even if staying here isn't ideal, it's something.]

"A job and a place to live? No-freaking-way! I can't stay here! I-I-I have things to do back in Tatsumi Port Island!"

[He's not including school in his top 10 for reasons.]

[Aqua has made a habit of checking the bay to see if Ventus might have found his way here as well. She can't help but worry about him but like every other day before he isn't there.

She sighs softly, her expression a little disappointed when she hears Junpie splash into the calm water. Quick strides bring her towards the noise and ripples that out stretch from his location. She hears some of what he says but it makes little sense to her.]

Hello? Are you alright?

[Junpei was interrupted from his fiddling with the device when he hears the voice. He turns slowly and momentarily stares, a blush appeared for a moment. He grinned and assumed a relaxed, yet dripping-wet, pose while he tries to impress this cute girl. He may or may not be pretending the box he's holding is a lot heavier than it is to exaggerate his strength.]

"Ah, heh... 'Sup? It'll take a lot more to take me down. I'm Junpei. What's your name?"

[Nailed it.]

Aqua.

[She smiles a little wistfully, looking at the young man.]

You must have just arrived too.

[Once more, a repeat of one keyword he's been hearing since the communicator spoke up. This was trying his patience, not that he had much to begin with.]

"Just arrived.... Just what the hell is going on? Why does everyone on the Ted Viewer keep saying it? Would be nice if people would just tell me already!"

Ted Viewer?

[She has no idea what he means.]

This is a world that isn't your own. I don't know how you were brought here.

Yet another has been kidnapped for whatever purpose this reality has...

[Patchouli doesn't look much older than twenty, despite her actual age.]

That device is used to talk to others, like yourself, who have been brought here.

[ Lucy had been sauntering about in Genessia getting some shopping done, food mainly, when she heard the flailing and sputtering. Figuring it must be another new person, she put her bags down for a moment and investigated the noises. ]

Hello? You okay in here? [ Not lying facedown in a puddle right? ]

[Junpei was back on his feet and trying to get accustomed to wearing his school uniform in near knee-deep water, along with the entirety it being soaked all the way through.. He had already reclaimed his large katana and gun-shaped evoker and put them on his person where they belonged. That's when he heard the voice.

Junpei turned to see who the voice came from, and right before his eyes was the most gorgeous set of...woman he had seen in a while.]

"...Whoa."

[Junpei was trying to be subtle about it, but there was no hiding what he had noticed. It was a long moment before he realized he had been asked a question.]

"Huh? Uh... Y-Y-Yeah, I'm fine."

[ ... Eyes, right Junpei? It was the eyes. Pretty doe brown eyes. Preserve your life expectancy a little longer :D Though her hands rested upon her hips when it took him a moment longer than necessary to respond. ]

-Ahem-. [ Eyes up, buddy! On the face! Back to the topic at hand though. ]

Are you sure? You just 'woke' up here right?

[No, it was definitely the boo--Nevermind. Living sounds nice right now. Upon being asked if he just woke up, he couldn't help himself.]

"If I didn't, I don't want to wake up. So, uh... Ya come here often?"

[ Ohgosh. Really? That line. Wow. Lucy smiled, inwardly chuckling. ]

Only when I'm getting some shopping done. I heard you in here and thought I'd come and see if you needed any help. [ She stepped closer, holding out a hand to shake. ]

Lucy Heartfilia.

"The only help I need is getting your number~"

[He tried to wipe his wet hand on his still damp clothes before giving up and just carefully taking her hand into his.]

"Junpei Iori. Nice to meet ya."
