1st Task [Video/Action]

YESTERDAY

For a Celestial, time is something that one starts to lose track of. Not in the sense of not knowing what day it is, per se, but what each day in particular means. For example, Virgo is well aware that this month is October. She knows that Halloween is this month. She also simply assumed that with the sales hitting this month that it was soon. How soon? Maybe it's tomorrow! "I do not recall the princess having a costume prepared." she says to herself while staring through the shop question's window.

NOW

Virgo managed to stitch up not one, but two costumes- For one reason or another she's decided upon arabian dancer outfits, pink for herself and blue for Lucy. She's already dressed up, of course, and has quite 'helpfully' replaced Lucy's intended clothing while in the shower.

The feed comes on with Virgo dressed in a pink harem dancer costume, with a clear enough view of the living room behind her. She's off screen for a moment, and when Virgo returns, she gives a blank stare at the screen, hands folded in front of her while standing on the coffee table.

Some fine 80s R&B plays in the background.

"This is 'take three' of the surprise Halloween routine to be performed by the princess and myself. I shall now practice."

Virgo's dancing can be described as 'different' at best. The way she moves her arms or sways her hips is incredibly unnatural, and her blank expression makes her appear plain awkward. On the other hand, that she manages to avoid smacking herself in the face with the chains of her cuffs could be considered impressive. Virgo's enjoying herself all the same.

Doin' the butt, hey, sexy sexy! When you get that notion, put your backfield in motion hey!

"I am experiencing this 'notion' you speak of, Mister EU."

Eventually another female voice can be heard, "What are you doing?"

"Placing my 'backfield in motion', Princess."

(OOC: Virgo intends to have Lucy join her so anyone who wants to respond to both during this.. special moment may want to wait a few rounds. Lucy is unaware this is being recorded.)

Poor Lucy. She thought she'd explained to Virgo that Halloween wasn't for days yet. She also thought her clothing would be safely left alone while she took a shower, but when she stepped out and found the dancer getup left in its place, she palmed her face. "Virgo.." she shook her head, slipping into the garb since she had little choice otherwise. She could hear Virgo doing something out there, so once she was dry and dressed, she trotted out to her friend, watching her 'dance' a moment or two. "What are you doing?"

'Placing my 'backfield' in motion', Princess.'

"..." Lucy burst into giggles, "Do I even want to know where you got that music from? More seriously, where are my clothes?" Ah, at least Natsu wasn't there to see her in this get up.

"The melody has been magically placed to remain inside of a 'compact disc'." Virgo explains as she balances on one foot to perform several other 'dance' moves. "I was able to procure it from a store that sells many similar artifacts."

"Your clothing is currently in the wash with the rest of the laundry. I intended to set them aside, but an unfortunate accident occurred." Virgo stopped to offer her hand. "You look magnificent and graceful as always, Princess. Shall we do 'da butt' together?"

[ ooops, overheard on video but action forever I guess? :D ]

"I-I see." Lucy glanced around, relieved that Natsu wasn't present. And then she looked sharply back at the maid spirit, startled, "Unfortunate accident? What.. what do you mean by that?" Ohdear, what happened.

... Lucy couldn't help but smile softly at the question though. Virgo was too much, as ever. "Ah..ahaha., I'm not sure I know the steps." But she placed her hand in Virgo's anyway, wrinkling her brow. "Is it seriously called that?" She wondered what she just got herself into, listening to the painfully 80s music lyrics.

"That is why we are practicing. We must perfect the routine in time for the party- There's no need to worry, I will be with you of course." beat "Barring the event that there is another unfortunate accident."

She brings Lucy up with her onto the coffee table, which makes for less room, but a lack of room never stopped the maid spirit any. What the accident was is set aside for the moment, "I shall teach you the steps first: Raise your hands upward. Secondly, wave them as if you are experiencing a care-free day. Sway your hips in the opposite direction. If timed correctly our hips should bump."

Also.. Is that what the dance is really called? "I agree that it is a title fitting for a gang rather than a dance, but rest assured it is correct."

*just laughing 'da butt' off here*

"Party?" Lucy echoed, baffled. "What par- again, what's all this about unfortunate accidents~!" Sob, you troll you. Wait wait, why are we on the table. She wobbles to get her balance, following Virgo's instructions.

Somehow it reminds her of when Natsu was doing his bizarre dance at the guild. "Like this?" She asks, swaying her hips and waving her hands in the air, like she just don't care. She couldn't help but giggle when she bumped hips with her spirit, "This is so silly -" ...she lost the rhythm though as mention of the title being fit for a gang, shuddering violently. That reminded her of SOMETHING horrifying. Since Lucy mutters under her breath, 'Never.. never.. never again' ;.;

{ Before the necklace feed activated, Zeref and Mavis were sitting at a picnic table in what appeared to be Fayren. Each held a set of cards in their hands, both deeply concentrating. A nearby scoreboard with tally marks had two marks under Mavis, and one under Zeref. Zeref’s face was expressionless, keeping up a good pokerface, as he laid down two cards face down. }

You’ve picked this game up quickly, Mavis.

{ Not that he’s surprised. }

Your move.

{ Mavis had that look of deep concentration that showed she was very much into the game right now. And she was undoubtedly enjoying it. It was a strategy game, after all, and Zeref was a worthy opponent. She plays her hand before looking back up at Zeref. She couldn’t help but smile smugly at his compliment. }

It’s a very good game. Is it typical of Alvarez, then?

{ Zeref smiled, as he looked down at Mavis’ hand, the first time this round that his pokerface was broken. Just what he was hoping for. The card at the center of the table was going to be his the next turn. }

I designed it.

{ Zeref turned over one of his cards, revealing what looked like a knight in black armor. }

{ Mavis had to smirk at that move. How long was it since she’d had that much fun playing with someone that could challenge her. She pouted slightly though.}

In that case, I’m clearly at a disadvantage here.

{ But it didn’t seem to discourage her at all, quite the opposite in fact. She laid down one card face down and gave Zeref a daring look. One day she would have to ask him why the ‘goddess’, which was the most important card of that game he created, looked so suspiciously like her.}

{ Zeref couldn’t help but smirk, as he drew his card, ready to end this round in one last move.}

I’m sorry, Mavis, but I think the score is about to be tied--

{ Zeref suddenly dropped every card in his hand as both of their necklaces started blaring awful 1980’s R&B by an artist nobody under the age of twenty has ever heard of. Zeref cringed, not even noticing that they now have to start the round over again because of this, as he clawed at his necklace as if it were a noose, trying to see where that hideous noise was coming from.

While the sight on the other end of the necklace was hardly the most horrible thing he could have seen, given Virgo and Lucy’s choice of outfits, the music was already starting to give him a headache. }

Mavis, tell me this isn’t what’s popular in Fiore in this era.

{ He was already trying to find the volume switch on the necklace, if it even had one. }

{ The small Fairy was too busy blocking her ears to do or think of anything else. So she just blinked at Zeref and finally noticed what he was doing. So she hastily turned the volume of her necklace down.}

Sorry, Zeref… I couldn’t hear a word you were saying above that noise. ....Do you think it’s a form of alert sound?

[ Lucy paused, hearing voices that didn't quite jive with the outdated music. She glanced at Virgo. ]

Is... that part of the song?

[...Wait. That series of noises was actually supposed to be a song? Wow... Mavis suddenly feels very old and very out of it.]

[Virgo similarly pauses mid-step, and takes a moment to think about what happened in the last five minutes. Uh oh.

I am afraid not, Princess. It would appear I've made a technical error.

{ Whoops. Totally forgetting about the Lejenca match - the first hard game he's played since the time he played against Invel out of boredom - he wonders if Virgo remembers the favor she had done for him before. He decides not to ask; if she does, she'd likely bring it up, herself. }

If that was a song, I'm glad I didn't keep up with popular culture in Ishgar.

Actually we were not intending to dance in the way the outfits are made for. They're costumes, and we were just fooling around. This wasn't even supposed to be on!

[Virgo, on the other hand, is quite on board with learning how to shake her moneymaker from the (apparent) master herself. So when Lucy looks to her, there are absolute sparkles in the celestial's eyes. SPARKLES.]

Oh! My apologies, I didn't realize it was that time of year again. But you really should see a bellydance someday, it's rather fun as well as very feminine and good exercise.

That would be the case if we were trying to belly dance, sure. Bridget's actually going to teach us the proper dance steps. But all Virgo and I were doing was having fun. You don't have to match when it's fun.

[Virgo bops her fist into her opposite's palm. So that was the problem, she made a costume that draws focus on the wrong bodypart! Noted. She is midly curious what the 'incident' the new face speaks of was, but clarification is more important.]

Due to the second unfortunate accident, I am afraid I have not had the chance to fully explain, Princess. I wanted to request to be your costume partner this year so that we could dance at the party like the one this young miss speaks of.

According to the calendar, yeah. I'm sure it'll be fun.

[ Turning to Virgo with a smile, she nodded. ]

My costume partner? That - [ Well, she won't have to drag Natsu with her if that's the case. ]

That should be fun, sure! I..wonder if I should find a costume for Natsu to match us...
